Hi Susan - thanks! It's been an interesting ride. Back when I transitioned I would never have guessed that trans*folk would be anywhere near as visible as is now the case, let alone a common subject in the media. There was a lot less info back then and finding therapists, access to HRT, and surgical options was sparse. When I first started feeling the waters with transitioning, it was in the mid 90s. At that time it seemed near impossible, but got a little better closer to 2000 as the internet was really starting to populate and access to information increased, which was an immense help. I will forever be grateful for and admire those who transitioned earlier than that. The world was so much less accepting prior to the 90s.     Thanks Sara!   Thanks KayC!

Hammertime,   All of the recommendations made by everyone that has commented previously are terrific, however, makeup usage and application is such a personal science.  Therefore, to offer you advice, it would help to know a little more about you and your objectives.  To offer recommendations, I'd like to know if you are trying to hide masculine flaws, or, are you blessed with androgynous features that don't require any camouflage?  Makeup tips that "transform" are quite a bit more involved and require specialized products and techniques that really aren't suitable for genetic women, or those in our sisterhood who possess flawless skin and feminine features.   I'm one of those women who uses makeup to help transform and camouflage my masculine features.  To achieve such ends, I apply makeup a little more heavily than a genetic woman might.  Still, with careful techniques and the right products, I have learned to create a very natural appearance.  I can't say that people don't notice I'm wearing makeup, but the way I apply it makes it look natural.   So, let us all know what you are trying to achieve, and our advice can be more focused and specific.

It could be that he is reading apprehension in your attempt to not seem pushy. I totally get why you might worry about being too pushy though. Like others have suggested, maybe shoot him a text when you feel up to it. Maybe you can arrange a skype 'date; or something!

https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2020/07/04/erica-coates-cork-ireland-farmer-comes-out-transgender-joe-duffy-liveline-rte-radio/   We've got a couple of farmers on this site about at that age.  Hmmmm, maybe farming and being trans go together?  😄   Carolyn Marie

Thank you for the thumbs up dear Carolyn. I do a lot fancy films of the old period.

I saw it and yes, I thought it was well done.  I was not a huge fan of the series as my wife was, but this was a very well made, well acted story that stands on its own.  That said, it does help if you're at least familiar with the characters and their back stories.   Carolyn Marie

Has any one watched the film (not the episodes)?   I want to buy it today and I don't want to give 20 dollars if it not good to Apple. I am so bored today, in fact all Sundays I feel that way. Unfortunately, they don't have it for rent on Apple TV, I see it only as Buy It, so is it worth it?

Hey Sara! I’m pretty new to this whole shebang too and just wanted to say that you couldn’t have picked a more lovely or open community forum! it already sounds like you’re being an amazing supportive partner and really a transition isn’t something that should come between you.  I have benefit immensely from therapy, just having a third party to discuss my feelings with and who can offer profession insights is great.  I would say not to downplay how you feel, she’s going through a lot but so are you x  love xx

Hey! Thank you for your responses  I’ll be doing a bit more research and I’m sure my ex will too xx

...and  here is another song summer wine. I really wish that America had its mind opened and not so much fear and hate towards trans. people.

Hello everybody! Hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth with all fingers still attached. 😁  I had to work and it was a REALLY bad day. Relaxing today and thinking about going to the store for some retail therapy.

Hi Daniki. Mr. Trump has no incentive to help us. We're not a particular large voting block, we don't represent a significant financial subpopulation. So unfortunately, why bother?   I don't want to be crass, but in Washington DC, the unspoken mantra is: Follow the money!
