Is It Ok To Wear Moisturizer Overnight?

Hi Everyone,

I'm quite new to skin care and need a few tips.

Should I use moisturizer before bed? My skin is oily and I am fairly good about washing nightly but I love the way moisturizer feels but i don't want to clog my pores.

Is self-tanning cream just brown moisturizer? I don't quite get the concept.

The Lancome ladies recommended toner? Anyone have any product suggestions?

I took my first trip to the Macy's cosmetics floor. Lancome had a nice deal - spend $30 and get a bag of goodies (lipstick, blush, mascara, etc). A few people gave me funny looks but they were dressed so poorly that taking them seriously wasn't even on the table. The women at the counter were totally nice and threw in 3 extra lipsticks. It was also good because I could find concealer that matched my skin tone. Way better than standing there totally confused in the Wallgreen's wall o'cosmetics.

au revoir

Anna

If your worried about clogging your pours, buy a mousterizer that says "non-comedogenic" on it; that basically means "won't clog your pours." I believe Olay and Neutrogena have really good mousterizers for that; plus they usually have SPF 15 or 30 in them. Also, if your skin is naturally oily it won't hurt to mousterize overnight- you just might want to not do it in the morning then, otherwise it might get a little greasy, depending on the brand though.

Never used self-tanning cream; the stuff never looks right to me. However, I did use "tan in the bottle" once; I have naturally ivory skin, so I ended up looking like an oompa loompa for a week... Fun stuff. <_<

Don't know anything about Lancome either; I use pro-activ's toner and face wash and used to use Neutrogena's toner, which is awesome by the way.

Hi Anna,

Yes there are good moisturizers to put on before you go to bed. There are day cremes and night cremes. I look for moisturizers with peptides. And skin care products that contain hyaluronic acid which promotes collagen fiber formation. For exfoliating, I buy products with lactic acid and I only use exfoliating cleansers with beads (no grit). These clean out your pores gently. I use a product called Aziz, it has JoJoba beads and lactic and salicylic acid.

I haven't had much success with toners. My skin is too sensitive? The ones I've tried really irritated and left bright red splotches on my face for hours.

I'm not sure about wearing tanning creme as a moisturizer? No matter what though, cleanse your face of everything at night and then a good night moisturizing serum or creme should help. And I hope this helps :)

I like to use half a dozen products every night, but one of my staples is Olay night recovery moisturizing treatment. I use that for most of my face, plus an eye treatment, plus Shiseido products (as you say, from Macy's). I like Ponds for my neck and cleavage. But then I swim 90 minutes every day and the chlorine takes a terrible toll on my skin. This regimen works tho. Even tho I am 56 my skin is as soft and smooth as a baby's bottom.

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?
