Looking For Someone With Personal Experience

Guest Jamiee

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im new to the site. Im looking for someone that has a personal experience with being married and realizing that all there life the have been denying who they really are. Just to give you a insight to me. Right now I am not comfortable saying this but i am a U.S. Marine deployed in Iraq. I am married to a wonderful woman but our marriage is not on the best of terms right now. I have always used relationships to hide my female side more like i am trying to live my life through them. But i have finally realized my true self that i want to be a passable female in society.

My big problem that I have is that i dont think that my wife will take it well. I guess that the thing that im looking for is the right way to tell my wife about myself. Im just looking for someone to talk to about they way i want to live my life. The big reason is that I dont have anyone to talk to especially being in iraq in the military. I feel that i can talk with everyone here. Any response from anyone will be greatly appreciated. Well i think that i will have a little cry now.

hi jamiee,

first thing i want to say is " thank you "

secondly, i have a SO that is not accepting at all. i want to go pretty far with my transitioning and after many years of marriage, i'm sort of afraid of what she would do. she can be very vindictive and with our finances, it could be a diaster for me. tread lightly jamiee but in the end, it will be ok for both of us. since you're younger, you got lots of time so go for it.

hugs from the usa and me,

geri danielle

Welcome to the forums first of all! I've never been married, so I don't know how much help I could be; but from doing tons of research, I've learned that either it will completely destroy a marriage, or bring you much closer together; it depends on the person. I can't write anymore or I'll be late for work :P but; if you ever need to talk or vent off some steam, PM me, or ask me for messenger info, I use AIM, yahoo, and MSN. I could use more people to talk to lately; honestly, because my current change in life has alienated me from many friends, as you can imagine.

Well Hello Miss Marine,

My name is Angie. I was married for twenty three years to the same woman.

Coming out to those you love is hard...Coming out to your spouse not only takes courage but planning.

I found that it is best to approach the subject of transgenders then back off.

It is common for girls when they first realise who they truly are to blurt it out.

Obsess over finally finding the real you...And driving her away(really it can happen)It happened to me.

Your girl is in love with the man...The thought of losing him will cause her to fight back and deny.

IF,you start slow and approach this logically, broaching the subject without pushing it...She May Stay.

But...Be prepared to lose all that you love and care for, friends family and your precious wife.

All to be true to yourself.Think of this like a doctor telling you to prepare for the worst...

And if the worst doesn't happen, then Great!

Geri, you can PM me any time,be my guest.

I have been out for five years,in transition eight months.

And...My ex and i are good friends now.

But it took quite some time for that to come to pass.

Welcome To The Playground.

And Big Ol Hugs Too,

Angie.

Im glad to see that there are other people out there that are like me Angie.

I have been reading some forums around the internet about how to come out to your spouse. (I almost got outed to early and was on a website that was considered PORN which was just a blog at work) Dodged the bullet on that one though. I have read a lot of good blogs on the internet though and they say there are many different ways to tell your spouse but the most important thing is that you do tell her cause in the long run you are going to ruin your marriage cause of your desire to want to be the woman inside that makes you happy, but at the same time you are going to not want to get caught by your SO. So you do it in private do to the way society makes people think about how a man and a woman are "supposed" to be and act. In there eyes what you are doing is wrong but you are just doing what feels right to you.

Miss Marine

Good morning,   Put on my favourite new Rock band Tee from Torrid and some shorts.  I am just about ready to go spend my day at the stuffy day-centre after I get done soaking my feet.

4 months doesn’t seem such a long time now compared to the times I was previously looking at! 🙂   Many thanks to @Karen Careyfor pointing me towards GenderCare, they have been nothing but helpful and professional, and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them.

What is a perfect day for you?

Love is a mix of feelings and actions that shows a deep liking for someone or something. Love involves caring for another. Romantic love can lead to things such as dating, marriage and sex, but a person can also feel for friends, such as platonic love, or family. There are also chemical reactions within the brain that can be triggered by the different types of love.

Good morning, everyone!! I'm still battling the Worst Head Cold Ever. Just when I think I've turned the corner, it smacks me back down. If you've got stock in tissues, I'm driving up your profits.   Our early Spring has the grass growing quickly. I need to get out today and cut it before it grows over the house. Today is supposed to be sunny and mid-60s so I'll suck up not feeling great and get the mowers out. At least I'll be in the sunshine for a few hours. The next few days are supposed to be rainy so it's today or wait until the weekend.   Time for a second cup of coffee!!   Stay safe and enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

Welcome Mattie.  When i got here i was at a point bin my journey when i was discovering my path.  Writing about it and reading about others helped me greatly as did gender therapy.  Perhaps the hardest thing was finding self acceptance without feeling guilt at simply being me. Enjoy your time here.  You are not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

@Breanne_O You seem to be on your way there girl-- full speed ahead it was a real adventure for me 11 years ago.

I picked a cancellation spot with Dr Lorimer yesterday and had my consultation a month early.  I had been worried about how it would go, but the process of exchanging information was nothing to worry about and I felt quite at ease throughout.  That’s not to say some parts weren’t challenging to articulate clearly, but Dr Lorimer’s manner helped enormously.   The GI/GD diagnosis was such a welcome conclusion to it all, and such an important milestone in my journey.   Now for the Endo consult waiting…

This one is NOT over, and this is not a final final ruling on the matter since this was a procedural and not substantive ruling based on scientific evidence.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-allows-enforcement-idaho-ban-gender-affirming-care-trans-rcna141209     6-3 decision, of course.  The conservative Justices really don't give a damn who gets hurt, as long as it's "just" trans kids.  This is what we can expect, going forward.    Carolyn Marie
