Well, Gang...

Been pretty regular on my electrolysis for about 6 months and I've gotten about 35-40 hours...

Boths cheeks are pretty much done as is the upper lip (YEOOOOOW!)

Now we're getting to do the chin and neck....OH...MY...GOD!

She hadn't done the sideburn areas and the last visit she asked me "How long do you want me to leave the sideburns, in case you want to grow them out?"

I said, "ANNE! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I'M GROWING BREASTS! WHY IN HEAVENS NAME WOULD I WANT SIDEBURNS????"

lol.....LOL...

She said..."Oh, yeah......sorry....."

The poor dear was embarressed cause I was laughing so hard...

I have at least as many hours to still go..and I'll try to keep you updated on the progress as I know that many here will need to do this...

It's not fun to shave. But, it is nice to have so much smooth face for a change...

I'd be happy to answer any questions that anyone may have!

BIGG HUGGS!

Well, Dee Jay, you might need the sideburns later as harvesting areas for hair replacement

therapy. You never know! :P

Two serious questions though - how many more hours do you estimate you'll need?

What is the estimated total cost?

I am glad that you're making good progress, Hon. Your look great in your pics and your vedeo

cam. My wife says you're really pretty!

AWww shucks, Carolyn.... *twists toe in dirt*

Hee Hee...

Hours? Well it looks to be in the neighborhood of 100-125....*whew*

I've been doing 3 hours at a session because it's cheeper, but I've found that the prices for it range from $45 and hour (mine) to $180 an hour in NYC!

I get 3 hours for $105...it's one heck of a deal!

Estimated total cost is $3,000-$5,000...............not cheap...

But it's permanant and your face is smooth and you NEVER have to shave again!

I'm gonna get my eyebrows done, too...no more plucking!

Thanks, Baby!

First off, I did no Laser at all....I'm not suited for it...my facial hair is too light (read: gray)...so, it's one hair at a time for the duration!

My electrologist puts a probe into each hair root and it's in there about 10 seconds! Average face has 55,000 hairs...do the math...OMG!

Don't drink coffee before a session...the caffine makes the sting more acute!

Viv...If you have anything more specific, I'd be glad to help.....OK?

After two laser sessions and 25-30 hours of electro, I’m pretty much hair free on the sides of my face. Under the nose and under the chin are another story.

I, too, have the “platinum blond” hairs and my electro has slowly been working with them. It’s still tough, though, because those light hairs are not easy to get rid off!!!

I think it’ll take another 20 hours of electro and two more laser sessions to clear my face.

Has anyone done any research or asked about how many m.amps the machine is each time you go? Are you upping the power each time? What is the pain difference between low and higher settings? What is a good range to begin with and want strength does it become most effective? :P

Donna Jean,

Your electrocution tech (sorry, my bad!) does raise a question I've been wondering about, what is a "normal" girl's sideburn area hairline? In pre-electro grooming, where should the shave/no shave line be, and how should it be trimmed to look like a natural lower end of the hair line, if that makes sense? Do GFs trim it back? Should we let the lower hairs grow out long to blend up, or what? Any hair people out there with advice? Just where does it end? I get paid by the question! Right?

Dang good question, Susan!

I shave up to where the top part of the ear connects...not the top (high) part of the ear...

That gives it a more natural look. The hairs from the temple , when long enough to go behind your ear, look very natural...and doesn't show a "stop" line where you shave to..

Most GG's hair there just tapers as it goes down the face ...becoming lighter and thinner...there is no definitive line there..

Hope that helps a bit....

See the cashier for your "Per Question" pay.......lol!

I had my second electro the day before, and she worked on my chin. Yayyy!

My esthetitan charges 60/hour for the treatment. I take half hour, for 35 dollars. I have no other option, she is the only one in town.

Love,

Lily

I know what that's like, Dear....

There is no electrologist within many miles of me and I have to drive over an hour to mine!

We do what we have to do!

Keep it going, Honey....it pays off in the long run!

I have the same problem, I see a *TG Friendly* electrologist and it is about an hour or so away, and yes it is expensive and at first it was pretty painful in the beginning(especially in the next/chin areas) but does get a lot easier/less painful as time passes. I need to get back to mine here soon but as Donna said *Keep it going, Honey....it pays off in the long run!* because she is right!!

The hormones have taken care of much of my face for me, but the neck and jaw line are just a mess. I am going to have to suffer with them until after the move next year because there wont be the money till after then. I can get reasonbly close with a good blade and some tricky makeup techniques can keep the stubble burried for 16 hours.

The hormone seemed to have slowed down the rate of growth, but will never reduce the number of hairs on one's face...dang!

Yeah, electrolysis IS expensive, but I want it done and I'll not waver on getting it over with...If I had all of the money that I'll spend on it, I could of bought an airplane!

OK Dee Jay maybe Im just weird(dont answer that as we know the answer), but not only has it slowed things down on my cheeks and mustache area it has greatly reduced the number. If it isnt the hormones then its the biggest conincidence in history

Well, I just wanted to get to the bottom of this so I got on the phone and called Ann, my electrologist and asked about this... (practicing for 11 years) She is also 35 years Registered Nurse.

She said...

The number of hair follicles remains constant ..even when I have the hairs removed, the follicle is there , but now inoperative because of the electrolysis process..

If you are having less hair growth, the hormones probably cause dormancy in many hairs and the result is less hair growth...

In the instance of going off of HRT (such as for surgery ...ie. SRS) The dormant hair may restart their growth cycle...

I guess that it really doesn't matter as to the cause or reason as long as you have no hair....right?

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?
