First Electrolysis Session....

I had my first Electrolysis session today which went for the most part ok, I mostly had done the upper lip area and also the bottom chin areas. Some areas (mostly around the nasal areas) were kind of painful but for my first time I think I did rather well and it was really just an hour session, I am going back here in the next week or so to have more done. I can't wait! :)

Great news, Emily. Good for you. I'm glad you were able to tolerate the pain well. It's really hard for some. I'm doing laser myself, and the nurses tell

me some male clients flop around like fish, they have such low pain tolerance. I flinch a little just when they do the upper lip, otherwise, its no biggie.

Keep us posted on your progress, hon.

Question, when you do the electrolysis are you allowed to like take a swig of lets call it "happy liquid" or a puff of something to ease the pain? I ask because I have like no tolerance to pain, most especially my upper lip.

Thats great news. I had my second electrolysis session this morning also. I've had 5 laser treatments in addition and I'm down to getting rid of the white hairs now.

Electrolysis to me at least is much more painful and hurts even after you leave the building. You can't argue with the results though.

Just remember to breath and don't hold your breath through the pain.

Yes at times I flinched at the pain, some of it was *anticipated* which made it a bit worse because of the psychological effects, I have done laser several times so I am getting used to the pain I guess but since this was my first session for electrolysis, there are more in front of me for sure.

No happy juice for me, she just put some Gel like substance in the areas that she was working on that seemed to help a bit.

Mine just cleaned the area with a alcohol swab before starting and then put aloe on at the end of the session.

At the TS group I go to, one person was starting electro in a place a few doors from a dentist. Going to the dentist for novocaine and then to electrolysis. I had no idea this was possible - but worth looking into if the pain is too much.

I agree, aloe is good too. The other kind of gel is witchhasel. It is usually recommended after hair removal.

Yeah!

I had planned on going laser but found that I wasn't a good candidate. So, last night I had my first electrolysis. Got over half of my face done in one session - I was told that most women have more facial hair than I do. The right side of my face has nerve damage that I forget about most of the time, but it was noticeable last night - nearly painless on that side.

Looking forward to getting the rest of it done in a week. I know there's new growth afterwards, but will worry about that when it shows up.

So glad I didn't go with laser - it would have cost 3 times as much.

Kat.

You mean that you are haf done already? Are you serious?

OMG!

I've got 40-50 hours so far and I'm not but half way.....DANG!

Well good for you...

And, to your ealier post...some do get novacaine right before a session by pre-arrangement with a dentist...

Way to go, Girl....

I had my first session today too. Well, it was really more of a consultation with about 20 minutes of electrolysis to give me a feel for what it would be like. I have to admit, the pain was more than bearable.

Good luck! Have fun!

Yeah the pain isn't too bad but after the session it's still sore for a hour or so unlike laser which hurts but only for a moment and then the pain is gone. I hope I won't require too much more electrolysis to get rid of my facial hair.

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.

You have grown more breast tissue than most some only get one size and that is it. I went from 42C to 42DD but I'm also taking supplements. It's risky to take the supplements but to me it's worth the risk.

I'd echo some of the advice in Imma Asher's letter in the book To My Trans Sisters:   Take your time.  See yourself. Be proud.  Be strong. Indulge in the transformation.  Read more.  Put down the brow pencil.  Live.  And be happy.

I hope that there is some kind of justice. It's very sad and it doesn't even mention the family and I could only imagine how they feel.
