I have sensitive skin and I had an irritation problem with my guy mode shaving and my allergist thought it might be from those moisturizing strips that are built into most razors now. I switched to a razor without one and it seems to be clearing up slowly.

Try changing razors or shave cream. Also replace razors with strips frequently

Hi clarisab,

I would suggest to maybe try one of the rotary electric shavers like the (Philip's philishave), but take extreme care in the sensitive areas, they can rip the hair out as I found, this leaves a sore patch.

When I use to shave my legs, I'd come out with at least five or six big cuts. Yeaah, freaking awesome, I know.

I just used those cheap disposable razors. Make sure they're sharp and not dull. I usually just used a bar of soap, actually. O-o; If you're slow and careful, you should be okay.

I use the gillet Venus with built that built in gel bar. I've managed to cut myself with an electric razor (odd right) but doing it like I should be doing it comes second nature to me and I have never once cut myself useing this. I highly recomend it. ^_^ *I know this is a bit late, a week or so...but hey*

i would shave everyday in the shower and also used a bar of soap. my hair grew back slow enough where i could feel for the nubble. my legs would be smooth here, a little nubble there and in under ten minutes i could have nice smooth legs. i never had problems with irritation. i would nick myself every now and then though.

I've stopped shaving my legs, but I feel like I can still offer some advice since I have many years of experience. The mistake that a lot of people make is not replacing their razor often enough. For me, 3 uses was about all I could get out of the standard razor. Also, don't be shy about laying down the shaving cream. Another trick is that I often used men's shaving cream. There was this one brand (can't recall) that was particularly great. It was cheap and in a black can...don't know if that helps. Finally, try not to pull the blade too fast. I'd always get razor burn if I tried to shave too fast...which was quite often.

One of my friends used to use some kind of electric razor to shave her legs. You might look into that. I don't know how good it is though because I've never used one.

I have very sensitive skin and I used to be a swimmer :/ I had problems. Anyhow I always kept shaving. my thighs really would look bad like a 14 year old with a case of acne. So I now use waxing and an electric razor actually. as long as you go nice and slow against your hair growth you can get 99%. If your first starting, good god please use the razor *before* the wax. If you do get a razor, try one that vibrates, they do reduce irritation a lot.

Mindy, that would be so awesome of you.  Please make the edit for me, and thank you so much!

      M.   The term bigender works for me because after taking the time to explore my feelings, I kept coming to the same conclusion, that while I felt an overpowering need to express my inner woman, I also enjoyed being a man.  I realized that my personality was equal parts man and woman and to be happy and fulfilled, I needed to express both sides.  There are challenges living a life of two-gender expression, but I'll expand on some of those in future posts.     Hugs,   Sally

I thought Hey, I can't be experiencing Gender destroyer because it doesn't fit the narrative, but Hey I can. I am experiencing mild discomfort in relation to my gender. Because and that can be a form of mild form of it this forum because their elements of my gender that are out of alignment with my sign gender at birth. There are elements of my gender I have been holding back on some I did not even know for fear it did not fit was told was not very manly or in some other way not correct for someone who is an amab. I tried embracing and expressing some of these parts of me even for just a little bit every once in a while and it feels like a relief to me like a weight has been lifted.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums @violet r   I think we all were scared with our first post here on TPF. I hope you come to find this site as welcoming as an old friend. Not knowing the type of retail you're in, it is hard to know how they will react to your coming out. I would hope that if it's part of a larger corporation they may have corporate policies supporting/protecting you once you decide to come out publicly. No one here will rush you, or try to slow you down, once you've decided to come out. Some of us are secret sisters, and others of us are as flamboyant as they come. The cool this is you get to choose. You be you.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome aboard, Violet. What a pretty name!   You are among friends here. We are all on a journey, with things in common despite our individual uniqueness. I hope that makes sense!

Welcome Violet.  It's been awhile since i found this space with so many who understand the struggle to simply be ourselves in a society that often disapproves,  It isn't an easy path but being together we can share all the bumps and the joys. You are not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

I'm sorry it didn't work out for the new job. Nothing to keep you from being on the search. I had a coworker who used to walk out of the locker room saying; "I was looking for a job with I found this one and I'll keep searching for the next one. Never let them think you're comfortable and settled."   The coffee has just finished brewing, and we have a HVAC technician coming in about 30 minutes to do an annual system check.   It's time to get out of my Pj's.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
