Has Anyone Ever Lost Their Facial Hair After Startong Hrt?

.

Honey...Some report that their beards grows a little slower and instead of shaving every day, they do it every other day...

But the beard will still have just as many hairs and will need to be removed...

The good news is that on HRT the body hair will mostly cease to grow...what you do get will be mostly peach fuzz.

I wish that there were better news...

I was doing laser removal about 10 months before I started HRT and since then it still is growing but only in the patches that I have left to remove. Unfortunately for me it seems to be growing at the same speed as before hormones.

I would definately start looking into some type of hair removal if you want it gone.

Good Luck!

Oogie hon,

Like Donna Jean said facial and neck hair is pretty much untouched by hormones, i did 1 year of laser to get rid of the dark hairs and so far 1 year of electrolysis to get rid of the remaining white/gray hairs, i have at least another year to go, my by body hair has slowed to a crawl and i can go 3 weeks between shaves with out it being noticeable, my chest hair has completely stopped except 1 or 2 hairs i pluck once every 3 months or so, one of the MtF that live with me is 25 and hormones have done almost nothing to slow her body hair growth so you see YMMV.

A couple things you might want to keep in mind, if you need to lose weight do it now before you get on hormones, many find it difficult to lose after being on them for awhile, myself included.

If you have not started growing your head hair i would suggest getting started soon, for me at least it took quite awhile to get to a length long enough for a feminine style.

Voice is one of the harder things to master, it can take from a few months to a couple years, so the earlier you start the better, i am at 18 months working on my voice and though everyone says it is fine and i am never clocked i feel it still needs work, there is nothing that will give you away quicker than your voice.

For transition to be successful you need a good job or multiple jobs, to pay for everything, total costs can run up to 100k depending if you need FFS, facial hair removal can cost as much as SRS depending how hairy you are, i am lucky, i do not need or want FFS, so far laser and electrolysis has cost me around 9k and i expect in the end it will be at least 15k, my SRS will cost me $17.500.00 and a few thousand more for supplies and hotel accommodations for the 2 weeks i will be staying near my surgeon. In the end i plan on spending around 40k just for transition costs, clothes and such are another matter altogether.

Gee what we go through to finally be who we should have been born as.

Hi Oogie ,

I've been on HRT since Oct/06 - as far as the beard goes, I believe it slowed the growth rate considerably , but took a long time (years) - softened it as well.

When I started , I could see the shadow in about 8 hrs.(had to carry razor and m/up)and now can go morning to next morning (24hrs.) with just touching up m/up. Growth definetely slowed. My beard has thinned from electro - still a work in progress - , but I don't think HRT affected that at all.

As far as shaving - I found a shaving gel that claims to have a growth retardant in it - Aveeno is the brand name - that I believe helps some. I've tried using it for a while , then using regular shaving cream , and notice a difference in growth for myself anyways.

At the very least, you get a close shave and the product has ingredients that soothe the skin and make it feel very smooth - They have excellent skin products as well.

I should add - were all different , and HRT doesn't affect us all in the same ways !

Good Luck in your journey !

Jackie :)

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
