I Can't Believe I Finally Did It

After many years of struggle and hoping it would go away I can finally admit to myself that I am truly a woman inside. My thanks to my wonderful therapist in Seattle who has helped me for 4 years. I am scared as hell but ready (and approved) to start HRT. I have read this forum for years and for someone who has GID this post has been a lifesaver. I am happy to be amoung friends

Hi Pamela!

Looks like you and I are both getting ready to begin HRT about the same time, however I have not seen my endrocologist yet. I see him in 3 weeks.

I too have fought this very hard, and have tried and tried to ignore it to see if it would go away. Instead of it going away, trying to ignore and suppress these feelings has only made my realization of being a true woman inside even stronger. I have felt really stressed out lately, and I believe it is due to me trying to run away from being who I truly am. I am now finding that I must get on HRT ASAP.

I have been working with my therapist for a little over a year now, and she has also approved me to start HRT. I too am scared, however I am looking forward to taking this to the next level.

Congratulations on getting to this milestone in your journey. I know how you feel when you say that you are a little scared as I was so scared that I postponed mine for 2 months cause I was frightened. I have to say that I am no longer frightened as I have been on hormones for a while now and things couldn't be greater. I find that they allow me to get in touch with my emotions more than in the past (everyone used to call me Spock from Star Trek). I trully hope that you both find some peace on accomplishing this level in your journey.
