So Disappointed

I have another appointment to speak to someone this thurs. This place is laser-centric as well, but they offered me this deal. I pay for one laser session. If after 21 days, there is not a significant loss of hair, I get another session free on a different setting, THEN, after another 21 days, if there's STILL not a significant hair loss, I get the equivalent amount of electrolysis free.

That's a lot of hoops to jump through. I wonder why they make it so hard in Orlando. Weird...

Um, we are the home of the Casey Anthony trial.

I can see why they would be so weird about hair, then. Hair banding evidence and stuff.

Seriously though, I hope one of the things they do to your face actually works after all of this crap.

Wow, what a suprise. In all but a few rare exceptions I have yet to hear laser as a long term solution but inevitibly those currently undergoing laser sing the praises of it.

Honey, I was paying $55 per hour. I timed the electrologist and she was doing one hair every 12 to 15 seconds - say 4.5 hairs a minute when she hit her stride

That would depend on the method of elecro. Some are slower per hair (up to a minute I hear) but have other benefits.

Absolutely correct......

And some are faster.....

My electrologist did one hair and tweezed it out over and over...

It would of been faster if she used a higher setting and only tweezed after 5-10 hairs....

Either way....none of the 19,500 hairs seem to of returned...

Well, I had laser on my chin - I bought a discount series of 5 sessions for $99 - by the forth session she was having trouble finding enough dark hair so she spread the treatment area for the last two sessions - using as high a setting as my skin would allow (extra pale) so no more laser for me, it worked on the couple of hundred actual dark hairs that I had so stubble no longer shows.

I am sure that laser cannot help me anymore and my skin is very sensitive to electrolysis, so for the moment I am working on the very unsatisfactory method of trying to will the hair not to grow.

Good luck finding a good electrologist for all of those blond hairs.

Love ya,

Sally

American Laser Centre does not have a very good reputation. I suggest you call them and ask for the settings (joules, pulse width and spot size)used on you for each session. Also ask them for the exact name of the machine used to treat you. Post all the information on hairtell.com and see what people there have to say. You were most likely, being undertreated- treated at ineffective settings. You should ask for a full refund!

I suggest you find a good dermatologist ( not in some spa) who uses Alexandrite laser. And do your research well. You must make sure you're being treated at effective settings!

Electrolysis is always an option. :)

At the place I get my laser done, there are photos of a few men who have been there to get laser done on their face. They're not having their beards totally removed, just the areas of their beard area where they don't want to have to shave any more. I guess goatee trimming is a pain so they just got everything else but their goatee area lasered.
