Friendly Vs. High Powered

So, I just called in to my LHR place today and rescheduled my appointment to be with the really nice lady that I got by accident last time I went.

She was super nice and talked to me, and made sure I was comfy and all. Compared with the other lady who would sound really sympathetic saying "I'm sorry" every time I winced in pain and started crying and stuff (does it hurt anybody else that much? or is it just because I have RIDICULOUSLY course hair, pale skin, and tons of hair??)

Anyways,

the reason I was actually considering NOT doing that

is because the other lady (the one whose sessions I want to kill myself after) uses WAY more Joules (probably why it hurts so bad), and so I figured that it was getting rid of the hair better...

but then I realized that I didn't know if that was true... Does a higher Joules setting make the hair disappear more or does it just hurt more??

PLUS, I figured that, with the ridiculous emotional state I am always in after the painful appointments, maybe it's better to go slower and be more comfortable anyways??

Anyways.

I think I was told that a higher intensity will kill the hair follicles more effectively, so less sessions may be required. But yeah, the downside is that it hurts a LOT more! Personally, I agreed to the higher intensity (maybe I'm a masochist lol) and was able to tolerate it fairly well, but the laser still made me jump and sometimes bought tears to my eyes. Especially when it hit sensitive areas like my upper lip.

Just go with whatever is best for you... if the pain makes it too distressing, ask for a lower intensity.
