Be relaxed with electrolysis

Recommended Posts

I went to my electrologist tonight for a one hour session. For the last 1 1/2 months my electrologist was working on my upper lip.

The last couple times I went I was dreading it. I knew there was going to be pain and indeed there was. It became unbearable, even though the electrologist tried to make it more bearable.

What I found that if you go in a relaxed or a meditative state, electrolysis is so much easier. The pain becomes much less important when you can concentrate on the goal of no more facial hair.

I can't believe how stress makes so much of a difference.

You might want to try LMX (no script needed in the US) or EMLA (script needed) if the pain is still intolerable. It numbs the upper lip and helps lessen the pain.

Rock, ON, girl!

Dang! You know, I start laser treatments and electrolysis in November and THIS is what I dread about all else about transition. When my time comes, I'm going to persuade me HRT doctor to draft me up scrip for bupivacaine and tank up on the aforesaid. Most likely, viscous gel applied topically is the way to go. However, this is surgical-grade solution and can really tank you out.

Yeah, I'm a pain sissy. Can't help it. Born this way.

Sure enough, it takes cajones to do all these things ... just to eventually LOSE one's cajones. Funny, that. Jeesh, what a life. Worth it though? Aye, verily, methinks!

Peace & Kudos :friends: Lacey Lynne

I was told that electrolysis is more painful than laser. I wonder if that will stop me dead in my tracks! The upper lip, sends me shivers when I think of the pain!

I use Emla cream and Tylenol Extra Strength when getting laser and I figure I will be using the same thing for Electrolysis. I would have seen about getting Tylenol 3 with codine but that requires a prescription and I wouldn't be able to drive using that either. What else is there for pain relief I can't think of anything.

I used to apply an otc lidocane cream about 20 minutes prior to having my upper lip done, it helped lots, even though my upper lip is pretty much hair free now there are still a few fine white hairs, my electrologist tried something she bought for numbing areas that are painful, not just the upper lip, i was her Guinea pig and she did not charge me, she just wondered how well it would work, she called it BLT it has 3 deadening agents Benzocaine 20%, Lidocaine 6% and Tetracaine 4%, she left it on about 20 minutes then started on my upper lip, i hardly felt a thing, it works for both laser and electrolysis, here is a link to one site that sells it.

I guess the pain wouldn't I hope it wouldn't stop me from moving forward. Everyone has to deal with pain and some more sensitive than others. The first time I had laser I used Emla gel instead of cream which wasn't as affective. I also hadn't taken any Tylenol. I was flinching and reacting to every zap and was in tears.

I'd look at all the timetables for the various things you mentioned.  Like, how fast will the issuing state change your birth certificate?  Would that birth certificate have your new name on it, if you changed your name?  Finding that out is the first step, I'd guess.  If the birth certificate would have your new name on it, I'd do the name change first.  If not, then you could maybe do the birth certificate and name change simultaneously.  And if WA is like most other states, getting your license would happen after you've got those other documents done, and is just a simple trip to the DMV.   Whatever you end up doing, Passport will be the last.  Because if you show up at an airport with a passport in your old name, you'll probably get asked a bunch of questions.  Airports are practically a voluntary prison, so I would make sure to have all the I's dotted and T's crossed and everything matching exactly when it comes to international travel.    So: 1. ask questions 2. Name change and birth certificate. 3. license 4. passport

ThePirateBay is still up and running, after countless attempts to shut it down.  There's always an option for keeping things up.  And as for the users...a good quality VPN can bypass a lot of the government's tracking ability.    Ultrasurf is a free VPN used by folks in repressive areas like China to access the web without interference.  You can also use a paid VPN like SurfShark, which actually lets you select which country you want to "be in" for internet purposes.

I guess maybe some people believe he's fighting for us... I sure don't.  I saw a sign on election day that read "Jesus is my Savior, Trump is my President."  Like, really?  Trump's name next to Jesus?  I. Don't. Think. So.  For me, its darn near blasphemous.  I have no illusions about a Trump presidency.  The only thing I can say is that it will likely be "less bad" for me and mine than the alternative.  But it won't be enough for us to want to put the 50-star version of the American flag back on the flagpoles in our county anytime soon.

@MaeBe, going back in U.S. history a ways, the SCOTUS set the standard for what constitutes pornography.  I assure you that nothing on this site qualifies under that standard.  So the U.S. government is not going to be taking any actions against it.  What certain governors or state legislators think is pornographic is not relevant here.  We do have 1st Amendment protection, as well.  There is no reason for any government official to look into IP addresses or other data, and would have to submit a search warrant if they wanted any such thing.  As @VickySGVnoted, the site owner is not a U.S. citizen and lives overseas.    Anything is possible, but that doesn't mean it's likely.  Rest assured that we have the backs of every member of Transgender Pulse.  And me and Vicky know some damned good attorneys.    Carolyn Marie

It will be the end of January and nearly the end of March at the earliest before anything more will go against us, and even then there is going to be long drawn issues before a court system will even let him clean his fingernails.  Certainly, take reasonable steps to go forward, but panic will make it worse.  There are legal firms that your local LGBTQ center can refer you to for a bit of money, but not what panic will cost you.

@MaeBe  The potential for that to happen is virtually nil and if it is going to happen we will have plenty of time to formalize actions. .  Our site owner who is easy enough to identify here is a foreign national who also has to be cognizant of the rules of many other jurisdictions throughout the world, some of whom are an even bigger threat on the child morality thing.  In plain words many plans are on the table since the Admin Staff is made fully aware of what is pending  PLANS ARE THERE, but this is a public forum where stating what they are is not the way to go.  I spent the afternoon in a Transgender Center and the assessment we have had is that many things can be tried and can be shouted about but to put them in action will place those who wish to in an even worse situation.  Considering that sites exist that sell material about exploited minors that are never or rarely touched and the First Amendment Rights issues that cut deeply both ways.

You forgot rolls and rolls of tinfoil, so you can keep making those hats...😉   The following words are not mine, but after reading them elsewhere earlier I thought that they were too good not to share:   "The Machiavellian brilliance of Trump's approach is that he never has to follow through on promises, he just needs to continue to make the poor and vulnerable believe he is there fighting for them. As the saying goes, it is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled."

Do all the things. There isn’t enough time to do all the things.

There are definitely things that could be done to make the site persist, but what if the data that exists? What of the site that could bring its owner up against the law? We all share in responsibility for the content posted, but are there plans?

Every Trans legislator / official   I know of that was up for re-election won there seats back a few with the benefit of "incumbent" listed on the ballot.  Once in office we seem to do a pretty decent job compared to Cis/Het  I do tend to side with those I know today saying Trans were no where near a part of their voting decisions.  Who knows, maybe we have overblown that part of the situation, but for us it was close and personal and we ran into too may trees to see the forest.

Well, I'm relieved to not have an upcoming Harris presidency.  And I'm truly surprised that attempts to manipulate the election didn't succeed.   But...that doesn't go so far as to be delighted in a Trump presidency.  And my worries certainly aren't over, they've just changed form. Now I get to worry about the militant leftists causing havoc like back in 2020.  Maybe another pLandemic, or economic collapse.  I still feel like 2025 is going to be pretty dang rough.    Whether you love the outcome of this election, loathe it, or feel indifferent... get ready.  Have some money saved.  Extra fuel, food, water, and medicine at home.  Power generation equipment, communication equipment, and defense equipment if you feel the need (I certainly do).

That video was so hard to watch.  They truly treated like an animal ... and even animals shouldn't be treated that way. Yes, I hope there was punishment for the jail guards.
