Thanks for sharing this, Heather. I absolutely love this song. Our smooth jazz station (KWJZ) here in the Seattle area seems to play this song at least twice a week. I never get tired of hearing it!

Wolf Hoffmann - Pomp & Circumstance... I can’t place where I first heard this but I think despite it being newish, it reminds me of my college graduation celebration...although I like this version much much better.

That version came out on an Accept CD called death Row in 1994.

Accept was a German metal band that formed in the 70s

Wolf Hoffmann is very accomplished in classical music as well as metal and other genres.

Hoffmann reminds me a little of David Garrett stylistically.

I was reminded of the only singer I know who had hit singles with 3 different bands and a solo hit - HOW LONG with his pub band ACE, TEMPTED with SQUEEZE, THE LIVING YEARS with Mike & THE MECHANICS and DON'T SHED A TEAR as a solo. Can't think of another person who managed such a feat and yet I bet few if any can say they ever hear of him but might recognize the songs.

Discovered a new progressive rock band called "This Winter Machine."  Listening to the album "The Man Who Never Was."  Great musicians and their lead singer, Al Wynter is a perfect voice for their brand of music.

Thanks @Teri Anne - While Pomp and Circumstance is a peculiarly British piece of music - I have not problem with cover versions that give an alternative view - and this this is very much one of them which I enjoyed.

The version on the original Accept CD is better IMO  but it wouldn't download.

@gina-nicole-t That is a wonderful track. I was lucky enough to see Mike + The Mechanics at a concert in Oxford (about 30 miles from where I live) a few years ago - a great evening of music.
