Today I listened to myself without becoming nauseous. Big Victory!

I trekked deep into the outer suburbs of Boston with my best local buddy to the land of Concord where a good far buddy and his music lives. I hadn't seen him or his wife in person in . . . since hell froze over.

I've written a new song, so he asked to hear it, but with a massive audience like that, I couldn't sing it live so I played a rough demo I'd recorded with my phone. And I all listened all the way through, without self-judgment. It's at least a good song they've know about since its beginnings back in November. But an awful recording. And he understands process and also didn't comment except to ask about the lyrics. I also played live a few instrumentals which are easier for me-- no self-judgment of my voice or lyrics with those. All-in-all it was a great breakout of my isolation to do the trip. And since I don't drive anymore, riding along felt like a real adventure in the splendid sunny but cool day. I also felt a bit more like my real self—that feminine side can't help but have her say these days—and I was OK with that.

Also, I'm listening to: "No Lovechild" by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Have a sweet Pride Month!

hugs,

Davie

He's a phone call to his parents
He's a bible by the bed
He's the t-shirt that I'm wearing
He's the song stuck in my head
He's solid and he's steady
Like the Allegheny runs
He knows just where he's going
And he's proud of where he's from

Finally getting to Rayna (fka Gavin) Russom's solo work. Right now, I gotta give all the boys a rest and get to all the music our trans sisters have been making, even if the results will be pretty mixed.

About a month ago, I heard "You Say" by Lauren Daigle on the radio. It was what I needed to hear it brought sad tears, yet by the end happy tears & hope. It still does today, a beautiful song.

Strange that my last post didn't embed the URLs. Wonder what I did wrong?

Hi @Nikki-C The same happened to me a while ago :) If you copy and paste the URL at the top of the browser screen, the video won't be embedded. You have to click "Share" (just below the video screen, next to the likes and dislikes) and copy the (different) URL that you are provided.

Wonder if anyone remembers Dominic Triano - Canadian - had one of the stints with James Gange when Joe Walsh left...
