Im not sure if anyone else reads IGN but I found this recent article to be enlightening... mainly because the author's history with gaming is very similar to my own.

My history with video games is simmalar to the authers aswell. I did use video games as as a securaty blanket as a safe place to be myself. In any game when you chose your gender i would always chose to have a female one and if i ever had a friend over and they asked why i would just tell them i wanted to see what was diffrent in the game if the main chractor was a girl.

Wow that article did open up my eyes, and how I got my love of the Sims. I guess I live bi curiously through, usually in multi gender households I usually end up obsessing with the females.

Same here except its a PC for me, Its a cycle, when life is going good and I have plenty of stuff to do I find it rare that I play games. However if I am depressed I will install a good long RPG and get completely wrapped up in it, it is weird that sometimes you don't notice these things until someone points it out. That article was expertly written, and to be honest the author was kinda brave for writing it for the front page of IGN... it received almost unanimously good comments, which is rare on IGN so I think it hit home for a lot of people.
