Nutz -- already had other TG stuff planned for the day. After all, its only a little ways up the 101 FWY!! (300 miles).

Carolyn, I didn't know you were in San Jose. I've been here (SJ) for the last month on business and have been to the DeFrank center several times to support groups and other activities. It's a very nice center with a great library and a lot going on. Unfortunately I leave in the morning and will miss the event.

Attendees are encouraged to "wear your glittery/gothy/wildest best with pride."

Really? Really??

I guess the idea is to remind people that flamboyant clothing is what being trans is all about so suppressing of such be darned and let it all out?

:)

I'm wondering if people just there to show support would get a chart like when you go to certain zoos.

"Is that a gender queer or no...I think it's an androgyne. Look, Betty! It's an androgyne! They're usually nocturnal!"

Wow, talk about selective quotations. The "wear your glittery best..." note was in regards to the cocktail and dance party. I suppose all the parties I've been to over the years, wherein genetic girls wore flashy, sparkly, sexy cocktail dresses, were celebrations of genetic female weirdness and over-extravagance, too. I should have boycotted them.

My advice for you overly critical types is this: lighten up! :)

I'm told all the time by my family that I need to take things more seriously.

It must be a regional thing because I've never been invited to a goth formal party. I find it amusing.

If *I* were to be critical, I would say calling an event at an LGBT facility a 'TG day of visibility'. Aren't TGs visible there year round? I could kinda understand if there was a big group outing at a sports event or something. This is more like TGs segregating from the rest of the population and having a private event.

But I don't care how they run it. Again, I find it amusing. I hope everyone wears their glittery/gothy/wildest best and finds exactly what they're looking for at an event like that.
