Hi All!

There's a rather interesting show currently being aired in Australia called 'Ladette to Lady"

The aim of this series is to select random Aussie women who are known for 'rugged manners' and/or reckless behaviour. These women are sent off the a 'Ladies Mannerism" school which is like a type of 'boot camp' in England where strict teachings are introduced in 'old traditional fashions' to change the lives of these girls.

I'd think it would be cool to be nominated to participate for the experience but I have a few questions that boggle the goggle.. I think it is great to be given a potentially life changing opportunity but I do question these 'old traditional fashions', it seems that these girls are being tought to address males as superior to them and serve them in a sense (which I really do not agree with).. That's what I felt from it anyway.

The other thing is if they fail to comply or 'pass the class' they do not qualify as "Ladies" in their eyes, which to me is a bit norrow minded and steroetypical.

You get to see the progress of the participants through the good, the bad, rebellious spates and the stresses these girls have to cope with.

Interesting show to watch!

Gawd.... this reminds me of an old joke I heard somewhere about middle school I think....

An australian cowboy has never had a girlfriend. He decides he ought to settle down, and meets this australian cowgirl. They start hanging out with each other and drinking and wrestling and throwing knives and fighting and doing basically whatever aussie cowboys and cowgirls do.

One day, he asks her, "You want to wrestle?"

She says, "Not today -- I'm on my period."

He says, "What do you mean by period?"

She says, "You know, it's all bloody down there."

He says, "What does that mean?"

She says, "I'll show you" and pulls down her jeans.

He screams, and yells, "No Gosh darned wonder it's all bloody down there. Someone's gone and cut your penis off!!!"

(This joke works better if an Australian exchange student just moved into your school.)
