Don't you have to pay to subscribe to watch shows on the net?

Nope, not at all. I pay for my internet connection, after that I look for the free sites. I just make sure my ad blocker, anti virus, and other security is up to date. I watch a ton of tv shows, and around awards time there are a lot of new movies up in DVD quality, some even before they hit the theaters. I've not been to the movie theater in almost 10 years. Here's a review:

I've watched two episodes so far. I may have missed the first one or two. It's an OK show. There are four (I think) pairs or story arcs, but all 8 girls know each other. All but two are young, all but two are white. I find myself connecting with some and not others, mostly because I like certain of their personalities and not others. Kind of like picking out friends you want to hang with. A lot of the issues they face are real, some are pretty silly, and there is the usual reality show contrivances.

For instance, four girls go shoe shopping in a small boutique store. We only see one salesman. They come right out and tell him (for no particular reason) that they are all trans. He gets all nervous and says some weird stuff, like "you have man feet and they're going to be harder to fit than women's feet." This before he even measures one foot. And of course, he has to pretend that he can't see the camera three feet from his face, and we're supposed to pretend that he has no idea anything unusual is going on. Right.

There was another scenario in which two of the girls go on a blind double date. Again, everyone pretends that this is a private thing, even though there is a camera watching the whole thing in a restaurant. After a while, you wonder what isn't contrived and scripted.

The one pair of older people involve a transwoman and her long time S/O, who is having real problems adjusting. That is one story arc that seems more real. But again, what is scripted and what is genuine is hard to figure.

So, yeah, its kind of entertaining to watch, but i take it with a pound of salt and a healthy dose of skepticism.

Just catching up on this. I agree the show is very staged all too many times, but I am enjoying a few select parts of the show. It seems to have enough sincere moments that I really identify with. I cried when one of the girls (AiYana) met with here mother, whom she hadn't seen for three years. And another scene where the girls where at a bridal shop and they all decided to gown up as a wedding party. At one point the 'bridesmaids' all look to the bride and it was seemed very genuine and heart felt. I was touch by that scene as well. I'm a softy..... What can I say.
