This a suggested text for an e-mail asking other trans* folks to participate in the National Trans* Survey that is coming up on August 19th.

You might want to spread the word to gender variant friends. The more of us who participate the more we will have a voice in this world about what we face as trans* people.

Please do not compromise your anonymity but if you can pass it on safely please do so.

You know how important trans issues are to me. That’s why I’m asking for your help now.

Almost everything we know about the experiences of trans people in the United States comes from the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. That study is being done again -- this time, it is called the 2015 U.S. Trans Survey -- and I want to make sure you knew about it.

This study is our community's go-to resource for helping the public understand trans people. It's shown us the number of trans people who've faced discrimination or harassment in employment, housing, school, health care, and in many other areas of their lives.

That’s why I’ve pledged to support the U.S. Trans Survey when it becomes available on August 19th.

We do have to sign up though? Correct? I will be out of the country on the release date?

I am not sure how it all works but i did sign up so that i could fill out the form when it comes out. They are making a big effort to get as much participation as possible. I think you would get e-mail notice and be able to fill out the information even if out of the country on line.
