Resolution

Working on this. It needs attention, but it carries an undertone that permeates my morning:

Time marches on

As cliche runs rampant

Autumn's chroma begins to wane

The days seem shorter

Though measures remain constant

And Death, the inveterate porter,

Calls out to her seclusion

(She cannot abide immuring)

And the Portal seems ever alluring

"Take my hand; feel it's welcome

Embrace Aeon!

And plunge into the eternal!

Where rest is dissolute."

Yet she cannot succumb;

His supplication she must refute

And the days grow shorter

As she stares at the Porter

And waits for the morning to dawn.

OK, great first draft. Could even be done.

BTW, When the woman inside you gains more strength and power than the outside world, I know you will fully emerge. What will your sequel poem be then? I continue to see layers of your cocoon breaking away and It's nice to see you back here posting again. One day girlfriend, one day soon. I want to be one that can say welcome to female. I shall burst forth from this cocoon when Charon makes his crossing to meet me.

And I will then become the apotheosis of all my poetry.

Oddly since being blessed with sobriety and transition i no longer see the welcome embrace that i saw some time ago. It has taken time to turn my back and walk away but the sweet hand of life has taken my hand today.

I'm not saying i don't like the poem. I do.

Thanks Charlize. Believe it or not this one is about the hope that resolve brings. While the allure of death's portal remains in front of her in the Autumn of her life, she stands firm, knowing that the morning will dawn; that she will not of her own accord embrace Aeon. Time will run it's course. The morning will be resplendent. :-)
