hypospadias

i think i have hypospadias i haven't gotten any confirmation as i was young when i went to the hospital but i will explain as i am curious about the condition and what other people think some say it is a intersex condition. when i was younger urinating standing up would hurt and i couldn't do it i remember telling my mum i remember a few visits to the hospital one i will never forget they put me under and when i awoke i looked down at my penis and it was all dark and charred looking i remember screaming in horror i dont remember much after but when i ask my mum about she just tells me i got circumcised  and i am circumcised  at the time writing this i also remember my testis would go missing at times and i could push them up into my groin obviously cant do this now.

now onto the discussion of me now sometimes having a erection hurts well most of the time it hurts and i find the tip of my penis gets discomfort easily i dont wear underwear because i find to irritating i was thinking is this because of the surgery or circumcised  i had on my penis when i was younger. about 2 years ago i started getting pain around my abdomen and i admit i have started feeling weird and different about my sexuality since this started i haven't explained this all in depth as much as i could but if u have hypospadias does this sound familiar to you feel free to ask me questions also urinating takes a long time for me as i am waiting for it to dribble out if i dont wait and let it finish i feel like i need to go to the toilet again. i am 26 years old as of this moment when i went to the hospital about my penis i was 4-7 i dont remember the age accurately

Hi Dav and welcome to Laura's.  I cannot answer your medical questions but i would certainly recommend you see your doctor sooner rather than later.  Difficulty urinating can be caused by any number of things, some of which might need immediate care.  Please do take care of yourself.  A doctor would be the best one to answer your questions and could possibly make things considerably easier, safer and healthier.

Hugs,

Hi Dav and welcome to Laura's.  Charlize gave you some great advice.  Make that appointment and see that doctor as soon as you can.  They will be able to help sort things out for you and work with you to figure out what's going on.

Hi Dav,

Yeah, that sounds familiar.  I was circumcised as a baby, and don't remember it, but even that didn't eliminate the evidence of being born intersex.  I always had difficulty with my aim peeing while standing since my urine exit is not at the end, but rather out from the under side, near the end so that it travels at an angle of about 45 degrees or so.  I also have lots of extra skin, and a broad dark line on the underside of the phallus all the way to the scrotum.  The dark line narrows over the scrotum, becoming a raised line along the perineum.  My smallish testes did go up inside when I was young.  It never hurt to pee though.  I don't need to aim anymore since I always sit down nowadays, so no problem.  I live as a woman, and once I have GCS my atypical anatomy will be no more.  I agree with the others, go see a doctor and get checked out.  That way you'll know a lot more about yourself.  My diagnosis was hypospadias with eunuchoid body habitus.  They haven't found the underlying cause yet in my case.

hugs,

Stephanie

if i did have hypospadia then when i went to the hospital when i was younger they whould have moved the urethra as it is at the tip now and what i read is they use the circumcise skin to form the new urethra

when i asked my mum she says i was circumcised because my foreskin was to tight when i remember when it happened my penis looked like it had been burnt as it was all black and chard looking so i dont know maybe it was just a circumcised.

Hi Stephanie, I found you reply very interesting and informative. I do have a question though, what is eunuchoid habitus

Hi Mike,

Eunochoid habitus occurs when there aren't enough hormones to go through puberty properly.  My arms and legs are unusually long compared to my torso.  My shoulders and hips are both kinda broad for my slender build.  Many with eunochoid body habitus are soft and heavy, but some like myself are slender.  I also have long fingers and toes compared to most.  I had very little body hair or odor, and my facial hair was sparse enough to pluck out without needing electrolysis.  My testes never added much T apparently, and so I don't even require Spiro.  Since starting E my hair has improved enormously, it always suffered from lack of hormones.  I am very fortunate not to have too many problems associated with my condition, thermo regulation (body heat) is one problem I have always had, and it made me susceptible to hypothermia (my core body temperature drops too easily).  I am also happy that my intersex condition made my face look kinda more youthful/feminine than most (big problem growing up though).

hugs,

Stephanie

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!!! A beautiful milestone.    I hope to see you tonight...I just have to stay awake long enough!!

It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I think we tend to be overly critical of our looks, whether we're trying to express ourselves as masculine, feminine or anywhere along the gender spectrum. For me, I use photos as a way to track my progress, to help me find my style and look and to help me find ways to improve myself in posture, looks, make-up, style......   I didn't really think about our FB avatar being public but then realized that when people search they do see it.   Since I'm not out to anyone but my wife, therapist, priest and people here, my FB page remains "that guy." I have created a Bitmoji that is relatively androgynous moving slowly towards the feminine. Long gray hair, earrings, softer features...I'm transitioning it along with myself. :-)
