Has anyone ever found someone in their lives that has been a true friend, a confidant, someone that was accepting of the lifestyle we have chosen?

For me, it has been a dear friend that I had the privilege of knowing for the past 19 years. We met at the age of 10 back in grade school. Her and I got along very well, have remained close to this day. I came out to her 4 years ago this month. At first she was surprised, but soon became estatic, accepting and embraced my choice. Soon afterwards there were shopping trips, outings while dressed and the odd sleepover. She even helped me with doing make up for the first time. She is the sweetest person I know, she is more than an ally or a friend. She is the sister I've always wanted, and I love her dearly and am thankful to have her in my life.

Always good  to have a confidant. I recently came out to a coworker, and it has been amazingly helpful for me. Knowing I have someone I can talk openly to has really been beneficial. The more we talk, the easier it gets.

I have a wonderful friend that I met when we moved to a new neighborhood.  She was going home and I was out front doing yard work.  She pulled over to say hi and introduce herself.  I wasn't fully out at the time but the signs were there if you looked close enough.  She must have...  LOL  Our front property is higher than the street level so she was eye level with my feet...that were in dark maroon flip flops and dark pink toenails.  And she noticed...but didn't say anything.  Next day she came by again to say hi, same time, and during a brief pause during our talk, she said, "I just love that nail color, what is it?".  After I got done blushing I shared the brand and color with her.  That was the start of a wonderful friendship.

She was older than me but we shared a lot of similar interest especially when it came to cloths and shoes.  She was a good 4" taller than me but otherwise, our dress size etc. we were the same.  Most shoes too.  We did a lot of sharing and swaps.  And oh how her husband despised me.  Her adult Son too...  But her adult daughter was ok with me.  She appreciated the friendship I extended to her mom as she knew what a cranky old BEEP her dad was.  I personally would have to put him in the mentally verbally abusive category.

Sadly, she recently became ill with Parkinson's.  It progressed very quickly and she ended up in long term care and recently passed away.  It was very sad and difficult to see.  Her daughter was so sweet after her mom passed.  She gave me many things from her mom that her mom said she wanted me to have.

They sold the home they were in and the dad moved in with the daughter.  Poor girl...

My girlfriend Jamie (another MTF). She's just a few years older than me, and I jokingly/affectionately call her my minion. But it she is the one a curl up to for comfort and assurance.

The one thing about this position, if you want more hours just wait and be flexible.  I’m now working until 7:30 pm instead of 4:30.

Welcome Mattie! I would recommend the first step is finding a gender therapist and see if you are or aren't. Then one of the biggest steps if you are do you want to start hormone replacement therapy. The decision should be thought long and hard. There are irreversible effects. Looking forward to your next post! Take care!

She wound up falling back asleep after turning her alarm off. I woke her up at 6:20. She is due to work at 6. She decided to just call in.       MaeBe that is what this thread was started for. A chat place to share our days and thoughts for the day.   Hugs   Kymmie

@Willow, it's great to hear about your wife's progress! It's also fun to hear about day-to-day stuff, like work. It's nice to think of this thread as a kind of morning chit chat place to go, like if we had a big table at The Daily Grind and were just listening and sharing over our morning brews.
