Another issue then was experiencing the contempt that the general public seemed to have for military “short hairs”.  Our country’s involvement in Vietnam being the principal reason.

Yeah.  I was drafted in '70.  I was not a fan of the war, but I was willing to do my duty as a citizen.  It still pisses me off about how the guys coming home were treated.

Hi Jandi,

While I enlisted of my free will, w/o consideration of where I would end up in the lottery, my number was 30.   Would have been going anyway 😂.

TY. 'Chelle, actually, I did get out of 'Nam in one piece. I did die in VietNam from Agent Orange ... I'm just TOO -rockin-' ORNERY to FALL DOWN!!! hehehe  😉 Got the Diabetes T2 from it, but God Was GOOD to me that's ALL I got! I've heard of many guy Riddled w/ cancers and other -crap- ... and it's also transgenerational, so kids get the -crap- FX as well   😞

Got scrambled egg for brains, but I'm working thru it and I'm now SOLIDly out in Kj and I'm going for my Orchi in this Friday.  "HopeEverythingComesOUTOK!!!!? hehehe  😉 With This cut it means I am TOTALLY committed and ready for a GO! Really looking forward to it. For the longest time my biggest fear was breaking out in Social transition. I Broke that on New Years Day (plus one ... I slept all NYD {First res: "NO Parades and NO Football!}) 2nd. Res: Push up throttles on Social Transition.   WHICH I DID! IN SPADES!)

Once I get that, it's Turn on to the runway, cleared for immediate departure and full throttle for take-off! at THAT point I will have passed the PNR! (Point Of No Return.)

Hey Kjersten, I feel ya. My service was after yours, and I spent most of it in such "garden spots" as Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and so on. reaching back to 1980. (Courtesy of Uncle Sugar, I speak Arabic, Farsi, Dari and Hebrew. Or did--now I barely get by in English._ So, while I didn't get the Agent Orange treatment, but between sand fleas, malaria and the experimental anthrax vaccine, I understand your set of lumps. God Bless you, girl, and thank you for all your sacrifices. What you went through means the world to all of us who followed after.

Also, transitioning can be hard, and being totally committed is an act of courage. Good wishes on your Orchi, And on coming out socially. You've faced harder stuff, so I know you're gonna be fabulous when you complete your journey.

I appreciate the reference to Heinlein, BTW. Back atcha.

Hi everyone! I was enlisted in the Navy from 2005 to 2009. I was stationed on board the USS Underwood out of Jacksonville. I went on three deployments and got to see a heck of a lot of places. It’s awesome to see so many fellow Veterans out there. This seems like an awesome community. I look forward to reading everyone’s posts.

Wow. Small world. For 20 of my 24 years in the Army, I was an interrogator/case officer and married to a counterintelligence agent. There aren't that many of us out there. Welcome, Colleen.

Thanks, Marcie.

I was at Fort Holabird in Baltimore for counterintelligence training followed by several months of immersion in a Berlitz language course. Then I served as liaison with local police counterintelligence in Taegu, ROK. Fun times.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.
