@Susan R I'm on Climara brand patches and the smallest one was tiny.  Once I started with the larger sizes in multiples I use tape to protect them from pealing off by my underwear rubbing.  I use this product that I buy on Amazon.  I just cut to length and round off the edges.   it works really well and a roll lasts a long time.

Thanks, Bri. I hope to get the same experience. Will be going for piercings end of nxt week.

Well Kiara, I think most of us would gladly take a little extra boobage. I read cardio exercise shrinks fat from breasts. Good luck.

Rachael, I'm sorry to hear about your marriage. I can't even imagine how you feel. I shudder to think of it. Hang in there. You ARE worth it.

YAY Kimmie !!! Congrats.

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. While I haven't officially measured it. but it is about 3/4 x 1 1/2.

There is defiantly something my wife has on her mind. Lately she jumps down my throat for no reason. Tonight she just looked POed about something of course asking what is wrong gets me the standard answer, nothing.

OH, Well. Ce le ve .

I got my E finally. Still happy girl. @Mmindygotta be a dress raising spin.

OH, well. I just got an email that the Cat dealer has moved on and I was not selected. I think the evidence specialist is also a no go. I am still on the search.

I appreciate this, Jani, This is the waterproof cover you place over the top of your patches I assume as you’ve obviously had it on during a shower. This would seem to be a much less expensive way to cover my patches if this is the case.

Thanks Kymmie, That seems to be about the smallest size out there in an E patch.

Thanks for sharing this info ladies,

Good Morning! I had enough hours in at work to take today off. Slept in a little later than usual. Coffee is wonderful.

It is so exciting to hear about all of you on HRT. It's a step that I can't take right now. I am happy for everyone!

Have a wonderful day!

This is sleeping in? What is it: 4am in IL? lol

I slept in as well because the wind chill is 10 degrees so the morning dog walk was a no go and my wife knows to let me sleep. She just took her out to pee and back in. Our dog is a chihuahua/pug mix so her cold tolerance is about the same as mine.  She ran back upstairs to snuggle back in bed with me. Of course, cold paws on me don't facilitate a continued deep sleep.  haha

Still, I refused to get out from the warm covers for another 30 minutes.

Then my amazing wife brought me my first cup of coffee to me in bed so.....more warm covers time. I love lazy starts to the day.

I will have to venture forth momentarily though, the rest of the coffee is downstairs. sigh....

On a work day I wake at 3am, so 4am is nice treat for me! All my life, I have been a morning person. Yes, I know that is sounds strange, but I am different in many ways!

No, it's 5 just feels like 4am.

@AudreySorry to hear the outfit didn't fit right. It's usually the shoulders and arm that cause me issues.

I was feeling overly emotional yesterday. My E dosage was changed a couple months ago so I suspect it's finally catching up to me. Makes me wonder if that also means my transition timeline now has a "new" starting point. I would be very happy to have more changes. Despite what people tell me, my mirror says I haven't changed that much. That feels like a double sided statement......

(Sorry I don't have time finish this thought,  need to get ready for work.)

Well I got some good news thought I'd share this AM. Been off from my PT delivery job since last Friday due excessive rain & cold here in Georgia but also discovered, via a missed email dated Jan 11th, that I'm off Dr Powers' wait-list and can make a first appointment as soon as my Humana insure card arrives, having just signed up on Tues.

Not only did I get an Advantage PPO for FREE but am getting a monthly $50 rebate off my $148 SS A/B deduction as well! Go Figure since when are insurance companys ever really helpful, forgiving or nice?

Wee shall see! Dr Powers also requires an annual cash $300 "out-of-state fee" which can pay via paypal and while listed "in-network" he's "specialty" too so will see what THAT means . . lol have found bonus cash to play with?

Daughter and kids moved OUT this week, just around the corner, am upset 'bout that too as her and her mother (my "ex") were butting heads constantly so hopefully just temporary . .

Workin' on the "ex going next"?

Good morning

sipping my coffee and catching up.

we went from our warmest day thus far in 21 to the coldest in January record in two days.  Not nice Mother Nature.  Lots of patch’s and dancing going on.  It’s my injection day today.  I wasn’t as depressed yesterday so things must be leveling out.

 Back later.

Kiera, That's awesome news. I also have Humana choice advantage. Like you, I just found an "in network" LGBTQ qualified specialist. It took a lot of searching. Humana's search engine is worthless for people like us. They changed my primary care physician to Dr. Adam Houghton right on the phone. I've found Humana people to be very nice on the phone. Specialist means higher copay. Hopefully better care also. I can call for my first appointment on Feb. 3rd. They are sending me a new card with his name on it.

Hey did you know your plan comes with "Silver Sneakers" ?  I belong to 2 gyms for free with this. If not sure if you are eligible for this, go to Silver Sneakers website and type in your name and it will tell you. You will have to sign up to get a number that you give to gym.

Best of luck. Jamie

23 this morning, which is a bit chilly for us.    Fortunately I got a load of firewood yesterday, so it’s coffee by the wood stove for me.  I should cut back on the cherry turnovers though.    They’re making me fat.
It is sunny though, which helps fight depression.
I’ll need to go to the laundromat today since I’m about out of clean undies.   It’s a good chance to catch up on some reading.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I wish I had known about this when I was still on the birth control patch! I had so many time where I'd have to worry about it peeling off. This would have been so helpful!

I had a big chest before I gained all the weight and I now I have entirely too much. I really need to get back out there and get rid of the rest of this extra weight already. I really wish it would warm up a bit so I could start walking again at least.

My anxiety has me feeling so scattered right now that it's hard to focus. I've been trying to keep up with all the posts, but it's been very difficult lately. I have my interview later this morning so once that's done it's one thing off my plate, but last night we discovered that we have mice in the kitchen. I ended up spending my night gutting cabinets and scrubbing everything down and just generally being angry about the whole thing. We live on the second floor and we keep everything fairly clean so it's just that much more frustrating that they made it this far. I was so exhausted by the end of the night that I couldn't even work on getting ready for my interview this morning.

It's wonderful to hear so many of you are on HRT. I didn't know the patches came in so many shapes and sizes! I really love hearing all your positive news. It's those little things that give me hope for the future. I'll just be here, lurking in the background, cheering everyone on.

Jandi, I love the smell of a wood fireplace. Sitting with a warm cup of liquid and staring into the fire is like going to heaven. Someday I hope to have one. Right now I have to dream.

Have a great day.

Yes.  it is waterproof.  I use it primarily because it seems as I move my clothing will rub just enough to curl the edges and peeling them off.  This stops this from happening.   They stay attached well.

Jani, That is exactly what I am looking for. The peeled up edges of the exposed part of the patch are where the water gets in when the waterproof bandaid is slightly too small. I’m ordering a roll today.

Thank You,

Susan R?

@Jani I was going to add... This tape you recommended looks very similar to the material used to cover my small scars under my arms where they inserted my breast implants. That stuff was great! It was like a second skin it stuck to well.

@Willow You should know that mother nature is a pure B-tch. '

Jandi, Just the thought of coffee by the wood stove makes me smile. I agree it would be heaven.

With the help of my bipap I was able to sleep in. Not much as the wife wants me to fix her cars door.  Then the youngest wants me to go with him to the body shop to get an estimate.

Take care all. Of course I shall return.

I researched based upon a product I was given years ago and found this was the best value.  It works well and is waterproof.  Its thin and flexible.

@KymmieL sounds like a busy day.  I agree, there is nothing like the aroma of wood smoke wafting in the air.  And making your coffee over a wood fire, ahhhh.  Just the thought is relaxing.

I have an intersex friend.  Her parents raised her male. She got married, they had a baby and now that baby has two moms.  She is working to switch her sex.  Her doctors changed up her meds dramatically a few weeks ago and she is really feeling all the girl pains and emotions.  So Mother Nature doesn’t just mess with the weather, she’s really messing with my friend too.

Good morning, so busy lately I usually only have time to read.  Also, because of my location, my smart phone is the only internet I have.  Every word I've ever typed on this site has been done one letter at a time with my index finger.

@KymmieL congratulations!  If you haven't already, I'd get a cloth tape and measure yourself everywhere.  I've heard it helps when you start wondering if you're imagining changes or they are really happening.

I joined my first transgender support group this week on Zoom and I really liked it.  Looking forward to next week.

Happy Friday!

Love it! This is great news. We need more of this to combat the excessive hate-filled rhetoric and misinformation. 👍

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.   All My Best, Susan R🌷

Colorado isn't exactly a Republican place, and won't become one anytime soon.  I think those folks might be better off not spending their time playing Don Quixote.    We certainly have our share of California "refugees" moving into where I live, so I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Coloradans too.  I suspect the trend over the next few years will see the blue areas getting more blue and the red areas getting more red as anybody who can relocate tries to find a place where they fit better.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, at least it'll be a place some folks could choose.  Options are a good thing.

My family would have gobbled that jar up in a minute or two.  When we do have pickled herring, its usually for Christmas.  I didn't grow up with that particular dish, but I grew up in a Greek family so I like just about any kind of fish if I can get it.  However, ocean fish and freshwater fish taste so different.  We usually have more catfish and tilapia to eat than anything else.    What I can't quite get used to is the tons of cabbage my GF insists on eating.  When you live with a Russian, there is always cabbage soup.  Always.  When I first moved in with her, breakfast was "shchi" for soup and either bread or "kasha" which is a bowl of boiled buckwheat with butter and salt.  Those dishes can be made in any number of ways, some are better than others.  In the winter, it can even be salty and sour like kraut.  Not exactly sauerkraut, but packed in tubs with vinegar and salt so it keeps partially for the winter.  But I drew the line when the cabbage soup included pieces of fried snake one day.  😆

Good evening to you as well @Mmindy   That is awesome that you have support from her side. My dad has communicated with me once and that was because he was forced to. His new wife wanted to spend time with my kids. He hated me so much he was in the process of taking my rights away as a parent to my two boys. He was talking to a lawyer and I called him out on it. I don't love him at all. I'll respect him because I wouldn't be here without him but I wished I had another father. My uncles don't talk to me and unfriended me on Facebook. Almost all cousins except for two are still Facebook friends but they don't give me any support. My mom said she won't support me with that but she has said that she loves me. I have nieces and nephews that are still Facebook friends but they have yet to talk to me. I have one sister that supports me out of three. The other's disrespect me by deadnaming me. They have never called me their sister. I think for them they think it's still a phase. They don't ask questions about me being trans. I have to bring it up and on the look of their faces they don't look comfortable about it.

Good evening @Ashley0616,   I just got offline with HP tech support trying to get my printer tool box icon locked to my tool bar. This is one of the most important features of my printer that I like because it keeps track of ink, paper, and scanned documents. I'm diffidently not a computer geek.   I'll catch up with the other bookmarks next week. We leave to go home for the Easter Holiday with our families. Saturday with her side, and Sunday with my side. What's odd about that is I'm out to more of her side and they're reluctantly supportive. My side on the other hand are less supportive, and my sister just under me in age will not acknowledge my being there. She will be constantly moving to keep from dealing with me. I'm dead to her.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I used to follow baseball and the team I would cheer for is Boston Red Sox. My favorite player was Papi. He was an awesome guy and even held a child during the National Anthem. I haven't watched baseball for a long time. It just died off to me.
    • Ashley0616
That stinks that nothing transferred, and no bookmarks were saved!

I'm doing patches for now but I think soon I'll go to shots because it's hard to alternate when you are doing two xx patches at once. Unless she gives me Estradiol and progesterone

My view is we are "dependent" on government, because as a society, we are too lazy to stay actively involved. So, we let politicians do our bidding for us.  I think we'd be in a better place government wise if we policed the actions of our politicians.  We elected them; they work for us.  Sadly, we are allowing them to run amok.  We are where we are because we have chosen to let politicians make all decisions without us.  Remember "by the people, for the people?" That was the intent of our democracy.  Today, however, it is "by the politicians, for the politicians," the people be damned.

"Play Ball! Batter Up!" is the closing line of the National Anthem as far as I'm concerned. It's the call of the Home Plate Umpire and signals the start of the game. I grew up in the TV and Radio broadcast of the St. Louis Cardinals. Harry Caray, Jack Buck, Tim McCarver, and Mike Shannon, were the voices on my transistor radio. KMOX 1120 AM pushing 50,000 watts of Class A clear-channel non-directional signal. It could be picked up all across MO, IL, IN to the East. KS, OK, CO to the West. IA, MN to the North, and KY, TN, AR to the South. There has always been a rivalry against the Chicago Cubs, in the National League. As for the American League, I have to pull for the Kansas City Royals. I've also been a Little League Umpire, and fan of everything the Little League stands for. Going to Williamsport, PA and seeing the Little League World Series is in my top 10 things to do on my bucket list.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good evening everyone,   I don't think my mother ever cooked a meal that I didn't like. We also had a kitchen where mom fixed the food, dad filled your plate, and you eat it. It wasn't until our baby brother was born that we could have Pop-Tarts for snacks. Before that all snacks had to meet mom's approval, and in her opinion wouldn't prevent you from eating supper.   Well my day started off on a good note, but has become frustrating because my IT person didn't transfer my saved videos I use for teaching. Then I found out that they didn't save any of my book marks for websites I use frequently.   Best wishes, stay motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?
