Good morning, so busy lately I usually only have time to read.  Also, because of my location, my smart phone is the only internet I have.  Every word I've ever typed on this site has been done one letter at a time with my index finger.

Not even autocomplete! You poor dear! That sounds positively dystopian!

Hugs!

Happy Friday everyone!

So I did a silly thing this morning. I did my usual exercise routine in the park with the near-zero wind chill. Felt like a popsicle when I returned home, through I did move enough to generate body heat. Have been drinking coffee like it's going out of style. Just wrapping up the loose ends from the work week and looking forward to the weekend. My partner and I were talking about trying more recipes from the America's Test Kitchen plant-based cookbook. With the freezing weather, warming up the house by cooking sounds like the perfect thing to do. There is a hearty veggie lasagna recipe that's calling out to us.

@ElizabethStar I was disappointed too. The issue with the jacket was the overall length. It was tailored for a much shorter person than me (I'm 5'11"). The hem hit at the worst possible place, drawing all attention to the part of my waist where I still need to lose weight and made it clear that I don't have the hips for a pencil skirt. The sleeves where also a little shorter than I would have wanted but not a disaster (such a common issue). At least the skirt's length was ideal, the navy blue color was what I expected, and I ordered the right size otherwise. Maybe I'll look for a suit ideal for tall women to help with the jacket length.

@Ann W Now that's determination! It's always lovely to read your posts. Hope things open up more in California so you can move forward, and glad to hear the Zoom support group was such a positive experience!

Love,

~Audrey.

All I had was a flip-phone for a looooong time.  It was maddening.  As a confirmed Luddite, I resisted a smart-phone for a long time.

@Jamie68 The recipe calls for eggplant, zucchini, and mushrooms, and the sauce is tomato based and filled with garlicky and basil-y goodness. We were especially intrigued because the "filling" is not cheese at all but actually cooked cauliflower and cashews - so it's vegan-friendly! It will be very interesting how it turns out. The weekend can officially begin!

Well I'm still using an iPhone 5. I believe they had these on the Flintstones.

Good afternoon

I do most of my posting with an iPad.  I could use a computer but I choose to use the iPad.  Personally I will pick suggested words if it guesses right but I have the problem quite often that I type the word i want and it gets changed after I move on.

I guess everyone is dealing with a cold day today. I tend to nap when it’s like this.  I haven’t been outside since Tuesday and I’m not likely to go outside anytime soon. I don’t have any appointments so no reason to go out except boredom.

take care, our weekend is here.  Kymmie I guess yours is about over.

Hugs

If you haven't already, I'd get a cloth tape and measure yourself everywhere.  I've heard it helps when you start wondering if you're imagining changes or they are really happening.

I joined my first transgender support group this week on Zoom and I really liked it.  Looking forward to next week.

Ann that's a a good idea.  I will have to dig out a tape measure.  I think my wife is wanting growth faster than me.  She said it looks like my chest has already started showing..  I laughed and said I wish.  Just bra padding.

I joined a zoom group this week also.  2 of the 5 girls on were new to the group.  Great group though.  They do a hike in the area everywhere weekend that is said to get a bigger group. I plan on going to that tomorrow.

Right now I think my body is just thankful just to get hormones back in it. Being on Major blockers for about a year. My own hormone producers may have shut down. As the Dr said. I need some type of sex hormone.

So far nothing on the job front. But I ain't really pushing it. Moving in the winter isn't my idea of fun. But if it happens it happens.

Hugs,

Kymmie

Good morning Gals.  Having coffee, toast, and granola with yogurt this morning. No news. Same old thing, seems Corona has shut down all the electrolysis joints. Gonna keep looking though.

Supposed to get maybe 10 inches of snow here. looking forward to some real snow.

Good Morning! On my second cup of coffee. Slept later today. @Jamie68 Yes, the snow is coming. I am going to make sure I have enough gas for the snowblower and run to the grocery store for a few items. My cart seems to always want to go down the cosmetics aisle.

Stay safe and healthy!

Hugs,

Chloe

Why am I up so early?...again. Oh, that's right, the kids need to be let out. 4am. It's not fair. They come back in and just fall back to sleep.

If I ever run out of eyeliner or eyebrow gel the world will end. But for me not wearing makeup really means not wearing full makeup.

Starting second cup-o-coffee.

Yeah, that's why I'm up too. Someone was singing the song of his people in the bathtub between bouts of batting at my head for attention.

I haven't started using makeup yet, only eyelash growing serum.

@ElizabethStar @Jackie C. My little chihuahua who sleeps with us likes to wake 3 - 4 am. He starts liking our faces because he wants to eat and be let out. Then he goes back to bed.

That's why I like dogs. They give you kisses in the morning.

Same here. Our little one jumps one the bed and presses his nose to mine until I wake up. It's cute and would be a lot cuter if he could wait an hour or two longer.

On another subject, I'm sure you've noticed our boobs get larger on one day and smaller on the next. It would be nice if they would just have the larger days. They don't even grow at the same rate. Try to disappear when laying down. Oh, the things us girls have to put up with. LOL

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my last post. It seems to have gotten awful quiet around here. If I have, I'm sorry.

Not me. about the only thing that offends me is being misgendered or dead-named.

I haven't noticed then being larger one day and smaller the next or anything like that. Although lefty is bigger. I really hope I'm the only one who sees it. I can't and never have been able to sleep on my back. I sleep on my side/stomach clutching a pillow. My girls have been getting in the way a lot sleeping like I do.. I am not complaining!

I'm new at this chit chat stuff. I've been a quiet person all my life. I put my foot in my mouth quite frequently.

You're good. We can be quit chatty at times but there are also quiet times around here. I couldn't tell you how many times I though I said something wrong and killed a thread.

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."

The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?
