I hope I haven't offended anyone with my last post. It seems to have gotten awful quiet around here. If I have, I'm sorry.

Jamie

I wasn't offended. I laid down in bed and listened to a meditation recording. Now off to the shower and the grocery store. I'll try not to spend the entire time looking at the nail polish and actually get a few groceries.

I can't speak for everyone, but I was dilatating and chatting with my spouse. So, couples activities I hadn't considered.

As for my breasts... eh, they're fine so long as they're there when I need them. We're a team and I'm a long way from perfect, I can't expect them to be perfect either.

Hugs!

Well said.

If I ever do offend anyone, please tell me so I won't do it again.

?I'm in the middle of doing my nails. This no UV light needed gel stuff sucks. It takes all day to dry, don't know why I use it.

Lots of activity here since last night! Many of us are early risers or morning people it seems. Myself included. Though 8am feels like sleeping in. First cup of coffee is in hand, and I'm having a debate with myself whether I should layer up and exercise in the freezing cold, or just be lazy this morning. Laziness appears to be winning. ☕

My partner and I made the veggie lasagna last night. We overcooked it a bit because the edges got burned, but the flavor was right. I must say that the cauliflower and cashew mixture really did resemble the texture of ricotta cheese though not the taste. Lots of leftovers to enjoy all weekend long now. Probably going to spend the day inside, a Hulu binge feels like it's in order today.

Painting my nails. Now that's a good idea. I can usually get about three or four days of nice-looking nails after I do them. I have my eye on a bright red one called "Bordeaux" (by Karma Hues) in my partner's stash. @ElizabethStar All day to dry? What brand are you using? Mine is dry in an hour, base coat and top coat.

Love,

~Audrey.

I really ought to paint my nails. It would cover up the damage my diet and gym routine do to them. The poor things are a mess. Maybe a nice, cool peach...

I'm glad it turned out good. I like the edges a little dark. I usually sprinkle some sharp cheddar or other sharp cheese on top, then brown.

It's Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. I'm sure it's me but I've never had good luck with. Should just stick with UV gel polish, I've got a light.

The one and only one I have is a kind of candy apple burgundy/blood red. I love it. Peach sounds nice.

OK, that didn't work. What was I thinking, gold & black glitter on fuchsia? At least it's not dry and scrapes off easy. Lets' try that again.

Hi, I'm  Liz. I'm drinking coffee and painting nails.

I use Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polish. No UV light and dries fast. Fav color is 120 Diamonds. A pearly color with sparkle glitter in it. I also like colors Wedding Crasher (purple), Something Blue (baby blue), and Champagne Toast (Pink).

I was thinking of a veggie lasagna for dinner tonight!

Good morning everyone, Y'all wake up way to early on the weekends. The birds don't get to the feeders until it's light outside. I'm on my second cup of coffee. The cats are fed, the litter boxes have been tended to, and we're watching the bird activity pick up. They're indicating snow is on the was. The snow blower is at the ready, and my waterproof winter gear is out of storage. This will be the last year I wear it because it's gotten to big for the new me.

@Jamie68 your post wasn't anything to worry about, and those that seemed to fade away are probably napping.

Hugs,

Good morning

I've been drinking my coffee and reading the posts.  I will say I often write something, read it, then erase it because it doesn’t say what I was trying to say.  But I would say periods of silence don’t have anything to do with what anyone said.

wearing certain things is off limits with my wife.  For example I received several suggestions for a flannel night gown because of my surgery, well an agreement we have is the the bedroom is a Willow free zone.  I’m ok because I’d rather sleep nude anyway.  Nail polish is another one although that on I’m not understanding.  I can wear full makeup, dresses, skirts, she even made me a jumper so what the deal s with nail polish I don’t know.

well I guess I’ll get going for my day.  Back later.

Oh no, Elizabeth... at least nail polish is one of the most forgiving cosmetics. My polish remover smells like lavender so I get a little aromatherapy whenever I use it. Eyeshadow, on the other hand, yeah that's not so forgiving. Ask me how I know.  ?@Willow That's interesting about your wife's feelings around nail polish especially since she's accepting of the clothes and other makeup. Even clear polish?

I found some surprise motivation to go out and exercise anyway, but half as much as I would normally do. There were a few other brave souls out there but way less than usual for a Saturday morning. I don't think I ever made hot tea so fast when I came back home.

@Chloe Cozee I hope yours turns out as well as ours did!

Everyone enjoy your day!

Love,

~Audrey.

Don’t forget the stabilizer.

Good morning @Willow,

I Seafoam every gallon of fuel I purchase for my small gas engines. Clean Air, fresh fuel, and a hot spark lets the engine pur like a cat, even at the lowest idle. Sharp blades and fresh belts also improve reliably.

Hugs (still masked)

Good Morning, guys and gals.

Actually slept in this morning. Cuddled with momma. Don't know why I can only sleep in when she is with me. Go figure.

Unusual I have to close today. We lost 2 people. but the company wouldn't let us even advertise for someone until after they left. Totally stupid. SO there is 4 of us to run the store.

Hugs,

From all my experiences with larger businesses, I'm absolutely certain that you cannot reach a decision-making level within the corporation without receiving some sort of ceremonial head-injury. Seriously, it's like when they become "in charge" they also flip a switch that says "hamstring the people on the front lines." Madness.

Then they complain about how morale is so low.

Technically, economics theory says you can’t increase any factor in your process formula without increasing efficiency or cutting profit.  If you reduce profit too much you will no longer exist.  Similarly, messing with any part of your process without making an offset change elsewhere will affect your productivity.

Our elected officials don’t understand basic economics either.  Everyone says we need to raise minimum wage to double.  But what happens when you do that?  The cost of everything goes up.  Is the person making minimum wage any better off?  No! They don’t have anymore buying power.  Now, the other side of the argument is that their wages should have been increased annually based on the rate of inflation.  Because it wasn’t, they lost buying power.  It is a two edged sword.

@Mmindy I mentioned fresh ... because there was a conversation last week where someone else was trying to operate a snow thrower on two year old gas that sat in the tank.  It was a refresher from that for those who aren’t used to needing their power equipment on a regular basis.  Clearly in Indiana you use your snow thrower.

@KymmieL it’s nice to be able to cuddle on a cold night.

I'd had a heck of a day yesterday.  There were some down points but I want to celebrate the positives.  I got home to a mess of mail. 2 credit cards, a debit card and various scuba certification cards arrived with my new name!!!  My wallet is in congruence finally!  I didn't realize how much that was keeping me down until I opened my wallet and tossed all my dead name IDs and cards.  It felt amazing.

I also got an email from my case manager detailing some of the next steps toward transitioning.  She gave me the names of all the surgeons for the various surgeries so I could start researching and the current timelines.  I could conceivably get facial feminization scheduled for about 8 months from now. BA/trach shave by October. GRS it depends on the surgeon.  I've gotten a referral for a 2nd psychologist to meet the requirements for GRS.

I have a lot to think about.  Kaiser will let me use a GRS surgeon at either Georgetown or Johns Hopkins or they will fly me out to Oregon to their Transcare center. The docs in Oregon have done more but that is a long way from DC and would involve a trip out for consult and then a week or so trip for the surgery. The FFS would be at Hopkins and the BA/Trach would be local KP surgeons.

A first for me this morning.    My ex was always the baker, and I've always been intimidated by it.  I've done biscuits and cornbread, but yeast scared me.

But at my daughter's last weekend she showed me an easy in the dutch oven recipe.  And I actually succeeded.

Warm fresh bread with butter for breakfast!

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?

Both of my parents were from the “North Shore” of Boston.  My mother Lynn and my father Swampscot.  They had an early 1900s Scots-Irish New England diet.  My sister and I were born in the 40s in Ohio well away from New England seafood and in an area where food was more German and Polish.  My first experience with liver and onions was during basic training.  They ate salt cod but never forced us to eat it same with oysters.  My dad ate oysters but my mother wouldn’t.  Anyone who ever ate an oyster can figure that one out.  I grew up eating lamb.  My wife won’t touch it. I love brazed ox tail, again no way. And the list goes on.
    • KathyLauren
My mother was German, so yes, I think it was a cultural thing.  If I'd known you when we were cleaning out my mother's place, I could have sent you her "threat jar".

Been taking it real easy.Another good neighbor of mine and his 15 year old son came over and cut down a couple dead trees on my property.Knew not to do it taking it easy.I had them put the wood near my fire pit in the back yard.Did it and happy where they put it.They knew I had stents put in and needed to take it easy

Wow that is a high number for Estradiol good grief! Testosterone levels are better than mine. I don't remember my Estradiol level but testosterone was 80. To me that is really high but it was in the two hundreds the check in before last one.

I don't understand why this would make a difference being a "dad" I mean, as far as how they would grow.
    • Ashley0616
I don't see why not. I have worn forms since I came out.
    • MaeBe
I have never worn breastforms, but I assume as long as they don't aggravate your nipples you could.

Every week I've been excited to take my shot, so it's never been an issue. Yesterday, however, I woke up and started my usual "slow roll" and then suddenly realized I had breakfast plans that I had to rush out the door for. After, it was straight into work calls, and then I got the notification from the doctor about things being too high and all the while my mind had completely slipped that I needed take my shot.   Given that I am not asking for medical advice, but sharing my journey, I will note my results: Estradiol at 447 pg/mL and Testosterone was 23 ng/dL, up and down from 26 pg/mL and 526 ng/dL respectively before treatment. Almost flipped the bit! The doc would like my Estradiol closer to 300 pg/mL, so we'll see what Monday's tests state.   Oh, and I teased the dinner with old soccer teammates and never updated the thread! It went well. There were a couple funny moments. One guy, who I was worried about their response, greeted me with "Hey, you've lost some weight!" 😎 And a friend who lives near me picked me up on the way to dinner exclaimed, after we learned one of the invitees might show up with a date, "Wait! We could have brought women?!" To which I instantly responded, "You kind of did, bringing me!" Everyone got a good laugh out of that. 😁

To me there isn't that much difference other the measurement, which side the zipper is on and men's pants have bigger pockets.

I hope this is not stupid question..I have yet to start n not sure if doc will approve..but once you start growing buds n such, can you still wear forms to get to the size you were?   I'm a dad, so when I start blossoms they will be smaller for a long time n probably need surgical augmented..that's fine. I don't want to go ddd to aa to ddd..   any ideas?   thank you

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆
    • awkward-yet-sweet
I think the key to that is just not minding eating the same thing repeatedly. Since we produce a lot of our own food here, we end up eating what is in season at the moment. So, when the yellow squash is ripening, we end up fixing squash 20 different ways. When the strawberries are ready, we eat lots of strawberries. It's kind of a different mindset to eat in season when it has become such a part of American culture but the grocery store has everything we want all the time. Like grapes in December.  My family does even things out a little bit by having a greenhouse so we have some fresh things in the winter, but it's not a 100% fix.
