First off, we do not snoop on our loved ones. That was a private conversation. Shame on you.

I'm sorry, (hand head in shame)

I just wanted to see what my wife told him after I asked him if my wife had told him I stopped. only thing I got back was "yeah, she told me."

It concerns my family, my life, and my happiness.

After almost two months of silliness I finally got my new social security card. I just to ooo and ahhh at it all day. It also meant a trip to our main office so hr could see the physical card and get a copy for file. Just so happened I am also wearing my green, skull covered dress. I think I like that office a little better sometimes, I got 5 compliments on my dress.

@Elizabeth Star congrats. I'm still waiting for my new birth certificate to come so I can get my SS and Driver's licenses changed then tackle insurance, estate planning and credit cards.....

Sadly no dress makes me look good yet - I'm still in the gas to the floor and clutch in - with family and wanting surgery.

You have to change your birth certificate first?  That’s currently last on my list.

Good morning all.

I got to bind at school yesterday which was really good for me. I also got to hang out with some friends at a thing after school which was a bit outside of my comfort zone, but ended up being really fun anyways.

I have woken up anxious the past two days which I'm not a fan of. I'm thinking it might be dysphoria because yesterday when I was binding it eased quite a bit, but today it's been incredibly persistent.

In really good news my mother might let me get a bowl cut after senior pictures. I'm not out to my parents so I wasn't sure how asking for one would go. So hopefully that'll be in October that I get to do that. :3

Anywho, hope you're having a wonderful day!

-Jasper

It’s always good whenever you can be yourself. A good haircut can doing amazing things for self affirmation and easing dysphoria. At least it did for me. I agree with what Jackie said about the comfort zone. You may learn something new about yourself.

It was last on my list also, at least the gender change on SS card. I just got my name changed on SS card since it's a long process to get a birth cert. from Puerto Rico. It takes over a month. They sent back my application once already saying my money order was wrong amount, and also said I needed a lawyer to submit it, which is incorrect. I resubmitted about 3 weeks ago. Still waiting for response.

It’s another slow day at work and I’m having trouble staying awake. I pray to the Goddess that this mug of unicorn blood will restore some vitality.

On another note, I found out today that I don't get put on the GCS list with my surgeon until my insurance approves the surgery. I really hope that it happens soon. Please wish me well ?

@Bri2020 and @Jamie68? Good fortune to both of you! May you be swiftly approved and guided to the surgeons with the surest hands and the most artistic talent!

Best of luck to you as well @Lexa83. You never know what the future might bring. My spouse finds herself comfortable with and attracted to me after threeish years on HRT. While she still considers herself straight, she's willing to concede "Straight plus me." Unless your wife is a raging heterosexual, keep calm, keep the lines of communication open and remind each other that you're in love every, single day.

Hugs!

A relaxing domestic day, which for me revolves around the kitchen. Made 6 qts of granola, then 2 loaves of honey whole wheat bread, then a French apple gallette. Then got off my feet and finished a sewing project.

So, a day to just be me.

It will be nice to drift off to sleep with a relaxed smile ? ? ?

We have our first couples therapy session coming up, another thing I didn't think we would ever get to.

That's good news. Couples therapy was one of the key milestones for us, and gave us both a much better understanding of how each other felt. Communication definitely improved.

May it be a positive step forward for you two as well!

Hugs,

Times have been trying.... After 3 years since coming out to my spouse, we were on an almost certain path to being done. After I admitted defeat in that if she couldn't stand me or my changes, whatever they may be, that I need for my future, she realized I couldn't fight it anymore and it hit her in a way that it hasn't before. We made up, she committed to being more calm when we talk so that I don't get anxietied out of opening up. I then read her a letter that I'd been writing and rewriting for the last year plus that detailed needing to at least try HRT and needing to change my name. She doesn't like or agree with it, but stayed calm. She's afraid of becoming unattracted to me. She asked when I want to start "this" I said let's work on us to begin with. We have our first couples therapy session coming up, another thing I didn't think we would ever get to..... I hate being always hopeful as it almost never pans out, but I dare say there could be a chance for us and that regardless of the outcome... I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel which I'm excited for because I know the road to happiness is what's on the other side.

? HUGS

I hope it gets better for you. Seems it's always a rough go at the beginning. It does get better though if there's love there.

Oh great Goddess I am so freaking nervous.  Tomorrow I won’t only be presenting as Justine, I will be doing it in front of 120+ people to perform the wedding of my two best friends.

Ack what the heck did I get myself into?!

You got yourself into living life as you really are!  Embrace it - it won't be anxiety-free, but being yoursef in this world rarely is.  You got this.  Just. Do. It.

@Lexa83 congrats.  I wish you both luck.

I myself have stopped. There is to much stress coming from my wife and oldest. Plus I want to see all my grandkids. Not just my middle son's two (soon to be three :) ) I guess we will see at Thanksgiving. My middle son and wife are wanting the whole family over. Me, My wife and Youngest and our oldest and his family.  If our oldest declines there will be hell to pay, from his brother and sister in law.

My Monday today. Up early to get some things done at work.

Woke up feeling anxious again. That's three days in a row. Not a huge fan of this trend.

Excited for today though. A lot of fun stuff to do :3)

I'm going to get to see and old psychiatric center tour and I'm really excited about.

It sounds wonderful and maybe a little intimidating only because there may be a few that won’t know about you. You’ll be fine though. This is actually one of the things on my bucket list….Attend a wedding as true self. I have been to so many weddings over the years and it’s seems odd that I have never attended one without wearing a monkey suit. So sad?

Have fun @JustineM

Good Friday Morning    I will be spending a good portion of my day at church today.  I don’t know how any of my family would have been with me.  They all passed before I figured myself out.  I often think my mother and sister may have figured it out before I did but maybe it was just my depression that they saw.  I don’t know and never will.  My grandfather Young unconditionally loved me but he passed when I was 9.   Same with my wife’s parents, both gone before.  We’ve never had the greatest relationship with my wife’s brother but we do see them occasionally.  They words and actions aren’t always in sink when it comes to me.   Sour kraut or boil cabbage were never big even with my parents so that was something we were never expected to eat.  Nor was anything with mustard.  My mother hated mustard and it turns my stomach. My wife tried to sneak it into things early in our marriage but I could always tell.  She stopped after a while.   well I wave to go get ready to go to church.  I have a committee meeting at 10 and then we have a Good Friday Service at noon.   Willow

Good morning everyone,   @KymmieLI hope you're misreading your bosses communications. As you say keep plugging a long. Don't give them signs that you're slow quitting, just to collect unemployment.   I have a few things to do business wise, and will be driving to the St. Louis, MO area for two family gatherings.   Have a great day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning everyone, TGIFF   It seems like I am the one keeping or shop from being the best. According to the boss. I don't know if my days are numbered or not. But anymore I am waiting for the axe to fall. Time will tell.   I keep plugging a long.   Kymmie

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.
