In keeping with the accent, Scotch eggs be a rare treat here in Ameri-kay, but. Aye, an' the wee divils be made sich:

The first, ye take oop hen's aiggs an' bile until richt haaard they be. Shell 'em then ye must.

For the next, wrap yon aiggs in a bit o' sausages, then coat  the lot wi bread crumbs, d'ye ken?

The next, weel, aye, fry them or bake them until crisp, belike and whan a' 'tis done, serve 'em oop an' eat 'em.

Hi, it’s Tuesday night, 7th day since surgery.  I still hurt, especially if I stretch the skin. Try moving around without stretching that area.

Petra Jane, I can’t tell you how many times I checked in over the weekend.  I guess we are all looking to hear from our friends.  Thanks for getting It fixed.

ye wee eggs are not very desirable to me.  Nothing to do with your pictures I just don’t eat eggs or haggis.

Are you watching Jeopardy? Amy the champ is one of us.

I have a sore throat tonight after LaryngoChondroPlasty. There's a mouthful! I also now have a "smile in my throat", literally.

I'm the master of ceremonies for a conference I'm putting on Friday Night and Saturday morning, with 32 speakers. This should be interesting. I think I may wear a polo neck.

There was a cancellation today, and they offered to move my scheduled appointment from the middle of December to 6am this morning. Needless to say, it's been a long day! Maybe the muscles won't have to work as hard moving the larynx up now that it's not quite as big?!

I've found that covering the patches with a thin clear bandage material such as Tagamet or Opsite Flexifix (which I get on Amazon in 4" wide rolls) works well to keep patches from being chafed off by clothing.  I do round the corners so it doesn't have a place to roll over on itself.

I'm using a 1 inch circular Dotti brand patch. I've never had a problem. Almost everyone I've talked to has complained about patches falling off. I do have to be careful not to put them on a wrinkly patch of skin though. Otherwise I have to peel them off, although the adhesive cleans right off. Anyone else using Dotti with adverse issues?

Good to hear you made it through successfully! Yes, Amy is amazing! I've watched a couple of episodes. As of tonight, she's a 10-time winner.

Woo-hoo, the Christmas lights are back!  My inner vandal enjoys breaking them.

Ah, don’t break the lights.  Enjoy them.

Today is laundry day.  Tomorrow Covid tests.  Friday we take the dog to the kennel.  She’s going to cry about being left.  Saturday it’s off to Florida and Sunday we cruise.  Looking forward to that.

we haven’t been on a cruise since we took Daphne on her last cruise in 2015. She got the Royal treatment but each day she got weaker.

guess we will see how this goes.

I've never had an issue with them staying on, just that they sometimes peel and roll upon themselves as I do enjoy wearing snug clothes.  I suppose if I was in to looser fitting slacks or skirts it wouldn't be an issue.

I also like the therapeutic relief my inner vandal gets from breaking every one of them.

Go Christmas Lights!

Went to a doctor's exam today. Went fine except for this misunderstanding I had to comment on:

"I really appreciate your sensitivity to my new name, but it does NOT mean a Mammography is overdue for me."

Really? Because I'm overdue (and not looking forward to) mine.

Hugs!

Omg. A reality I totally forgot about. Now I’m scared.

I never heard of a male getting tested for that, but maybe we do too. If I was taking HRT hormones, I would think it would make sense. I'll take it seriously now and ask my doctor about it. Can't hurt to learn about it. (I did enjoy the laugh, however.)

My GYN had me get one. No big deal. And I  might be an A cup if I am lucky. Hey, girls get them and I am a girl. Remember that men can get breast cancer too. A friend of mine hates it when  people call it a female only disease.

I will have been on HRT for five years in January.  Time for me to meet the boob-squishing machine.

Scotch eggs be the bomb. I roll them in oats and bake. If you are being traditional you would fry them.

Well, I am all moved into my apartment. I had a girl friend come over the first night and made her dinner. She kept me distracted and did a little unpacking with me. It was rather nice to have someone here my first night by myself.  It is really an adjustment. 55 years on this earth and while I've spent nights on my own, I've never lived on my own.  I always knew I was an extravert but this really hammers it home. I am just so used to having some human around pretty much all the time. The quiet is deafening.

Made a call to scheduled a consult for top surgery on Tuesday. I know it's only Thursday morning but the wait for a call back is driving me crazy. Also still waiting for the letter from my therapist. She said she would get it to me by next Friday.  Part of me wants to say I'm being impatient and I probably am. I can't help the feeling of urgency to start moving forward again.

In those dimensions, not even Sophia Loren could hold a candle to me. A Goddess....in my own mind. lol

So, just imagine how spectacularly beautiful you'd be in four-dimensions April.
    • Ivy
That does sound hard to keep up with.  I use patches, changed twice a week.  But I have to have my phone set to remind me.  I just don't think about it.
    • April Marie
Oh, I am drop-dead gorgeous in a totally different dimension @Sally Stone! :-)

Ladies, each of your comments makes me realize my decision to share my journey was a good one.  Before committing, I worried that my storyline wouldn't be of interest to anyone. I'm so glad I'm striking a chord with many of you.

How we look in photographs isn't really anything we can control.  I've actually searched for answers and there are lots of good explanations out there like this one:   https://www.foxbackdrop.com/blogs/news/beautiful-photogenic-reasons-tricks-foxbackdrop#:~:text=Based on the light-creation,angular faces are usually photogenic.   The simplest explanation is a picture captures our image two-dimensionally when in real-life, we are seen three-dimensionally.  A person can be beautiful or handsome in real life but the two-dimensional image can be way different.  So, for those of us that don't think we look good in a picture, fear not.  We are much better looking in three-dimensions.

This is your journey and no one here will judge you or bully you. This is a very accepting, non-judgemental place and you can process at your own speed. Having said all welcome Violet, we are glad you found us. I know we all look forward to hearing from you.

Good morning    I should not have said about sleeping in, now I have to go in 2 ½ hours earlier.  Oh well at least I. Off tomorrow and Monday, I think.as of now, hope I didn’t just jinx that too.     Hot today high 80s dropping quickly and rain to the 60s for a couple of days then more normal 70s.  It just depends on which way the wind blows. Off the gulf, hotter, off the ocean, cooler, out of the north rain and when they all converge, look out.  That’s today.   i made a pot of coffee but I think most of it is going to waste.  My wife went back to bed and I’m not good with coffee when I’m hot, and I am. That’s my fault, I was 4 days.late with my E again.  I just st have a really hard time keeping on a 10 day schedule.  And my reminders aren’t helping..   now I’m going to peak by tomorrow since it isn’t all absorbed in one day, I’ll hold fairly steady but if I’m late again I’ll drop well below my target yet again.     Im down in the valley, the valley so low But I see my true love, at the top of the hill i climb the mountain, but she is not there for she has gone back down, to the valley below   I didn’t come up with a refrain and with that I’m calling the guys with the padded cells. lol   Willow

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!!! A beautiful milestone.    I hope to see you tonight...I just have to stay awake long enough!!

It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.
    • Mirrabooka
This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️
