Still don't drink coffee, and it's evening here, but here I am anyway. Had a 10+ hour day 1 of training and paperwork, etc, for my new job. I was originally told it would be today and tomorrow, but it turns out that, since I already have the appropriate security officer credentials, I don't need to go back tomorrow for that part. I had emailed my therapist on Sunday that I would have to cancel tomorrow's weekly appointment, but she hadn't responded. I got in touch when I was done, and she still had me on the schedule. Yay. I love my therapist. Don't know what I'd do without her.

Anyway, there were 3 other new hires there, two male, one female. When we got our first restroom break, I was out first, because I was in the front and because I'm old and take every advantage of a restroom break. The other woman - I'm guessing 20-something - was close by and already new, and as we approached the restroom, she - very politely - said, "Here they are. The men's is the next door and this is the ladies'." I responded that I would be using the ladies, but if she was uncomfortable, I would wait. She answered that she was perfectly comfortable, and we went in. Business done, we talked a bit as we walked back to the office, and for a couple more minutes after. She was very sweet, treating our interactions through the day as just normal talk between two girls.

The HR manager called me Hannah when addressing me, and Hannah plus she/her when making reference to me. 'Twas a good day.

Good morning

sitting here with my coffee.  @Hannah Renee that’s great about the younger woman and the HR.

@Marcie Jensen thank you.  It’s getting hard to wait.  We are very anxious to get off the boat and to be able to move with out having to step over our dog or do a dosey doe to pass.  We’ve been tryin* to spend as much time off the boat as possible lately.

I’m not too sure what we’ll do today.

I do have to get more documents to our mortgage company.

That's great, @Hannah Renee. Personally, I hate it when I ge4t misgendered, and to have both a co-worker and HR be both accfepting and affirming is really wonderful. Congrats on both the new job and the acceptance.

That is fantastic news, @Willow. I know you have been waiting too long for this time. I don't envy you moving though. As we are looking to do the same. We are house hunting. Barely anything decent in our approved range. We did put in an offer on one over the weekend. Of course, didn't get it the winner put in a cash offer $20K over asking.  I cannot compete with that.

Monday was finally able to get to one of our other stores to do inventory. It was great during lunch break. A group of us were talking. On guy from another store mentioned something about how the oil rack was placed. Our district manager told him that most of the converted Checker stores had that. Mentioning that her store was like that. in turn pointing at me. It felt so great.

I still need to figure out a way to politely advise customers that I am a Ma'am/miss not a sir. The flashing neon lights or lapel pin has potential. But to make it obvious it would have to be an impractical size. Then having to lug around a power supply, would stink. LOL.

Have a great day.

I work at a library, and we've learned from experience that even the most avid readers still won't read a big honking sign! Your flashing neon idea might be worth a try though!

Yeah, we get people all the time pushing on the pull doors.  We had one customer think we were closed. since he could push the door open. Here's your sign.

I get it! Several years ago i was working for Lowe's part time for some extra cash. I had just sold a lady a lockset and she asked if she could install it herself. I told yes, and the only tool she needed was a screwdriver. She act6ually replied "Great! I've got vodka and orange jui8ce at home already." Sadly, she was serious.

I wake up this morning with an email from Precision Hair removal/Cirene saying they are charging me $500 for having to reschedule my appointment because I got covid.  What the actual -expletive-!

The claim it falls under their 14 day notice rule of any changes.  I told them you can't have it both ways, your require a negative covid test to get the appointment so you can't charge me if it comes up positive. That is utter crap.

"Utter crap" is n understatement! The greed of some folks is mind boggling. Frankly, @Bri2020in your shoes I would not only refuse to pay, but would find a new provider. Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, this is outrageous.

That's F___ing brutal. I suppose they can get away with it. They literally have you by the short hairs. I had a hell of a time finding anyone who would do genital clearing electrolysis. I go to the Chicago branch. It's 110 miles from my house. Thank goodness I'm almost done.

Hello everyone, I hope that everything is going well.

So I have been having a difficult time making a decision about going down to New Hope PA for the Pride Fest. Today I booked my room for Friday and Saturday nights. I plan on going to the parade on Saturday morning and then attending the Pride Fair from 1 to 4PM. This will include live music and vendors. I then plan on grabbing some dinner.... not sure where then back to my hotel to shower and head out to a dance party at the New Hope Clarion because THIS girl loves to PARTY!!! I plan on driving down and back as Rachel as well so I am just hyper excited!!!

I was teetering back and forth on going because I really did not want to go alone. But I decided that I can either be alone at home or be alone there in New Hope. The only place that I had a chance of meeting people and maybe making new friends was to go to New Hope. So here is to a new hope of making friends! (See what I did there?)

So have a great weekend everyone and I will check in this weekend from New Hope...

Good Afternoon

@KymmieL Sorry you got beat out for the house.  I know it happens frequently.  Actually I’ve had two homes go to bidding wars.  Thanks For the comment about getting into our condo finally.

Its nice to find people that respect us.  Things are going pretty good for me right now.

@Bri2020 that’s ridiculous.  Do you pay $500 for the session?

@CD Rachel I hope you meet lots of good people in New Hope.  And if not its a very quaint place to visit.  Lots of very old restored homes.  I almost always drive trips fully dressed.  I haven’t had any issues.  It is just right and normal.

I answered a friends post in our secret group and now she wants to talk to me after our next meeting.  Bit of a surprise.

we did laundry today. I wound up having a conversation with another woman that was at the laundry.  nothing but nice conversation.

Well dinner is getting cold.

Until I drink my coffee

Hey everyone. I don't even know how long it's been since I was here last. Might only have been a couple days but feels like weeks.

Today I was able to get my second letter for top surgery so I think that gets me on the surgery list but they may want to wait until after I have a mammogram. I do have one scheduled but it's not until the middle of July so that would potentially put surgery somewhere at the beginning of next year. Whatever, it'll happen when it's supposed to happen. I do find it interesting that neither my GF or the rest of my queer family really care what size I'm going with. None of them have even asked BTW. They love me no matter what and just want me to be happy with myself. GF did however make a statement. She said if go big I will probably have back problems but instead of making it a warning about size and why NOT to do it, she said she'd get me a back brace and if I ever wanted to go bigger she would pay for them.

I've also started to come to terms with some deeply rooted abandonment issues that were apparently pushed over the edge with the passing of my wife. Again my new "family" all said they are here and will fight for me. Part of me wants to be skeptical but overall I don't really have anything to lose by trusting them. I also have my therapist working with me on it.

House cleaning is starting to pick up. I have a lot of stuff I just don't need or want, so much stuff, so many painful memories. My garbage was picked up this morning and I've already filled it again. I'm starting to stage stuff in the garage so I can make some real headway in the house. I'm giving myself until the end of July to at least get everything I don't want in the garage. In the end I'll probably need a dumpster and a crew of people to help unload the house. Thankfully I know a group and they're very accepting and totally non judgemental.

At this point, I've pretty much stopped going to my Pride meetings. I don't get a good vibe from the group. A couple of them..yes but honestly, I don't have a whole lot in common with the guys there not even the transguy. I even had the host of the group get upset with me for not RSVPing. If I can't make it I'm not going to RSVP but he feels I should so other people will think there will be more people going then really are.

Have a great night everyone ❤️

Ugh!  It’s 1am.  I woke up hot at midnight.  Came out to the salon and turned the ac on.  That lasted about 15 minutes then it tripped the circuit breaker.  Very bad time to have AC issues.  It was 94 yesterday and is expected to hit 98 today.  I know exactly what happened, but I n Ed daylight to fix it.  The water intake for the condenser clogs up and the ac over heats.  I also know the breaker is 15 amp but it needs a 20. It’s not like you can run to Home Depot and get a new one.  These are very unique.  I have to shut it down and blow out the waterline.  It’s caused by algae growth on the strainer under the boat. I may try to scrub it off but I really don’t think I can get to it.  If I can’t get it to work, I’ll have to take the dog with us everywhere we go tomorrow including to teen group.

@Elizabeth Star I am so happy for you that you have found a loving, non-judge mental “family”.  As for your pride group leader wanting you to rsvp to inflate the attendance, that’s just wrong.  RSVP simply means “please reply” it doesn’t mean you are going, you could rsvp you aren’t going.  Lots of Americans miss use the French because they don’t really understand French.

good luck with the top surgery appointment.  And really, don’t get carried away.  My wife has complained for years that they strain her back.  She is a natural DD to an E.  Go with what looks good to you.

(Yawn) is it really morning.

I started trying to clear the water inlet.  First attempt failed.  Now I need something stronger. Which also means more hoses to disconnect.

it’s estradiol day and teen group day.  Besides clearing the water inlet.

sorry I’m too tired to think right now.  I figure I got two hours sleep early and two just before sun up but lots of awake time in the middle.

MY wife is large too, at least D. She hasn't complained that I have heard. I do know she has warn the wrong bra for years. She always wears a sports bra. unfortunately she won't listen if I even tell her its wrong.

For me, if and when I ever get top surgery, I am going no bigger that a C cup, probably just a B. will have to see when the time comes.

ON the weather side of things, a balmy 30 degrees on the ol' fencometer. with about 3" of white crap on it. Can't get to my speech therapy, this morning.  Roads are closed between Laramie and Cheyenne. Damn you Elinor Roosevelt. You had to have pretty drive vs a practical one. OH, well. now I don't have to go out until later.

Stay warm/cool everyone. (which ever the case may require.)

Hugs, to all.

Depends on how it looks on you. I mean, I'm a B. I'm fine with it, but it's not majestic and would look better on somebody with a more narrow chest.

It's going to 90 today and it's humid enough that I can wring water out of the air. We're supposed to have severe thunderstorms about the same time I'm supposed to be in Troy for an interview. Should be "fun."

Hugs!

I agree @Jackie C. the bigger you are, the larger the breast implants need to be to look right.  I had breast forms from the breastform store that were a “B” but when my breasts started growing I had to stop wearing them the two together (real and fake) was too much.  On the other hand someone 6 feet tall and over 200# probably needs no less than a C and likely bigger. Our bodies are different and admittedly to get the to look right is more difficult.  Even though I’d like to be naturally bigger at least I am filling the cup of the bra I wear.

Good Friday Morning    I will be spending a good portion of my day at church today.  I don’t know how any of my family would have been with me.  They all passed before I figured myself out.  I often think my mother and sister may have figured it out before I did but maybe it was just my depression that they saw.  I don’t know and never will.  My grandfather Young unconditionally loved me but he passed when I was 9.   Same with my wife’s parents, both gone before.  We’ve never had the greatest relationship with my wife’s brother but we do see them occasionally.  They words and actions aren’t always in sink when it comes to me.   Sour kraut or boil cabbage were never big even with my parents so that was something we were never expected to eat.  Nor was anything with mustard.  My mother hated mustard and it turns my stomach. My wife tried to sneak it into things early in our marriage but I could always tell.  She stopped after a while.   well I wave to go get ready to go to church.  I have a committee meeting at 10 and then we have a Good Friday Service at noon.   Willow

Good morning everyone,   @KymmieLI hope you're misreading your bosses communications. As you say keep plugging a long. Don't give them signs that you're slow quitting, just to collect unemployment.   I have a few things to do business wise, and will be driving to the St. Louis, MO area for two family gatherings.   Have a great day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.
