Good morning!

I'm currently at work and freezing my tail off LOL. AC is maxed out in the office building. Thankfully I have a blanket with me. :)

At any rate, to anyone who needs to hear it, I LOVE YOU. I may not know you irl, but I know that you feel the same things I do, and that is enough common ground for me to feel that for you.

Vidanjali,

It is real love of like people, that is so important. I have an empathetic heart/soul that allows me to love people of all walks of life. I do have a close feeling with people who I've only known through correspondence, such as this wonderful place we know as TransgenderPulse.com

I believe when someone takes the time to write or video respond to your specific situation, there is a connection of compassion. We don't have to meet in real life to develop a bond. The problem with an open empathetic heart is that hateful words and messages hurt deeply too.

Many of us share digital hugs on this forum, and I contend digital HUGS are still from the heart.

You are valued, worthy, and loved,

I have like 2 hours to turn a girls home into something that isn't going to raise 11,000 eyebrows.  I've always lived in what could only be described as spartan decor and furnishings but since my egg cracked I've gone full Martha Stewart.

I wouldn't purge or hide to much, this may be the opening of more than your egg. This could be the beginning of your new sisterhood. Martha Stewart Living was always projected to me as gender neutral.

Since I'm 23 hours late in responding to this, I hope you're doing well.

@Betty_B sorry to hear about your sisters diagnosis. Cancer is a hard thing. My father in law has lung, kidney and spine cancer.  I know that it is weighing on my wife. She hasn't said it but I can tell. With my wife's denial of getting common tests done. She could have it too. I guess I'll never know until it is too late.

About 58 on the fencometer. overcast and gloomy. I hope it clears up. I need to get the driver window fixed on our 2 door crown vic.

I guess it is going to be a coffee and relax day. May even do some work on a model project I haven't touched in a month.

Hugs

Betty B,

I so sorry to here about your sister, and know you will be there for her as she battles cancer.

Having a physical shoulder to hug and cry on, is so important. You will be that shoulder for her. Although we are in the digital world here, you will always have a place to vent, cry, and be loved.

Good morning everyone,

The coffee is Dark Silk, HOT, strong and black.

@KymmieL@Willow @Jandi@SheenaT@Jaycie@NashySlashy

It is a slow morning for me as I'm nursing a bruised leg after on of my props fell on me yesterday morning. I was rolling it up my driveway to prepare it for delivery, when a caster pad broke off causing it to roll over catching my leg underneath it. Fortunately the center of gravity allowed it to settle in the other direction when it came to rest. My wife was outside tending the front yard flowers and heard me swearing like a sailor, which I very rarely do. I save my swear words for the most important times, and this was one of those times. She rushed to me, and asked how she could help. I asked for her to get my roll around shop stool, and my first aid bag from inside. After self examination, I determined that my knee joint was still in tact and functioning without intense pain. She dusted me off, and wrapped an ice pack to the area with the most intense pain. I made it to a chair and foot stool on the front porch, and asked for her to get my bottle of over the counter pain relief. (pill form not liquid) I mass dosed it, along with a bottle of water. After sitting for 40 minutes to give the ice pack and pain relief a chance to kick in, I began to contact my business partner, fabricator, and customer that we had a problem. My business partner, and fabricator both prioritized that I take care of myself. My customer is okay with a delay in delivery, due to unforeseen issues with their prop, and what I said was a quality control issue.

I continued to self medicate with ice and pill form pain relief throughout the day. This morning I have only slight tenderness in my calf, knee, and thigh with a bruise running from just above my ankle all the way up past my knee. The darkest part of the bruising on the side of my knee is still very tender to the touch. I'm able to slip on a compression legging, and alternate warm and cold compresses to the area. I still have full range of motion of my knee without any pain, just don't touch it. I also dropped back the dosage of my over the counter pain relief.

Hugs for all,

@MmindyYou look like you could use a few more hugs. I have plenty for you. ❤️❤️

Thank you, I’m really lucky that the main pinch point of my fall under the prop was behind my knee, and the size of my calf muscle kept me from sustaining a terrible knee injury.

Proud congratulatory hug for you and your name change.

I grew up with it, my mother's side were Germans.  I still like cabbage.  I make a sweet/sour dish with vinegar and brown sugar, add some bacon if you have it.  And in warmer weather, slaw.  I like that better if it's a few days old, and has worked off a little.

Good Friday Morning    I will be spending a good portion of my day at church today.  I don’t know how any of my family would have been with me.  They all passed before I figured myself out.  I often think my mother and sister may have figured it out before I did but maybe it was just my depression that they saw.  I don’t know and never will.  My grandfather Young unconditionally loved me but he passed when I was 9.   Same with my wife’s parents, both gone before.  We’ve never had the greatest relationship with my wife’s brother but we do see them occasionally.  They words and actions aren’t always in sink when it comes to me.   Sour kraut or boil cabbage were never big even with my parents so that was something we were never expected to eat.  Nor was anything with mustard.  My mother hated mustard and it turns my stomach. My wife tried to sneak it into things early in our marriage but I could always tell.  She stopped after a while.   well I wave to go get ready to go to church.  I have a committee meeting at 10 and then we have a Good Friday Service at noon.   Willow

Good morning everyone,   @KymmieLI hope you're misreading your bosses communications. As you say keep plugging a long. Don't give them signs that you're slow quitting, just to collect unemployment.   I have a few things to do business wise, and will be driving to the St. Louis, MO area for two family gatherings.   Have a great day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.
