Glad that justice is being done.  I can feel a bit of your relief... probably more intense than my feelings at the guilty verdict last month.  Hopefully the sentencing hearing will bring you some closure.

Like @awkward-yet-sweet, I'm glad you got justice. I hope you and your brother's speaking out get this jerk put away for life. In solitary confinement.

That's good news Heatherd, I'm so proud of you for standing up and going to and through the Justice System, pressing charges. I hope you are relived by the future sentencing, and can feel safe again when you're out and about.

I have noticed that this once popular thread has gone almost stagnate.  Remember this is a social thread one were you can talk to friends. The same as sitting together having a cup of what ever you want. It is open to anybody who wants to post.

I have seen that some haven't been around lately, @Bri2020 and @Elizabeth Starto name two.  have disappeared I hope that they are doing alright. However I also hope that they didn't just up and leave. Having achieved their goal and don't need our friendship.  Both me and @Willow have seen that  happen before.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone

@heatherd I’m so glad the slow wheels of Justice Turned in the correct direction in your case.  We hear so many times that some one just gets a slap on the wrist and does it again.

Like @KymmieLsaid, she and I have noticed a bit of a slow down in posts.  Some long time posters have moved on and some new ones have taken their place.  And that’s a good thing.  We want this to evolve.  Kymmie created this for everyone to know they have friends and a place for conversation.  We talk about anything and everything as long as it doesn’t break the TransPulse rules.

Yes, it seems to be normal for people to achieve their goals and move away from groups.  I have a good friend that hasn’t been to a group meeting in a year.  I have seen her, because we stopped at their home last fall.  And I hate to admit it but I am not going to be going to the adult group much either.  However, that’s in large part because it costs too much for me to make two 150 mile trips a month and I’d much rather go to work with the teens.  And because of the increasing violence In Wilmington.

I suppose we each have limited time to spend writing about the many things we all have going on, and there are so many good forums here that have more specific topics.  Just remember to come here and say hi to your friends and have a beverage with us.  We are always here to comfort and console you, or share a joke or just sat “Hi old friend!”  @KymmieL created this for that very purpose.  This is your forum.  Use it.

hugs and love

Good morning everyone,

I'm back from my six month dental check up, and everything is good. The Dentist even noticed that I must have given up cigars now for a couple of years. She said she could see the change in my tongue and soft pallet. She also knows that I won't be giving up my coffee,:coffee: so the staining process is still a battle for her. I'm still working in the back yard cleaning up and making ready for Spring.

This coming Saturday morning my wife and I are heading to New Orleans, LA for a week of vacation. We're checking out the historical south, as well as several Civil War Battlefields. On the return trip we'll be stopping in Vickburg, MS for a couple of days. Then it's off to Nashville, TN and a Saturday Night at the Grand Ole Opry. I'll be checking in on my phone, and seeing hope people here are doing.

Hugs,

Hi @Jamey-Heather.  Nice to see you.

@Mmindy  that sounds like an interesting trip.  I’ve never been to either state. Actually I’m down to

about 10 I haven’t been to yet.  And I don’t mean stopped in an airport but spent at least an hour.  I’ve also been to the majority of the US territories.  Just not American Samoa although I spent several hours in Samoa and in Okinawa and I don’t know that I’ve stepped foot in Guam.  I think we will try to close out Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Arkansas, then Minnesota and Wisconsin this summer.  That leaves me with Alaska.  Places in Canada I’d like to go are Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

G'Day @Jamey-Heather I hope all is well with you and yours. I love that this forum has a global reach.

@WillowI've spent time in all of the lower 48 states thanks to Fire Departments, State Police, and Emergency Management. aka Homeland Security. Oh and I can't leave out our Armed Forces, they had us in for Base Management and Hazardous Materials Response to Bulk Deliveries. We always managed to see some local sites while traveling around teaching. Now I'm taking my wife to the most interesting locations. We hope to add Alaska, and Hawaii, completing all 50 states for me. I've also been to several locations in Mexico, and Canada when I was a Safety Manager for a Chemical Tank Truck Company. We're also looking into the British Isles, Dunkirk, and Normandy in France.

Well today's yard 👩‍🌾 work was enough exercise for a couple of days. They're calling for rain and high winds tonight. Saturday we return to normal February Winter Weather.

Hugs,

Bri is busy with her new business as a realator on top of her existing business and profoundly busy social life (we're Facebook buds). I don't know about Liz. She's probably busy with her polycule if the other polycules I know are anything to go by, but I very much wish her well.

Just checking in with an update. Surgery went awesome. (Zero depth vaginoplasty). Took 6 hours. They were amazed that I didn't need any pain meds during recovery. Healing quickly. Rush University is a great place. Rented a studio apartment style at Hyatt House. Only one block from hospital. I walked there to doctor visits. Got to stay at hotel for recovery instead of going to skilled nursing facility. The only downside of the whole experience was that I ended up getting c.diff. doing much better now. Thanks for all your kind words. By the way, my surgeons were Dr Loren Schechter and Dr Brielle Weinstein (she/her). Both awesome. 💜

Hi y’all

Long day. Left at 7:30am met with my endocrinologist about 10:30  He was happy with me for all the care I am taking of myself.  Pleased that I started mammograms.  He said he usually waits 5 years on hrt but at my age and with all the testing I’ve been doing he thinks it was a good idea.

we talked about body changes thus far. Body hIR, lol but completely gone not even underarm.  Breast growth, not much but nipple changes. All in all a good visit.

then I picked up some water shoes I’d ordered.  I think even though they Say womens, but I think they are actually men’s sizes.   Way too big.

got home about 3 after a stop at Ulta for some facial treatment and a new lipstick.  We share these things.  Finally, we went out to dinner with friends and neighbors.  And got home again about 7pm.

definitely tired after a long day.

Well TGIF

Today the rain begins. 2 ½ inches over the next three days.  Good news/bad news the coastal land here is pretty flat and sandy.  Good news no mudslides. Bad news flooding can and does happen as the rain water tries to get to the ocean.  At least I have flood insurance.  I figured being on the first floor and close as I am to the swimming pool that might not be a bad idea.

Worst part is taking the dog out.

Yes @KymmieL I do realize it’s not your Friday.  But on the other hand it doesn’t really matter to me what day of the week it is, the only difference it makes is taking my injection and appointments. Boy is auto correct stupid I had appointments written out perfectly and it decided I meant appreciates and changed it.

well we had a nocturnal visitor. Walked by checking cars to break into. My neighbor shared ring video of someone peering in to cars and checking door handles.

That is one thing about being retired.  It kinda takes some getting used to.  "3 Day Weekends" mean nothing to me anymore.

I have my phone set up to remind me when to change my titty tape.  I would forget otherwise.

Oh, I gave up the days of the week long ago. Its just another day. just like any and all Holidays they are just a day. nothing special.  I thank uncle sugar for that.

As for your complexes night time visitor(s) I don't know anyone on goddesses green earth that doesn't know the sound of a 12 gauge be racked. I miss the old days when you could give a trespasser a load of rock salt.

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?

I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.
    • Abigail Genevieve
It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.
    • KatieSC
Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".
