Hi @Bri2020. Glad you're back. Don't worry about the Middle Eastern woman too much. Speaking as someone who lived and worked over ther for a long time, I suspect it was nothing more than her culture. Most women from that area, especially Muslims, are very retiring in public. Of course, they rule the roost inside the home. This is particularly true of the more traditional Muslim states such as Saudi Arabia. It's just the way of thing

And @Willow the pig is in the ground, sorta. I'm doing it Southern Style as opposed to Hawaiian. I once tried to BBQ a whole lamb on a spit when I was going through the military's language school in Monterrey, CA. That didn't' turn out very well; it was a "Hold my beer boys. Watch this!" experience. Since then, I haven't done anything that big on a spit. I think it was when the FT Ord fire department showed up along with a couple of angry MPs that my buddies and I realized something was wrong. 🤣 It was a major "oops" moment.

@Marcie Jensen I discovered small fire crackers set off in the flew pipe of an older barracks made an amplified sound like a small cannon going off at Lowery AFB back in 1969.  But I had to be watchful.  It would bring the Air Police out scouting around for the source.  I would set a few off then go back to my room.  I saw them slowly drive by once so I knew I had to be cautious.  But hey, it was Independence Day week. Some celebration was called for.

Good morning everyone,

Hotel room coffee is brewing, and life is underway.

So I guess it’s a BC morning.

Good morning 🥶

Ok it’s not THAT cold but I’m cold.  Could it be something I injected?  Let’s try this one,, we’ve been watching Outlander on NETFLEX.  I found the last two or three episodes we watched to be very sad. I cried a lot.  Could it be something I injected?  Ok, I’ve always been sensitive about movies.  But this was outright blubbering at one point.  Nipples are tender too.

I had a dream about my son last night.  No big deal, nothing to report.  I wasn’t feeling well so I laid down, and didn’t watch the second half of the Super Bowl.  I’d much rather they’d both lost.

I made bread yesterday.  I followed a recipe I’ve used once before but didn’t like.  But I was out of instant yeast and had to use active yeast.  Today’s recipes don’t call for sifting the flour, but I haven’t been as happy with my bread as I thought I should so I tried using flour I sifted before adding it to the mixer.  Was that why? I don’t know for certain but it is better bread than I had been making.  Perhaps I’m on to something forgotten.

the rain should be over for now. And fence-o-meter should start rising again.

@KymmieL good news, bad news.  I taped the opening around my sun roof, but I still have a water leak.  Drivers side A piller.

the only thing left I suppose is the windshield seal.  I lifted it to run a Sirius XM antenna wire in the void of the windshield glass to the body. I guess that may have disturbed the seal.  I guess I’ll try some O O O. O’Reily’s windshield sealant next.

Headed to Charleston again this morning.  This time for my wife.  I’ve got to get moving.  Coffee was good and so was the pieces of toast I ate with it.

until later, have a good Monday.  No calling out sick with a Super Bowl hangover.

OMG! Willow, that has me in stitches! I know people; okay, maybe I was one, who would do something like that!!!!! Reminds me of the most scary things you can hear in the military,

1. A 2LT saying "Based on my training..."

2. A CPT saying "Based on my experience..."

3. A senior NCO saying "Trust me, sir"

and

4. A Warrant Officer saying "Hold my beer, boys and WATCH THIS!"

Thank you for sharing. It made my monday morning.

@Willow The windshield seal came to mind when you said A pillar.

Over the weekend our Explorer count went up to number 9. let me preface this, we have a 2000 Explorer limited that we sold to our youngest. After we purchased our 2020 Ranger. He thought the transmission was giving him problems, so he attempted to fix. Made it worse, a couple weeks ago we took it to Ft.Collins to a -transgender- shop. It wound up being the torque converter. With a rebuild and new converter it would be over $3800.

At first the wife was we'll get it fixed. But the youngest argued that the motor is making noises and could go. So it was decided to not fix it and drive it till it died.  Youngest has been looking at facebook marketplace (as he always does) seeing what other ones he could find. Long story short, he finds a built up 94 Explorer they go down and pick it up.

By built I mean built for Off roading lift, bigger tires, High$$ shocks, winch, Etc,Etc. I keep finding more done to it. paid 6k for it but worth much more. it is so cool. Went yesterday Morn before work to try and play. The area is closed till Apr. We are going to share it.

Off today, going down to get the other Explorer. Going to work on the wagon and bike after. Close tomorrow then off for 9 days to fly back to Mich and deal with that.

Hugs

Certainly, one of our TP engineers will figure this one out.  Seem pretty easy to me.

1.  Modify water heater so it doesn’t burn your mouth, but can still make a hot coffee - switch or thermostat to control water heater.

2.  Use a pod replacement instead of coffee pod.  There are several available on Amazon, in grocery stores Or Keurig website.

3.  Modify internal of replacement pod to add pulsing.

4.  Attach water pick hose and nozzle to the outlet of the pod when mounted in the Keurig.

Easy peasy you’ve got a tooth-for one coffee maker.

@KymmieL hmm, I was thinking I should get a 4 wheel transfer case that would bolt up to the output shaft of my transmission.  Replace the front 2wd suspension with Fords fwd explorer suspension.  A poor man’s off road explorer.  Guess someone beat me to it.

question, couldn’t you have found a newer Explorer for the same $3800?  I don’t figure my ‘04 Eddie Bauer is worth that much.  If my -transgender- went out, I’d be calling my local auto parts yard.  But I don’t have the absolute need to have it.

I suspect that the older vehicles will be worth more in the future.  It seems like the latest stuff is harder to fix, has more touchy electric components, etc...  Right now the early 2000s vehicle seem to be cheap. My GF is grabbing them up, and seems to have her own parts yard growing out back.

Now if I could just find something to keep her in the house more... She's always working on stuff in her shop.  I go in to keep her company, and she growls and chases me out.  Apparently I'm a "pest" 🙄. Girl's got zero social graces.

Ok ha ha ha. How come transmission became “-transgender-“?  Auto correct might change transmission to transgender but not with the hyphens.  But that’s ok, we all need some fun and a good laugh.

I deserve to be picked on.  I dish it out so I’d better be able to take it.  🥹

Hugs to all, especially my secret changer.

Good morning everyone! The dogs have been walked and fed, and I've had my first cup of coffee so now it's time to catch up with the world. It's 4AM as I write this - can't seem to break this early rising habit of many years. But, I do love the peacefulness of this time of day and get to watch the world around me come to life.

I'm off to help 2 aging/sick relatives today. Be safe and happy!!!

@April Marie I get it about early rising. It's a habit I can't break. I love the early morning, too. Sitting on the patio with that first cup of coffee savoring the peace and stillness of this time of day is very special. I believe it was John Wayne (not someone I usually quote) who said that just after midnight was his favorite time of day, because it was not only a new day, but it was fresh, new and pure; filled with promise and hope.  It's an easy sentiment to appreciate.

I assumed that you used a common automotive abbreviation for "transmission" and the forum auto-censor though you meant something else.

It's technically a slur that people call us sometimes. I haven't run across it in the wild but hey, I've only been out like five years now.

Happy St Valentine’s Day

Commercially it is the favorite day of card printers, choclateers and florists.  Other businesses have tried to climb on the band wagon as well.  But is it the things we buy or the actions we show to our loved ones that really matters?

@Katie23 yes I am absolutely on A trans mission.  Thank you for asking.  I want to bring care and love and understanding to all transgenders, but especially the the teens.  I saw a statistic yesterday that 50% of transgender teens are bullied, have no one to turn to and consider suicide their only alternative.  I am on a trans mission to help them just as others here have made room in their heart and opened their home to help teens and get them into loving and caring situations and out of hatred.

Clearly those that have only hate in their hearts are the ones who need help to understand.  We don’t choose this life we are born into it.  We are not sinning for it is God that created us in his image.   God has many images more than we can understand.

So, I’ll get off the Dias and quit preaching for today.  What is on your agenda today?  Will you be getting your sugar maple collection and still ready for maple season?  Perhaps clearing and preparing a garden bed for early planting?  (If you live in the south). Maybe enjoying a fire in the hearth while drinking your coffee and reading a good book?

I have received quite a few compliments on my latest hair style.  It is so nice to have others notice and comment.  How about the rest of you?  Any good news to share?

Keep a weather eye open, another bad one is crossing the country.  This has been a difficult winter.  I hope it is not a sign of a bad hurricane season.

be safe

hugs

I'm usually up early myself.  However in the winter my bedroom is unheated and I tend to have a reluctance to get out from under the feather comforter.  I'm awake but… nope.

I believe that the forums censorship setting(IDK, maybe) thought that the sometimes shortened version of transmission was being used as a unkind word for being transgender.

@WillowOh, my son looked but nothing was coming up that seemed as nice as our 2000. The biggest reason we got the 1994 is the equipment that I has. I could never build one with as much stuff done for twice the price. 5 x33" tires are close to $1500, lift kit about $1000 then $1000 install. approx $3000 for the regear of the front and rear differentials, not including the swap to a 2nd generation rear axle and the lunch box locker and outer upgrades done on the front.

Then the conversion to manual transmission that looks factory, the shocks on it along are over $3000. Dual Optima batteries at about $700. Now it becomes clear why we got the 94. As the previous owner (the 2nd one)told my son, only thing still stock is the engine and exhaust.

Well my last day before 9 days off. We head to Mich on Thurs. leave around 11am then have a 6 hour layover in Denver. Major running around on Friday even before we get to my brother in laws house. Then the real fun begins. Then the drive back. Hoping the weather is good. That is why I took Wed and Thur next week for my days off in case of weather problems.

Had some acid reflux early this AM. coughing up stomach acid isn't fun at 1am.

Hugs,

Kymmie

Happy Valentine's for those who celebrate the Hallmark holiday.  At least it is a good excuse to eat something sweet.  And there's always lots of candy and chocolate on sale after it's over 😉

My GF came up with a tray of baklava this morning.  I was quite surprised.  Made with honey from our beehives and pecans from our trees.

I could not agree with your morning sentiments- and John Wayne's too. I'm in the northeast so it's still too cold to enjoy morning coffee on the back porch but even here in my den is right where I want to be on early winter mornings.

So…I didn’t know your Facebook avatar was public. So, on my birthday, a couple people used a group avatar message to wish me a happy birthday…and now my Facebook friends can see a short video of my female avatar dancing with an old friend’s and another with my uncle’s avatars. So am I “Facebook out” now? 😬

No, they are not. Truth wins in the end and this report is full of lies that poison the whole thing: see this: "Dr. Cass Backpedals From Review: HRT, Blockers Should Be Made Available it's said. Dr. Cass's latest statements are likely to cast more doubt on the validity of the study, which has come under fire for disregarding substantial evidence on trans care." https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/dr-cass-backpedals-from-review-hrt?publication_id=994764&post_id=143743897&isFreemail=true&r=rebf4&triedRedirect=true I hope Dr. Cass wins The Mengele Award for it.

By which I mean there is a cultural stereotype of what a man is, and one of what a woman is.  Even worse, of what a transgender person is.   You be you.   I read of a boy who thought he was a girl because he did not adhere to some (rather toxic) conceptions of what it means to be a man, so he decided he was a girl.  He was told he didn't have to conform to stereotype and got happy. "You mean I don't have to transition?" He didn't want to, and was relieved.   Once upon a time if you were transgender they told you either you transition or die.   Incorporate the best of what it means to be a man and the best of what it means to be a woman as much as you possibly can, and let the rest go.  Be fully human. Be alive. Don't conform to some cultural crud.

On the way back to her desk she was interrupted by six short, urgent conversations that had to be attended to. Then she slipped into the women's room and locked the stall door.  She took a deep breath, then another, and allowed herself to shake for five minutes,  Then deep breathing, ten in and ten out, stretch up, touch the floor, neck rolls and she was fine. She used the toilet and a woman knocked and said, "Taylor, are you okay?"   "Ready to conquer the world!"  on her way out she found her makeup was fine.  Three stalls, two sinks.  If she ever designed a women's room with three stalls, there would be four sinks, with plenty of space to plunk your stuff down between them.   She met a deferential Karen.  "Here is the branding I came up with," she said.  And she went back to working as hard as Brenda and Mary, who looked up worriedly and then went back to the proposal.   Shortly before 5:00 she received an email with the title Consolidation and Compensation.  In it she learned that the position of office manager was eliminated, and the current office manager was to become the chief executive officer. The former CEO, along with the CFO, the chief legal officer, and sundry staff, had been terminated, per the Board of Directors.  Effective immediately everyone would receive a base salary of $20,000 with a commission to be set by the individual's supervisor.  Each supervisor would be given a certain percentage to distribute.  Most functions they had been handled would be outsourced as needed.   "The question of what profit was made last year is frequent enough to be answered.  The company lost over 500,000 in fiscal 2023.  At this point further cuts are not anticipated.  We will be strategically adding positions that will enhance our profits. Hard work is expected of everyone."   Her two web guys had been complaining because their games had been remotely uninstalled.  After the memo came out they were absolutely silent.  That gave her an idea, and after an exchange of emails they were reassigned to maintenance out at the plant, effective tomorrow morning.  There were lots of weeds that needed pulling, if nothing else. That email went out after they left early, for the day.  The maintenance foreman was a no-nonsense type who did not tolerate slacking, and they would learn a thing or two.  This also freed up two spaces for her to put new people.

Except for this thung thwister: Theophilus Thistle, the successful thistle sifter, in sifting a sieve full of unsifted thistles, thrust three-thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb. Now if, Theophilus Thistle, the successful thistle sifter, in sifting a sieve full of of unsifted thistles, thrust three-thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb, how many thistles can'st thou thrust through the thick of thy thumb . . . in sifting a sieve-full of unsifted thistles? You have given you and us a big clue right there.  I hope you have shared this observation with your Endocrinologist and are willing to take their advice about changing that behavior.    Non prescribed herbal or animal supplements can have a negative effect on your body's use of your available hormones.  Also, your genetics are going to be controlling what your body is going to do with your hormones, and again, that is for you to consult with your Endocrinologists.  On this site none of us are licensed medical personnel and we cannot give you advice on your health more than what your doctor can.  We have rules that we enforce against our members advising about "Folk Remedies" because we have had members who have gone that route and badly damaged their health and quality of life.  Only thing I can go anywhere on, is that maybe if you change your expectations of what should happen, you will at least not be in danger of harming yourself from anxiety.

Hi lovely people,   I'm a 25 yo MtF woman, and I've been suffering from low estrogen issues since October 2023. I completely lost my feminine libido, my breast completely stopped growing, my estrogen levels dropped by a lot (despite NOT decreasing my E dosage) and thus my dysphoria drastically increased. I think it is worth mentioning that, for my health issues, I had been taking ----- Lamotrigine for months & had been on ketogenic diet, and these things seem to be a culprit of my current issue. I weaned off Lamotrigine some time ago and gave up on keto diet, but it still doesn't seem to help. My estrogen is still low (44 ng/ml) and my libido hasn't come back yet. In general, I struggle with my dysphoria so much because of that and, to be honest, I don't know what to do. I've tried so many dietary supplements, yet I didn't get any effects from them. My endocrinologist didn't know how to help me. She only suggested to increase my daily estrogen dose (to 3x per day ------sublingual estrogen tablets and 3x per day ------ estrogen gel applied to armpits or thighs), which I did, without any effect.   Please, help me. Prior to keto diet & Lamotrigine treatment, I'd never had experience like that. I'm basically helpless and have no clue what to do. Having to deal with low estrogen is a horrible experience to me and it affects my life severely.   BTW, my T levels are always within female range.   Do you have any clue what exactly I should do?

One of our cats is polydactyl.  He has 7 toes on each front paw and 5 on each back paw, for 24 toes total.   Another one, an ex-feral who, at the time, was free to roam, climbed 50 feet up a tree without having any thought about how he was going to get down.  His pal climed down backwards, but he couldn't.  He ended up coming down by leaping from branch to branch.  Which nearly gave us heart attacks, because he only has one eye and therefore has no depth perception.   The other ex-feral (both are now indoor cats) obviously does not have those soft pads on his feet.  At night, when we are in bed, we can hear him stomping around the house.

The two o'clock Onshoring meeting was going well.  Taylor was leading, inviting other people up to speak on their specialties. Aerial photogrammetry and surveying, including the exact boundary, were out for contract signature  Gibson had handled that - Manufacturing was supposed to, but somehow hadn't happened.  Legal issues from Legal. Accounting reported on current costs, including all upkeep, guard salaries, etc.  Manufacturing was supposed to give those numbers, but they hadn't.   The downside was the VP of Manufacturing.  He had arrived at the meeting red-faced, his tie askew, clutching a bottle. It smelled strongly of vodka. He had never done anything in his twenty years of being VP of Manufacturing, and he did not like being asked now.   "Mr. ----, do you have the inventory we asked for?" Taylor asked politely.  VP Gibson had asked him to have his people go through the plant and not only inventory but assess the operational status of every piece of equipment.  They needed to know what they had. "I'm not going to take any f---- orders from a g-d- tra---," he snarled. "God knows what kind of perverts it has dragged into our fair city and bangs every night." "That is completely out of line." That was Gibson.  Taylor controlled herself.  That was a shot at Bob, not just at Taylor.  She was glad Bob was not there to do something stupid.  Had Mrs. McCarthy been talking? What had she said?  Was she given to embellishment?  Taylor took a deep breath. "I'm not sorry.  You f--- can take this stupid onshoring --- and shove it up your -" "That is quite enough."  This was the head of HR. "You can take your sissy ways and sashay -" "You are fired." "You can't fire me." "Oh, yes I can," said the office manager.  The VP took another swig from his bottle. "Try it."  He looked uncertain. "I will have you removed.  Are you going to leave on your own?  I am calling the police to help you leave." And he dialed the number. He stomped out cursing. They heard him noisily go down the hall.  This was the front conference room.  He actually went through security and out the door, throwing his badge on the ground on his way.  The guard picked it up. They could see this through the glass wall. "Can you fire a VP?" "The Board told me that if anyone gives me problems they should be shown the door. Even a VP.  I can fire everyone here. I won't, of course. Those were problems." "Are you alright, Taylor?" She nodded.  "I've heard worse.  Shall we continue?" And they did.   The last item was that certain business people in China had been arrested, and the corporation that had been supporting them all these years had been dissolved.  They were on their own, and the Board was dead serious on straightening things out.  After this meeting, Taylor believed it.  She did not attend the meeting to discuss how to distribute the few duties the VP of Manufacturing had done.  That was ultimately up to the Board.
    • Abigail Genevieve
Lunch was at Cabaret, still free.  The place was quiet: it was the sort of place you took a business client to impress them, and the few other people were in business suits.  Most of the legal profession was there.   She told him of the morning's frustrations, breaking her own rule about confidentiality.  She asked Karen how the branding was going, and Karen had snapped back that she had not started on it yet - they had all these proposals.  Taylor had explained that it was important, for the two o'clock meeting, and Karen told her to do it herself.  Karen pointed out that Taylor could not touch her - her uncle was on the Board and her brother was VP of Manufacturing.  Nor would the two computer guys go out to the plant - they were playing some kind of MMORPG and simply not available. If she wanted the pictures, she should go.  Mary prayed an Ave Maria, but both she and Brenda were racing to get the proposal out. The client wanted it Friday for review.   She didn't bring up what Mrs. McCarthy had told her.  She wasn't sure how to approach it.  She thought of telling her of a 'something more comfortable' she had bought in case he ever DID show up at her door. It was in the bottom drawer of her dresser, ready to go.  Instead she talked about moving to a place with a garage.  Several of the abandoned houses had one, and they had been maintained well with China cash.   Bob had finally realized that when he was introduced as Bob, Taylor's boyfriend, that was just how things were done here. Roosevelt is like that, with the families, but there is only one spelling."
