I could not agree with your morning sentiments- and John Wayne's too. I'm in the northeast so it's still too cold to enjoy morning coffee on the back porch but even here in my den is right where I want to be on early winter mornings.

Sorry @Marcie Jensen!! I could not agree MORE with your sentiments. Am I missing the edit button to fix "oopses?"

Hi @April Marie! I know how frustrating it can be when editing. No worries, it's all good. (I manage a number of "oopses" on a daily basis. Especially now that I'm wearing my fingernails longer. Love th4e look, but it makes it hard to type. LOL.

Sorry you've got to deal with the northeast winter. It can get pretty cold there from what I remember when I was stationed at FT Monmouth NJ decades ago. There's also something nice about being in your den with a fire in th4e fireplace, a warm throw blanket and that first cup of coffee that's hard to beat on a cold winter morning.

Hug.

it happened today. I was demoted to a driver. I now work Tues-Fri 8:30-6 and Sat 7:30-4 Sat. No more putting up with the BS. I did lose $.50 an hour.

Well I was told by my youngest this evening that the Explorer is his and my wife's. So, I figure fine. I'll continue working on my Ranger.  The hell with them.

Good morning everyone! The dogs have been walked and fed and I've had my first cup of coffee. I'm ready to start this beautiful day.

My wife has always enjoyed making Valentine's Day special for us. She loves to cook and plans a special dinner, normally something she's not made before. She loves tulips so I always get them for her - but she insists I buy them at the grocery story, not a florist, without a vase because she's collected many vases over the years. We exchange cards and a small gift before dessert - something typically less than $30 - and spend the evening together.

This was our first Valentine's Day after my coming out to her New Year's morning. Our cards were strikingly similar focused on commitment to each other forever. We each shed some tears - mostly tears of joy - had lots of open conversation and agreed it was the very best one, yet.

I gave her a bouquet of 40 tulips and a small necklace. She gave me a pair of earrings. 😍  Earlier in the day, she gave me a pajama set that she got for us both on the big Talbot's clearance sale so we can "twin.".

I am feeling especially blessed and happy this morning. Be safe and enjoy the day!!!

Good morning

it was a nice day here yesterday and may be even nicer tomorrow.  February temperatures near 80 are always welcome.  But not the storms that could erupt.

@Katie23  I took everything said in good humor and meant my response to be likewise.  Good humor with some truth intermingled, but no disrespect taken nor given.

@KymmieL i sorry about the demotion. Anyway you could make a case for discrimination?  They can be hard to prove and are often dismissed with a termination.  But seems to me the I wasn’t late just forgot to clock in would be an easy one.  Doesn’t the store have a security system that had to be disarmed?  The record of when it was disarmed is proof of your arrival time.

I suppose it just depends on how far you want to push back and the local job market.

those costs you mentioned for the modifications to the 1st generation Explorer are why I won’t be modifying mine.  It needs some repairs but I bought it for its towing and comfort.  The only vehicle I’ve had recently that was more comfortable was a Ram SLT with cloth seats.  I drove it from Denver to Virginia alone when I bought it from my son and found it was very comfortable to drive.  The only reason I sold it was economy and it was too big for my wife.  She tried to take out a telephone pole with the side of the truck in a parking lot.  Claimed the pole moved. And a few similar things, always when backing up.

time for breakfast and shower.  I have an appointment with my cardiologist at 11:30.  Then I’m done with doctors until next year except for the ones I see quarterly for specific issues.

hugs

Good morning, all.

Read a review of A Man Called Otto, a movie with Tom Hanks. It has a positive trans character in it. Gotta see that one.

Also, Happy Nirvana Day today.

More tea!

Definitely go see the movie! My wife and I saw it several weeks ago and absolutely loved it. It ranks up there for me with one of the best movies I've seen.

@Willow I am not too up set about the change. I was wanting it. So, I could have more time to work on projects. Either mine or a honeydo. I continue to see my work place as a hostile work environment. It would be hard to prove. My word against the buddy-buddies, pretty much rest of the store.

I guess life goes on.

Was tired (and still are) last night but couldn't sleep. got up about an hour after going to bed. My wife is stressed, causing me to be more stressed then I already am. It is because of this up coming trip. All my wife is saying clean out the house, clean out the house. We are not doing that. ( me and our youngest) we don't even know what is even in there. It has been over 10 yrs since I have been in that house.

I just hope I am able to have coffee with Jackie when I am there. That is the only thing I am looking forward to. Other than seeing my oldest grandson and granddaughter on our drive home. yep, we are driving the rental back.

I hope I survive the trip. Ending it would be so nice, but I cannot do that to my sons and grandchildren. I will be taking my laptop and will stay in touch.

I need coffee.

Hugs,

Kymmie

When it was on Amazon Prime I started watching the original film "A Man called Ove" but I stopped as it was too depressing for me.  I read later that it did have a good ending.  It is a Swedish film so seeing the old SAAB's was cool as I am a fan who has driven them for decades.  Generally speaking I do not enjoy dark films.

There is definitely a dark aspect to it, especially early on, but it does become uplifting as it goes on. The human interaction as the film develops is superb, IMHO.

I'm a former Saab owner - my last was a 900 turbo and we loved it. Of course, with the film set in the US they change from the Saab/Volvo rivalry, but it's still funny.

Good morning, everyone! 1st cup of coffee is finished and I'm ready to head to the machine for another. I walked the dogs, fed them and read the newspaper - my normal morning routine. Looking forward to the days when I can sit outside to drink my coffee. Already seeing songbirds that normally don't arrive until March/April, though. Which means we are surely going to get a late Spring snow dump.

Enjoy the day!!

Good Thursday morning all

Today is supposedly going to be our warm day. 72 right at the coast with increasing temperatures as you go inland with a high of 80 in central SC.  We aren’t far from the coast so I suppose we will be in the 72 or so zone.

I received a weather alert for possible flooding,  but that’s for a river that is south of us by a fair amount.  It’s also related to the next round of rain and storm coming across the south.

I have noticed two things since my endocrinologist changed my dose and frequency for E. No migraines and not hot flashes.  The increases must have helped me.

We are trying out a new church congregation.  It is much closer to where we live and so far all the people have been warm and welcoming.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that several of our neighbors that we are friends with already go there.  Yesterday, we joined their lunch bunch.  Everyone greeted us openly.  So that was a good thing too.

we will just have to see how it goes from here, but I think we have a new church home.  Church is important to us and especially me.

Busy day today, grocery shopping.

hugs

Willow

Finally made it to Michigan. After over an hour delay getting out of Laramie. then the wait in Denver. then the fiasco getting the Rental car.

Beautiful weather here, freezing rain. Slide into the parking lot at the hotel. We are in our room. In the AM comes the fun. Even before we even get to my brother in laws house. We need to get, pay for his ashes, then to the sheriffs office to get his personal belongings. Then the lawyer.

Have a good night. I am beat.

Good morning, everyone! The dogs have been walked, fed and I've read the paper while downing my first cup of coffee. A bit breezy here this morning, but I get to enjoy the sound of the wind chimes on our back porch.

Happy Friday to those who still are out there in the workforce. Be safe and enjoy the day.

Good morning

im enjoying my first cup of Joe as I type and read.

The Southern branch of the storms is due here later.  Could be rather nasty since we will have daytime warming before the cold front gets here with the foul weather.

@KymmieL you are a good woman going through all of this to help your family.  It’s never a right time to deal with these things.

heading to the Y to an aqua fitness class and senior strength and stretch. I finally got some water shoes for the pool class so I don’t destroy my feet on the bottom of the pool.  Since both classes have the same instructor I think she’ll be surprised to see me in the aqua class.  I went once and hadn’t been back.

enjoy your day and your coffee.

I've had my two cups of coffee. Feeling a bit more like myself today. I'm really glad it's Friday because this week has been a long one for me. I decided not to continue with the swim team due to anxieties...and I'm going to focus on getting stuff ready for my move next year. doing more research and stuff like that.

I also started watching anime again yesterday which I'm proud of myself for doing. It's something I haven't had the interest in doing for quite sometime and I've wanted to get back into it because I really love watching good anime. I've stated rewatching Code Geass which is one of my all time favorites...this time I'm watching the English dub which I think is pretty good so far. I'm up to episode 10. Will probably be throwing in some other anime in there as well since Code Geass can get dark in some spots...but I enjoy it because of it's storytelling and dynamic characters.

Iowa's been a bit cold these past few days. Lots of things were canceled yesterday due to snow. We got about 3 inches here where I live. I'm so over the cold winters. Very much looking forward to spring.

Well a fiasco today too. First get the ashes, then head to the sheriffs office. They send us to the ME's office. They tell us everything that came in with my BIL went with him to the crematorium. SO back there. OH, you didn't ask about any personal items. Then to the house. We had to break in. once inside. wasn't too bad. We did find what caused his death.  hundreds of Nasty daddys Alcoholic energy drinks. My mother in laws old room had at least 40 boxes of 40 cans each all empty. probably another case or 3 in the front room.

a couple flat screens, game consoles & games (already claimed by my youngest) records. Now figuring out how to get the stuff my wife wants home. Not really much.

Hugs,

Kymmie

Good morning, everyone. I'm into the morning routine - dogs walked and fed, first cup of coffee downed and about to grab the second. Warmer than usual weather has a black bear prowling our bird feeders so I've got to keep an eye on the dogs when they are out doing their business. Based on paw prints, it looks to be pretty big.

Keeping you in my thoughts @KymmieL.

Good morning

fortunately, no storms only rain.  Today is a nice day but cold.  Now the warm up begins again.

@KymmieL it sounds like you got a bit of a run around there but finally got to where you wanted to be.

Teen group meeting went well.  We had a new boy.  11, in middle school and gets bullied at school.  The school hasn’t done anything to quell the bully.  Parents, especially dad, seems to be supportive up to a point.  He did keep calling him by his deadname.  I didn’t hear much from mom.

today, I will be baking bread and maybe some cinnamon rolls.  Good day for that.

Bob had the night off from teaching kara-tay and they planned to spend a lot of it at Cabaret.   Once in, Taylor waited for her man to park and looked around.  There was a sign "Mary, Paul and Peter LIVE tonight" and, sure enough, three microphones were standing in the open area.  A new hostess came up to her. "Are you alone?" "Oh, no.  He's coming." Taylor was led to a table. Bob was there in a minute and managed to get in there and seat her.  She smiled. "The act will be along in a few minutes. And Congratulations! I am SO EXCITED!!" Taylor responded to his look. "I got promoted." "To what?" "Head of Marketing." "You're kidding." "Nope.  It seems the Board finally woke up to the fact that the China cash cow may come to an end and they need to do something. Did you know that the VPs on up all get over a million dollars in compensation without really doing anything?" "No." "I am supposed to figure out how to re-energize over thirty acres of factory that have laid idle for forty years or more." "Why don't they do it?" She whispered,"the head of production is the son of the previous head of production. He has never produced anything."  She explained that everything was made in China and exported back to the US and sold under different brand names. "How am I going to find someone?" He smiled. "Congratulations. Sounds like a problem.  Hey, today we were talking about problems at our Philly plant.  One, it was built before World War 2. Second the city and state are tightening regulations and the tax structure is adverse.  Third, we get protestors every day, some of whom break into the factory.  People are talking about relocating." "We are forty miles from an interstate." "That is a plus.  Makes it harder for protestors to find us if we moved here." "You are really thinking that?" "I am, right now. I can't speak for the company.  I know there is a rail line." "Spur, actually, with several sidings.  The buildings are in good shape." "Do you have about five acres we could look at? How about if I take some pictures and send them off?" "Great.  And protestors would not be tolerated in Millville.  The factory area once upon a time was the main employer and people are very protective." Two weeks later she was in Philadelphia with Gibson and a few others.  The deal was signed and by end of summer ten acres, with an option on another ten, were being upgraded and equipment was coming in by rail. Not five, but ten.  She got a $20,000 bonus out of the blue.  The company was flush with Chinese cash that they didn't know what to do with. She was developing plans. But back to dinner.  "Did I tell you what they are paying me?" "No." She told him. "That is more than I am making." "You don't sound happy." "It takes some getting used to.  You are Management and Croesus combined." "Yeah. Is this a problem?" "No.  As I said, it takes some getting used to."  The musicians arrived and were introduced: three local teenagers in Peter Paul and Mary clothing and wigs like it was the 60s.  They began singing. "They are good," she said. "They are lip-synching." "They are good at lip-synching." They listened for a while. "Work is going to be intense for a while." "I'll bet." "I won't be able to talk to you about some of it." "I bet." They had a good evening.   The high point for Bob was that she let him put his hand on hers.  The high point for her was Bob did not seem threatened by her now being Management and making more than he did with a Masters. She didn't tell him she was likely to be in on the distribution of money the Chinese sent every year to keep them fat and happy.  But she had to finish up that report, so the evening ended early.  He drove her home, checked her apartment for people and again walked away hearing her lock the door three times.  She didn't say it, but he knew she was going to have a long talk with her therapist as well.   Her therapist was a night owl.

I sit back and think, am I this person? I definitely argue, but with the willingness to alter my opinion if I find that my information is lacking. So, no? I also don't go pointing fingers in faces like a crazed person, usually I am the one to argue with that kind of person; typically because they can't see past emotion and have little concern for actual facts. Sometimes it's sport that I do this (ENTP, baby!), but usually it comes from a place of trying to inform and shift opinion--or at least get them to actually obtain facts or get their facts from objective sources.

Thank you Vidanjali that is so great to hear. I'm glad the joy comes across even though the subjects are dark, and especially that my voice is pretty! This was really a breakthrough for me, and I revelled in the entire process. Never had creating music been so effortless from start to finish.

The thoughts and suggestions above are certainly excellent!  I might also suggest that you continue to reach out to the trans community where your feelings are understood through experience.  I have found that helpful.  The is especially true when i try to help another in distress, not to look for a fellow sufferer but to help another find a path to self acceptance and peace.  Funny how helping another can pull me out of my own funk. We are here to help as we can.  Remember you are not alone in your feelings.   Hugs,   Charlize

This is great, Betty. Your voice is so pretty and soothing. I listened to both tracks on your channel. The messages are clear and there is a very effective tone for the content you are portraying as it neither sounds antagonistic nor overtly facetious, but rather empowered and joyful.

@FinnyFinsterHH I am sorry to hear you're struggling so much. I'll start by saying I understand how this feels because I too have had episodes where I've gotten very upset about my chest to the point of panic or depression. So, I will offer what advice I can, but understand I know it's not easily done, though there are ways through it. Gradually think about whether someone you know can help get you a binder. Until then, because you feel this way when you realize your chest is there, you can work on developing mental techniques to get your mind off dwelling on your chest. You'll realize your chest is there throughout the day, of course, because the chest is a prominent part of the body.   First, think about addressing the physical reaction. Drink a glass of water and take several deep breaths. This can help to calm your body.   I strongly recommend mindfulness and meditation practices. You can practice techniques throughout the day, wherever you are. For example, say you catch a glimpse of yourself in a reflective surface and begin to feel sick, seeing the chest. Take a moment and instead cast your glance on anything around you, preferably something in nature like looking up at the sky or at a tree. Describe the object you're viewing in neutral terms meaning describe the color, texture, shape, borders, patterns, etc.; but avoid personal or emotional description such as, "It makes me feel..." or "It reminds me of...". This will redirect your mind away from dwelling on your body shape and calm the nervous system. There are many more mindfulness practices you can find online.   You can also try using a CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) journal app. In such an app will guide you to describe what upset you, the feelings, thoughts, and beliefs involved, analyzing and reframing them.    Finally, consider developing a regular meditation practice. This will strengthen your mind and gradually you will find yourself less prone to feeling consumed by upsetting events.    I should also mention, if you are artistic, consider channeling your experience into artistic expression. This has worked for me before - I've created a few art pieces addressing my experience of gender dysphoria. in such a way that felt empowering - like I owned it instead of it owning me.   None of these things is a quick fix. Nor should they be because what you're dealing with is a deep issue. But will sustained effort you can find your way to living with more peace and comfort.

I am a little different in my angle of approach on this one, but my skepticism on the "Phishing Trips" the AG's are taking is that they have gone into these investigations with the idea that illegal actions are occurring regularly.  They are going in on the information of unharmed third parties who have imagined fantastic "theories and plots of harm".  What is going to happen when the institutions turn over information that has NONE of this fantasy outcome in it.  Proof of a negative is impossible under standard logic and even most Laws of Evidence.  Just because the records do not show it happened will not in their minds equate to harm not having happened, just that someone is lying to them or covering up something that they know from their personal fantasies.  The problem is that they have made a public face of wisdom and social courage against the fantastic, they have their "glorious Quest"" and like Don Quixote will be tearing up windmills looking to justify their private images.
