I noticed that the art of a character in the back of a book looks like the villain from Rise of the Guardians mixed with Slenderman and now I can't unsee it.

Got to go to the tag office today.

I got a letter from the DMV that said my insurance was canceled and I hadn't turned in my tag as required.  I'm thinking what the heck?

It was late in the day, but I went over to my agent's office to find out what was going on.  I've been with them for years, and always pay the bill when they send it (twice a year).  Turned out that it was cancelled because I hadn't payed the bill.  I said I hadn't gotten the bill.  She checked, and for some reason they had sent it to an old address.

The company won't issue me a new policy, since I hadn't payed them.  In the past they had sent the bill to where I am now -- I don't get that part at all.

She set up a new policy with a different company (which was actually cheeper).

But now I need to go to the tag office, and pay a fine because I didn't turn in the tag when the insurance lapsed.  (because they sent the bill to the wrong place)

It kinda torqued me off.  But at least I won't have to go to jail.  Sheesh.

just about the same thing happend to me today

Yes grief is like that. It comes back unexpectedly and can really hit. I'm glad you have a therapist to help.

Good morning, everyone!! Exciting events in the U.K. and the U.S. today - Coronation and the Kentucky Derby. I plan on watching some of the Coronation coverage and enjoying Mint Juleps while watching the Derby. We also opened our pool this week so I'll spend some time putting out the pool furniture and working on getting the water cleared and the pool cleaned up.

Enjoy this beautiful day and be safe!!!

Wow, a lot going on here lately.  I have a beautiful wig, long real hair. VA supplied cost a pretty penny. Wore it once on the way home from the salon. My real hair is nice and long now so I don't need it.

It is terrible how some people take advantage of others sexually. Enough said on that.

Sounds like a pool party at @April Marie's. I'll bring the mountain dew. LOL. I would love to have a pool. But one would take up the whole back yard. Maybe when I'm rich and famous.

My Friday today. My weekend is messed up. Tomorrow going to cars and coffee in Cheyenne. Then out mandatory store meeting. Then Monday I get to go for jury duty over in Cheyenne.  If picked I could be there for the week. I just hope they like T-shirts and jeans. Only dress up clothes I have is a couple nice dresses.

OH, well life goes spinning out of control.

Hugs,

Kymmie

What a lovely day @ShawnaB! Sounds like it was fun and you scored some new dresses!

My wife and I dressed for The Kentucky Derby. We both wore dresses, our matching beige heels and hats, of course. Mint Juleps, salads with tuna followed by a little bourbon over ice made for a perfect evening while sitting at our bar. What a perfect evening!

Good morning, everyone! I've already finished my second cup of coffee, read the paper and have been reading a book as the world comes to life. The rabbits are awake - waiting to see the deer and turkey.

I will spend some time working on our pool - waiting for the shock to kill off the algae before vacuuming it out and getting the heater going. It looks like a nice day to wash my truck, too.

Be safe and enjoy this beautiful day!!

@April Marie sounds like a great day for you. I went ahead and took out a small loan to help me get what I needed for looking more feminine. I also was able to get more than a weeks worth of clothes. I was also able to find more clothes at the thrift store. I have found a really good deal on eight different perfumes for 35 dollars. I ordered some stuff from aliexpress since it was a lot cheaper. The downside is that I have to wait till June 4th to get some stuff. I was able to find a knock off brand of Ugg boots in size 13. I was pretty happy about that and I can't wait till they come in. I was able to find a reasonably priced Coach purse and matching wallet. I can't afford to spend a lot on electrolysis so I went with an IPL (Intense Pulse Light) hair removal. I know it's going to be permanent but I won't be shaving as much. I got it from a company that has been working with trans women for a very long time. I had my cup of coffee for the day and I might go with the second. I hope that everyone else is having a good day.

Good morning all

@ShawnaB it always nice when you get positive feedback from strangers.  Way to go.  I haven’t purchased any new clothes in months.  I’ll soon need some new bras.  I’m starting to spill out of what I have!

@Charlize did I miss this years maple syrup collection?  It will soon be blueberry picking time won’t it!  Do you use a round baler or the rectangular type?  When I was a teen t worked at a summer camp.  My job was stacking and interlocking the bales in the hay barn. After a while as the stack got too tall, the others weren’t tossing the bales high enough and I pulled a muscle trying to catch them on the side of the stack and lift them up.  After that my job was driving the tractor that pulled the rake. Equipment has changed a lot since the 60s.

I’m on my first cup right now. I slept a little later than normal. I wa# a bit annoyed yesterday, after getting complemented on how good the drink cooler was looking on Wednesday, I went in to do some shelf filling and discovered someone had totally messed it up.  Empty cartons strewn on the floor, stack of back stock knocked over.  Loose bottles and cans all over the place.  It took more time cleaning up then I was able to spend stocking.

have a good day, looks like a nice one here.

Good morning everyone,:coffee:

Today is starting off well, I learned a new acronym, and my hands don't seem to hurt as much this morning after several days in the shop. @CharlizeI hope you have the dry time to put up your hay. The farmers here are a little behind planting because of soil temperature, then rain.

Hugs,

Sometimes it's just the small wins that can make us happy. I'm so glad you're finding your way through getting the clothes you need. Life, even when we aren't exactly where we want to be, can still be good.

I've been using an IPL unit, too. It works well and has significantly reduced hair growth, especially on my legs. I hope it works as well for you!!!

I had three cups of coffee (aka I feel like a normal person) today and went to my grandma's choir concert, then when I got back home was barely able to set my stuff down before being shoved outside.

While outside watching my sisters (against my will) I got yelled at for trying to keep them safe, was yelled at for trying to wrangle the four-year-old back inside, and was yelled at for being (understandably) pissed. Then after all that, I was yelled at that "If I'm going to be in my room, I'd better be cleaning it", so... yeah. The rest of the day was great, at least.

I also wasn't told I had to stay out there with my sisters until I tried to get them back inside.

Watched my wife get emotional and comfort her.We watched the documentary,The Invisible War last night. She was in the National Guard for 4 years where she was sexually assaulted and raped by her commander.Reported it and nothing was done about it.She has PTSD and anxiety issues from it getting help and has support from me

That's awful.  Seems like military life is hard enough without adding suffering to it.  My husband served in the National Guard, and he refuses to talk about it.  We don't watch war movies or military documentaries at our house.

Well, I'm back from my road trip.  I kind of enjoy the luxurious touches that are so different from my simple life at home.  Usually if I travel with my husband, we sleep in the bunk in the truck.  But since there were four of us, we got a nice hotel.  And I mean...NICE.  I think it was some sort of executive suite, with a beautiful view of the city lights.

It was hilarious, though...when we checked in, my husband was carrying me due to my bad ankle.  The staff clearly weren't prepared to see him with an armload of androgynous Pocket Fox.  They actually offered me a wheelchair and gave us a more accessible suite, so I had to tell them I prefer to be carried and that this was normal for me.  I could tell that they had difficulty figuring out what pronouns to use, etc...

It is rare for me to experience something like delivery food or room service...we live very simply at home.  I don't think I've ever eaten such a fancy steak!  And I could order whatever cocktail I wanted, straight from the bar to our room.  Amazing.  Hard for me to imagine that there people who actually live like that all the time.  The suite came with two king-sized beds, which felt odd to me.  I'm used to sleeping in the middle, or at least pressed next to my husband in the bunk in the truck.  I couldn't adjust to the space, so we ended up putting both mattresses on the floor in one of the rooms, and sleeping with the 4 of us together.  I've traveled around the USA and I've been elsewhere, but sometimes I think that socio-economic differences are bigger than cultural differences.

Sounds like you had a great time. Good on ya!

"socio-economic differences are bigger than cultural differences" It does seem like the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. (I might be quoting Midnight Oil on that bit). I'm in the poor group - but my kids are in the richer group.

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.

A U.S. dollar bill can be folded approximately 4,000 times in the same place before it will tear. -You cannot snore and dream at the same time. -The average person walks the equivalent of three times around the world in a lifetime. -A hippo’s wide open mouth is big enough to fit a 4-foot-tall child in. -Chewing gum while you cut an onion will help keep you from crying.

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.   All My Best, Susan R🌷

Colorado isn't exactly a Republican place, and won't become one anytime soon.  I think those folks might be better off not spending their time playing Don Quixote.    We certainly have our share of California "refugees" moving into where I live, so I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Coloradans too.  I suspect the trend over the next few years will see the blue areas getting more blue and the red areas getting more red as anybody who can relocate tries to find a place where they fit better.
