Nice afternoon ended poorly as I arrived home the manager stopped me. She received 7 complaints against me just today ranging from excessive noise, harassing neighbours, and letting the CNA in the main door in the morning wearing PJs.

Was asked to follow the noise restrictions, not wear PJs in the lobby, and refrain from talking to neighbours.

What the heck?  Do they think you're having parties at 2am? I'd bet the complaints are mostly from that one guy...

Birdie, why does the manager think it is you making the noise, does the manager have a record of when the noise occurred and who else in the building do you know that might be making this noise? Ask the manager not to contact you without direct proof, giving time and date of noise, type of noise and what steps at the time were taken to resolve the issue by the complainant, such as a note under your door to let you know. You really do need to seek advice on harassment or victimisation

Well, the manager handed out lease violations for smoking to about half the people in my hallway.

Yesterday one neighbour was telling another, "that's the bastard that turned us in."

I'm not very popular in the building right now. Although I'm not the one that was breaking building regulations by smoking in my unit. I never did give out names or unit numbers. I simply told the manager that the nurses and CNAs were complaining about the smell of cigarettes in my unit.

She basically just let me know complaints were filed. I received no lease violations. She gave me hints on trying to make things blow over. Be very careful! She is working with me, the neighbours not so much.

Good morning

@Birdie I read a us news article, very broad strokes, showing that 23 states were at the lowest rung of trying to protect equal rights. The swath was the eastern southern states, up to Ohio west through Texas then heading north. Out layers included Arizona an the highest rating went to Utah northeast star ting with Virginia and western three were all good

what a catastrophe in DC. A military helo and a passenger jet. Since the helo had the markings  of a VIP.  I wonder who was really on it.

Sounds like they're making stuff up as retaliation.  I'd guess the manager is aware, since there's no real lease violations.

Sure seems like both your apartment and day center are basically hell.  Hopefully you can get out of there, even just to some other place nearby.  Frankly, I'd prefer to live in a tent or under a bridge.  People can be just the worst...

Good morning everyone

Sad news out of Washington DC this morning and I pray for the families of those affected by the mid air collision of the plane and Blackhawk helicopter.

@Birdie I hope you’re able too move away from all this hate and prejudice. While I’m not on the forums every day, you’re in my daily prayers.

I do believe the next 4 years are going to be very difficult for all of us in the transgender wing of the LGBTQA community. Personally I experienced a bit of affirmation from my wife. Yesterday we were filling out information for a service, on her computer. When it came to listing my preferred gender and pronouns she clicked X and they/them without asking me. My response was thank you & I love you.

Parker puppy slept in this morning not requesting to leave his crate until 07:00. Letting him out the back door places me at at our home coffee bar. So I started my first mug of coffee, right now I’m waiting for my second mug to cool enough to drink.

Hugs,

We are blessed with being a sea port, home of the white star line, and Cunard we get regular visits from the Cunard fleet, as well as the disney ship which is always fun to go and visit, Last year Queen anne was named in Liverpool to a big turn out. With all the negative goings on its nice to try and focus on more positive events

Good morning

fence-o-meter is 51° right now it’s supposed to be ten the seventies later but very windy.late this afternoon with rain.  Not much happening today for me. Iwas very surprised when I opened my mail.  I received all my tax documents and I found my income to be higher than I expected.  The large boost to SS turned out to be more than an I thought because the large increase to Medicare took such a big chunk of it.

for some reason I am pretty tired this morning. Could be stress but mine is nothing compared to @Birdie.  Four years of 47 is going to be the death of a lot of us through stress.

well, we decided on paint colors for our bathroom and bedroom now the fun begins.  Did I ever tell you how much I hate painting?  Especially when it takes two coats which I’m sure it will to cover the builders sprayed on colored water.  That is more to hide imperfections then to paint the walls.

The haters are so much meaner and bolder now, but at least not one has resorted to physical violence. Closest to physical contact was a participant tapping my ponytail with his cue stick and saying, "what they F is that tinkerbell?"

A couple comments from fellow participants yesterday that could be ignored. I am still required to dress androgynous, but always have been since attending.

New participants and staff still peg me as cis-female until corrected by staff or participants. Basically, changing my residence and medical daycare will resolve most of my problems. Oregon will be a nice change (used to live there).

I'm legally female based off my birth certificate, and I pass without problems amongst strangers so bathroom use is easy enough if needed. I still prefer the family all-gender if available. The Texas bathroom laws both local and state won't effect me too much.

Let's home we have seen the extent of new laws and regulations.

@kat2 Sounds like the weather’s in full grumpy mode over there. Cute, it looks like Mia and Sammy are keeping the mood light.

What do you think is going on?

For me the issue is the timing of what he said, not the content.  DEI hiring quotas and such are definitely an issue.  There's currently a lawsuit against the FAA for that, IIRC.  But... until there's time to investigate, its not time for him to speculate on what could have happened.

Meanwhile, here in flyover country, life goes on as normal. Spent time yesterday pruning fruit trees and grape vines.  We had a really good harvest last year, and the vines are well established so hopefully this year will be even better. Planning on finishing today, and tilling the soil again.

Sorry/not sorry, but it IS the content.

Politicizing a tragedy, who does that?

I generally try to stay out of conversations about US politics lately, and I don't intend to debate this topic, but this may be the most chilling of all the chilling Trump moments I have witnessed yet. Yes, I know about all the terrible things he's said and done regarding trans folks, and I'm very sorry about that, truly. But I don't believe this "DEA" comment is stupid, not at all. It's actually a quite brilliant way to promote racism and anti-LGBTQ sentiment without naming it. When he blamed the LA wildfires on DEA hiring because of the lesbian fire chief I was outraged but thought maybe it was just a flippant comment, but now I suspect it was strategic and such allegations are about to be codified as policy. The official stance of the Trump administration will henceforth be that any accident or disaster or act of negligence can and no doubt will be blamed on DEA hiring. In other words, on anyone who's not cis-het and white and preferably male. And no evidence is necessary, not even evidence that any non-white non-males were involved. I would spell out what this looks like to me but, like I said, I don't want to get drawn into any pointless arguments.

I am so, so, so sorry for you all in the States. My heart goes out to you.

Good morning all!! Just a quick reminder that this forum is designed to be a social thread. When @KymmieL proposed it, her idea was: I thought about having a thread. For us users to have a social thread to say, good morning. Maybe say what is planned for the day. Working, going shopping, a Dr's appt anything. Even how you slept. Just keep it social and within the rules set forward. I'll start.

Rule 15 of our Community Rules requires that sensitive topics like politics and religion be discussed in the specifically labeled areas for them.

Before we get too far out of kilter, let's get back to the original intent here.

My apologies April Marie. I should have remembered that rule.

I am trying to stick to one issue: trans kids. But I'll save that for other threads.

Good morning everyone! I hope it's a good one!

I slept great, already had a productive morning grocery shopping, and today I get to study for midterms, and cook something new called Karniyarik!

How is everyone doing?

Up early today, yet to make coffee. Fell asleep on the couch, woke up at 3, and decided to stay there instead of wake up my wife. Naturally, that meant that when she woke up she’d come downstairs and ask me why I did. I was asleep. I guess I get to wake up at 5:50 today. A morning person I am not, so today should be long and I’ll be groggy.

Still trying to get that elusive job. I apply for so many and tailor resumes and do all the Things You’re Supposed To Do(tm), but have only had one request for interview in all these many months—and that was because the recruiter didn’t bother checking my relocation preference. My experience was perfect, but not my location. I guess I am more desirable elsewhere.

That sentence probably can be applied in more ways than one.

Happy Friday everyone, the weekend is here! And it feels just like any other day.

Eeyore out.
