Prayers for your mom Heather Nicole.

Good morning.

Every moment is another new opportunity to pin my shoulders back, straighten up, soften the voice, and smooth the personae.

And I must confess I've become hopelessly addicted to to the trans memes subreddit r/traa over on reddit. Don't even remember how I discovered it...

Well, for me it was a YouTuber. Those can be incredibly wholesome. I usually cry at least once when he goes through the subreddit.

I think I've alluded to this before, by my mom's been on chemo for a little over a year now. I've been taking an approach of "I'm not going to worry unless there's cause to worry", and that's helped considerably, but I'm starting to worry a little more now because it seems the chemo's effectiveness may be plateauing, and there doesn't appear to be more options beyond keep going as-is and hope for the best. On top of that, I don't even have my own life figured out, so, things could be catastrophic in more ways than one.

That's a long time to be on chemo. I've been through that with my wife and maternal grandmother. My heart goes out to you. People you love with cancer is one of the more difficult things this life has for you to navigate.

Thanks, Heather Nicole. It’s been a very bumpy road as of late but eventually I hope to get thru it.

OMG. I just read through your surgery blog, that must have been terrifying. The worst is over now though. You'll get through this. Lay back, breathe and remember, you're a princess for another 3-5 weeks.

Hugs!

Hi

not real chipper this morning, I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night and what I did get was full of bad dreams.

Heather Nicole I’m sorry to hear that your mother isn’t doing well.  Cancer is devastating for the person with it and those that love them.  When my doctor told me, I didn’t hear another word he said.

I need to get ready, we are going to Charleston to pick up my wife’s sewing machine.  It been in the shop since before the holidays.

Good morning to you all on this Wednesday.

@Heather Nicole I'm very sorry to hear aout your mother. Sending you, her and your family positive energy to help you through this time. It's hard to avoid worrying though, even if we tell ourselves not to - it's a natural feeling when someone so close to us battling cancer.

@Willow Sorry to hear about the restless night and bad dreams. May today and tonight be more peaceful for you.

Going to be a busy day here, I need to laser-focus on a grant proposal due in a few days and the construction noise outside isn't helping my cause at the moment. Hoping to raise some needed funds to support programs in the non-profit I work at. The pandemic has been very harsh on our budgets so everything helps. I know what I'm going to write, just need to dedicate the time to get it out in a hopefully coherent way. This girl is going to need lots of coffee today...

Happy birthday @ElizabethStar. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Love,

~Audrey.

Well morning everyone. Coffee is strong and hot. And goddess does it have its work cut out today.  Ended up having to run back home because I forgot my wallet and duty weapon this morning. But I guess it can only get better from here so, have a great one!

Ugh!

I got the call from my surgeon’s office.  I have to be at the hospital at 6:45 AM!  Guess I won’t be catching extra zzzs tonight.  The good news is if I’m first in line, I’ll be home earlier.

on a better note, I got a follow-up call about Covid vaccine.  And immediately registered.  Now it’s a waiting game until they call me with a time and date.

@ElizabethStar Happy Birthday Lady.  🎂🍰

Thanks everyone for the birthday well wishes. Most of the stuff happened at work. I arrived to boxes of donuts that were bought in my honor, a hand made card. it was all so very sweet. At lunch I got free Starbucks. Later on I had to goto our other building to pick up my customary gift card. Lot hugs and we miss yous. The assistant accountant was really shocked when she saw my nails change color right before her eyes, she was so cute. They gave me birthday cupcakes and wanted to sing. too soon for that, for me.I feel bad but ...honestly I would have cried, I'm not ready to cry in front of co-workers just yet. I went back to my own building and things pretty much went back too normal. My wife got me typical small gift things and a visa gift card.. She said I can Buy anything I want, Even woman's clothing,. She did add a disclaimer, of course she did. She doesn't want to see me in a dress. Nothing was mentioned about skirts. She made us a pizza while I installed our new alarm system.  I and just spent at this point so Thank you everyone and good night.

@ElizabethStar sounds like you had a good birthday.

well not time to leave for the hospital yet but I’m ready to go. Just waiting on my better half.  She has to do all the work for a few weeks. I won’t be able to walk or drive. Made the coffee but for her, I can’t have any.

let you know when I’m awake, truly awake later.

Good morning everyone!

@Petra Jane What a lovely winter scene. Sometimes I miss living in a snowier climate. It's inspiring me to venture upstate or to VT or NH to ski before the winter's over but I feel conditions haven't been great this season. It's been unseasonably dry here in NYC this January.

@JustineM I wish you well in coming out to your mother, and I look forward to reading about it when you do!

@ElizabethStar It's wonderful to read about the positivity at your workplace - everyone really seems to accept you! Homemade pizza sounds yummy. I do wish your wife wouldn't force you to walk on such a narrow path. Do you want to buy and wear a dress? I also hope she's held up her side of your recent agreement to let you introduce yourself.

@Willow Hoping all is going well for you early this morning! Keep us posted.

@KymmieL Hoping you've been able to work everything out so you can start HRT! Sending positive energy your way.

Back to work on the grant today. I'm going to need quite a bit of coffee this morning, I can feel it already.

Love,

~Audrey.

That is a lovely garden Petra Jane.  I've learned to wrap our boxwoods with bird netting to keep heavy snows from doing damage.  So far we have only had one good snow this year.  It is always son pretty even though there is more work for an old gal.

Hugs,

Charlize

So far this season we have only had a little snow. What we need is a week of just snow fall nothing to big. Still waiting to hear. I haven't done any checks this morning yet as this is usually the first place I come to when I get online.  Gotta keep up with all the gossip, its what us girls do. LOL

Finally a day off. My body is not liking being on my feet for hours. my lower back after just a day is killing me. then feels better in the morning then repeat. I need to get a nice desk job.

I like to see it myself having grown up with it.   But I'm glad to not have to deal with it often.  Here we only get some very occasionally.

I love a nice gentle snow.  The kind with the big fluffy  flakes.  Which we rarely get here. Most of the time it snows  sideways.

Almost ready to do the happy girl  dance. Got a call from the pharmacist who is part of the anticoagulation  clinic. It sounds like they a proved the request for me to go on E.

He is looking at with a large  dose of blood thinners that  he recommends do a full dose of E.  He wants to contact my Endocrinologist to talk with him about it.  Hope to hear something later today. Getting my dancing shoes ready.

Good afternoon everyone,

Coffee was HOT, black, and strong. The mood in the house is quiet. Not Good when she clams up...

@Petra Jane I love the snow too, just as @KymmieLsays big fluffy flakes, and I'm okay with it getting deep.

Hugs,

I'm really excited for you Kymmie! This has been a long time coming so I'm hoping for the best, and I'll be ready to join you in your happy dance.

@Willow I'm so relieved to hear that your surgery went smoothly and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Back to work...

I hear you.  Mine are only "A"s.  Almost.  "B"s would be so much better.  At least they would be bigger than my stomach. 🙃  After four years, I guess they are all I am going to get.

Never played a lot of that. I own a copy, but my group didn't really gel with White Wolf rules. Except maybe Street Fighter. White Wolf writes (or at least wrote, I haven't checked out their products in years) pretty good flavor text.   Hugs!

That would drive me nuts. The first place I feel the cold is my breasts. Cold air hits my skin and I'm all, "Ahh! My boobs!" I forget how early you are into the process, but every little thing bothered them in the beginning. I used hot compresses to get them to relax. They're better now (at, what? 36 months?), but they're still really sensitive.   You're probably OK, but I'd ask my Endo or my PCP (if they're in the loop) just to be sure. You don't want to take chances with your breasts.   Hugs!

Salutations @Holly Brandt! Welcome to Transgenderpulse!   So yeah, 55 isn't all that old. I didn't come to terms with my situation until I was 48. I suspected and dreamed for a very long time before I decided to stop hiding and go for it. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.   A lot of us older gals have trouble with marriage. It's hard to build a stable relationship on a foundation of misdirection. We don't mean it, but if you can't be yourself with your spouse, you're asking for trouble. Some marriages survive, some don't. The odds are basically a coin flip weighted ever so slightly in your favor. I've done dumber things with a smaller chance of success, but I'm glad this particular one worked out for me.   So once again, welcome! We're glad you're here!   Hugs!

Finally home for a minute. Decent workout at the gym to start my day. I forgot my towel though so I spent more time than I like wiping the machines down with paper. @Jamie68, I was more worried about losing bone density, but I've got a pretty intense workout going on (well, now). I can't say for sure how much upper body strength I lost because I didn't have much when I started, but, depending on what you're talking about, I can squat 180 pretty easily and leg press 450. My chest press is at about 180. I don't deadlift. Well, my straight-leg deadlift was 230 today, but I don't do a full deadlift. I know it's good for me, but I'm afraid I'm going to hurt myself with or without a spot. Probably silly, but there you are. Then again, I'm a giant dork and it's probably a miracle I haven't crippled myself yet. So yeah, research says that after about 9 months on HRT (Well, MtF HRT obviously) you lost around 30% of your performance capability. At around two years you're where a cis-woman would be. Basically we're like big cars with small engines. I'm at about two-and-a-half years so there's nowhere to go but up. Assuming that I keep exercising and taking care of myself.   I got my wife's wedding ring back from the jeweler today. It was shedding diamonds again. Poor thing. The jeweler decided not to charge us anything because they go to where my spouse works for their vet care. I was wound so tight that about had me bawling right there in the store.   Next up is lunch. Lunch will be boring but if I'm going to lose the rest of this weight I need to stick to my diet. I miss food.   After lunch, I'm going to put on some pants (my leggings do nothing to stop the cold) and start shoveling. The snow is heavy and wet, so it should be an absolute joy.   Hugs!

I think society in general is becoming more accepting with transgender people. I have 2 relatives who just came out recently. The most recent is a 13 yr old niece/nephew starting HRT for FTM transition. Seems awful young, but they've been dealing with dysphoria for years, with therapy. He's lucky to have parents who support him. I couldn't even begin to talk to MY parents about it. They probably would have put me in a mental institution.

There are three terms on attraction I can think of.   Sapphic, is also known as Woman Loving Woman (WLW), LBPQ (Lesbian, Bisexual, Pansexual, Queer), and Difemina, a woman/woman-aligned gender person who's attracted to women/woman-aligned (exclusively or not)    https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/Sapphic     Achillan, also known as men loving men (MLM), apollian, chaeronean, and chaeronic, is a Man/man-aligned gender person who's attracted to men/man-aligned (exclusively or not)   https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/Achillean     Diamoric - also known as adonian, adonic and cypric, is a Non-Binary person who's attracted to any person.   https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/Diamoric    😅 Probably missing a few other terms, plus who knows maybe more terms are being conjured as we speak.

I'm a little short on patience also. I want "B" cup breasts so bad, I get depressed they're not growing faster. Shame on me for complaining. At 5 months I'm probably ahead of schedule with my "A" cups. Mostly want them bigger so that I will HAVE to come out to my family. I want to wear girl stuff SO bad. I have been leaving little clues around the house, but no one has mentioned anything yet. Wearing pretty high cut boy shorts and painting my toenails helps with the dysphoria some. Dressing and living as a woman will be much better. Sorry about the whimpering.   Jamie

Those little creeps piss me off.  They got into some of my clothes and chewed a hole in one skirt.   They always seem to get my favorites.  I have a kitty, but she seems to prefer to do her hunting outside.  Useless thing.  Well, I still like her.   No snow here, had thunderstorms last night.  They claim it's supposed to be warm today - we'll see.   Spent the weekend at my daughter's house.  That was a nice break.  A friend up there has a teenaged daughter who is saying she is trans now.   Fortunately her mother is quite open to it.  I did tell them about this place if they want to check it out.   I watched Jack Rabbit's latest youtube.  It is pretty good for for an older girl to watch.
    • Jamie68
I went to the gym with my 23 yr old  grandson this morning. First time since start of transition almost 5 months ago. They say you loose upper body strength. Oh yeah, they weren't wrong. He was doing 260 pounds and I was lucky to do 30 pounds. What a shock! I knew I was getting weaker, but didn't know it was that bad. Time to get serious about working out. Don't want to get ripped, just want to stay healthy.

40 degrees? That's a heat wave for us Illinois gals. Love the coffee cup. We only got maybe a half inch of snow and a little freezing rain here in Pontiac.

@KymmieLPatience is a virtue.  Keep telling yourself that, patience is a virtue, like hell it is when your waiting on HRT meds.  Makes a girls lose it! yes good socks that are thick and soft just can’t be parted with.  I have three pair.   Willow

Keira, boo hiss, auto zone. O'reilly is much better. JK.   @Willow , I know a good pair of socks is like an old friend.   Well, my Thursday. We got about 2" of white crap. My oldest in Lincoln, NE had 15" on the ground yesterday. And still coming down. The mule express must have gotten lost between here and Cheyenne. Still no E. anxious to get it.   Have a safe day everyone.   Kymmie

Yes this is true.  If you are attracted to the other sex it may be that you always had that but repressed it.
