Rachel I understand the need for an IV this morning. lol. It must be this weather system moving in but it took a major amount of willpower to get out of my warm bed and go for my morning walk with the wife and dog.

Hi again,

today was a shower day.  My wife was busy putting together supper in the crock pot so I went in on my own.  Bad idea, very bad!  I have to wear a bag over my foot to keep it dry.  Apparently I did a poor job of sealing it because my foot is pretty wet.  And if I thought it felt miserable, that’s nothing compared to wet.  I’m spending the day in PJs it’s all I had that would go over my foot.  I’ll deed the only other thing Wednesday and Friday.  My wife suggested I stay naked.  I didn’t think that was a good idea.

@KymmieL, one thing we all do is let our minds wonder and they always go to the bad side.  It’s not easy but try to just let things happen as they come.  Don’t always think the worst, all you are doing is building up your internal stress.  If she’s going to leave you, she will, but in the meantime don’t dwell on it, don’t think every odd thing is in preparation to leave.  You will drive yourself crazy with stress.

Good morning all. I had my coffee at 4:00 today. Waffles, peanut butter and honey. Speaking of cleaning, I can't even step into my garage. Been a construction worker for over 40 years, and handyperson. I think it's time to clean up at 68, I feel I should slow down on construction projects and enjoy life more. Besides, I don't have the strength or energy for that stuff anymore. Just about finished with a room I added to my house. House was built in 1900. Just way too much to do with old houses. Hope you all have a great day.

Good afternoon from the Central Time Zone,

@Jamie68 cleaning/reorganizing the garage is something I do every 4th or 5th project. Some of the things I'm working on now are to facilitate my future retirement projects/capabilities. My shop table is organized chaos with off fall from recent work. The most effective way to clean it is with a wire mesh strainer over my shopvac hose. Anything smaller than a #8mm nut will pass into the waste bin, all other objects are pulled off and sorted for later use. Sawdust, metal filings, and smaller nuts bolts and washers are gone never to be seen again. My tablesaw is my layout surface, my work bench is heavy duty for pounding, blocking, and bracing.

They built a whole whole industry around "This Old House" including my favorite comedian/actor Tim Allen.

Good luck with your garage sort,

Mindy🐛🌈🦋

LOL.   My son bought a late19th century farmhouse.  He has been a very busy fellow.

Willow, you should just get a nice big flannel nightgown.   That will take care of it all - and be very comfy.

Well...

Had my call with doctor about blood work today at 230 while at work.  It went great.  I had my HRT meds in hand by 430.  Super happy to be starting this but also a little nervous.

Congratulations!

Did you make it out of the pharmacy parking lot before you took your first dose? I didn't. Managed to the the first patch on in the (cramped) front seat of a '92 Saturn SL1 in front of the Goddess and everyone. 😉

May you enjoy the ride and it bring you all you wished for and more!

Hugs!

That's wonderful news. @2beBreanna.  Kind of scary though, isn't it?  I haven't started yet...but soon.  I feel your excitement/nervousness.

Enjoy the experience!

Yes but only because I did not eat anything today and did not want to take meds on empty stomach.  I made it home and ate then took first dose.

@Ann W
Yes it is scary to think about the changes that will hopefully come.  It's funny how something we soo want to happen can be so scary at the same time.

Congratulations @2beBreanna I wasn’t nervous, I was excited to get started.  But, I still waited so that I took them on a schedule that was easy to follow.  I was momentarily hesitant before giving myself my first estradiol shot, but I just went for it.  Not hesitant anymore takes longer to get everything out and sanitized.

Congratulations @2beBreanna, Here’s to the start of your medical transition. May your results be everything you’re hoping for and that the timing of the changes will be an easy adjustment for you.

My Best,

Thanks. I will need Luck and a couple more garbage cans. The big flannel night gown sounds good too. Congrats on your starting on HRT. That's awesome.

Thanks everyone.  It happened a lot faster than I thought it would.  I wish everyone would be able to start as easily.  To many hoops to jump through for many.

Gotta get to bed early tonight so I can wake up at 4 to shovel before work.  Where can I get a cozy flannel nighty.  Can't seem to find cute comfy pjs.

That's a great question! I never thought of getting one of those! That would be really nice to have in addition to pajamas.

Congrats @2beBreanna!   I couldn't stop myself and took mine as soon as I got in the car. Why did I park so far away? Stupid street parking.

One of my friends at work gave a bag of clothes today. She came into my office area with it and immediately started  rummaging through it. Pulling stuff out and showing it to me. I think you'll like this...This'll look good on you. I was only slightly mortified this was happening. My office mates are guys and knew me before, made it kinda awkward. I got some nice stuff though and a dress. A sleeveless dress none-the-less. Of course I had to try it on when I got home (I tried it all on). It fits....really good. I just started going out in skirts and now a dress appears in my life. Just need an occasion to wear it. And the wife thing. I think she said no dresses but I'm not sure if that was no buying, wearing or just not in front of her. Oh well, life's a gamble.

Aww, @ElizabethStarthat would be so cool! I would have such a hard time waiting to get home to try them all on! Love it!! That was really sweet of her ❤️

It's great that you have that kind of support with your coworkers. I don't think any of mine would have been that thoughtful.

Early morning to y’all .

woke up an hour ago and couldn’t get back to sleep.  I won’t make coffee this early though.

so yesterday I took a shower.  I bagged my foot carefully so it wouldn’t get wet.  No didn’t get wet, it got soaked.  I tried all day to get it to dry.  Used a fan, a hair dryer anything I could come up with.  Still wet.  About 5pm I gave up.  I removed the wet cotton wrapping. Put on two clean, white Harley Davidson socks, and put on my air cast.  I know the doctor is not going to be happy with me but this is better than showing up Friday to get the stitches out with a damp bandage .  A lot more comfortable too.  Turns out there was a line of small holes on the bottom of the brand new Glad Kitchen bag.  Might as well buy the cheap ones.

I’ll be back later when the coffee is made and and I’m ready for a cup.

In my personal experience, when a tech realizes she's wearing a skirt and is therefore unable to modestly, for example, crawl under desks to attend to cables, she grabs a male co-worker and makes him do it. This method probably won't work for you in the field, so you'll need to pack a male co-worker (or at least someone wearing pants) in your truck for deployment as needed.   I suppose you could also wear leggings, boy-shorts or other appropriate garments under your skirt. That would mean you vacuum-packed a co-worker for nothing though.   Hugs!

I don't know, so far it hasn't happened. I have a pair of jeans in my trunk just in case but I haven't worn them in a couple years.

@VickySGV and @Carolyn Marie thank you both for sharing that with me. That makes me feel a lot better. I’m from the south and I don’t see a lot of out trans professors around here. I totally understand why, but it had me so worried that maybe there weren’t any. Thanks for giving me hope!!! I definitely want to move either up north or to California after graduation.

This things has been going on for a year now, I can't stand social distancing and wearing masks past the summer. And what I'm concerned about is that too many people will refuse the vaccine, sadly in the USA theres a bunch of anti vaxxers, and then there's the issue of we don't have a vaccine for kids yet, and it might take till next year to get one. And we can't vaccinate that many till we can vaccinate kids because they're 22 percent of the population

Hi,   catching up here, well skinning mostly.  Y’all been pretty prolific writers.   I don’t have my pilots license, I started that with my son as my instructor.  He is a commercial airline pilot with more ratings than I can keep up with.  He paid a lot of his way through Embry Riddle by instructing other students.  We had to stop when 911 hit. The school he taught at was too close to Dulles and was in the exclusion zone.    I have my motorcycle endorsement.  I used to ride a Harley Ultra Classic.  But it became unsafe for me to continue riding it after I tore up my shoulder.  Some days I miss riding but mostly not.     @KymmieL I hope not being able to get to Spokane for that interview didn’t set you back.   I've been doing outdoor spring clean up now that we have a break in the rain.  The rivers are finally receding.  We had some flooding at the marina, four to eight inches of water covered the road in.  Everything here is tidal so now it just floods at high tide. Hopefully that will be gone by Monday.   I continue to add people to my coming out.  So far so good.   until next time   Willow

I feel ya sister.  everywhere I turned the last few days I felt attacked.  Damn algorithms figured out I'm trans/LGBT and have filled my news feeds with all the negative news.   I know there's positive movement happening for us but it gets so drowned out by the hate.  I had to call in someone to take over for me at work because I spiraled down so bad.    Continuing the other topics of flying and bikes, I gave up my bike a few years back when it just became too painful to ride with my back issues.  I hope someday to go get my single engine license someday.  I miss flying from my Army days. I was a Huey crewchief back then and 99% of the time a passenger but occasionally got some stick time on maintance check out flights by some less than by the books pilots . They're justification was I should know the basics in case they were shot.  Never could hover but I got to the point where I think I could bring her back and land if I had to.

I'm a retired sheet metal worker of 40+ years. A skirt just wouldn't do. What do you do when you have to climb up a ladder?
    • LusciousTheLock
Yep, the news gets you like that. I try not to read anything regarding LGBT+ anymore, as its always negative.
    • LusciousTheLock
This is a great thread. My self doubt came from the fact that I had tried so hard to be a cis male. What a great bloke I was. Bought my first house at 24, married at 25, four children. Worked hard, played hard. Petrol-head and sex addict. We even made adult movies in my 20's!   It was all lies, and I was hiding from the truth. The self doubt was always am I mad? What happens when someone finds out?  later it became am I too old to do something about it?   I can pretty much mirror Jackie C's timeline. Thank god World of Warcraft had bald female orcs!
    • LusciousTheLock
I've also worked crazy hard my whole adult life. A few years back, when I came out to my wife, things were tough and thinking that was the end of our relationship, my wife went back to work after 15yrs (We've got four children). Now things have settled down between us, we've got twice the income coming in and money is not a problem.   Last night I had a callout at 2am for four hours and I sat there in my lorry and questioned. What's the point?  I don't need to do this anymore. I don't need to work my ass off for little reward in a job I hate, working silly hours, phone ringing 24/7, thinking all week about what's happening next week and preparing or worrying about that.   I'm considering giving it all up and doing something I would enjoy. Maybe a Postman / Woman?  I love walking Then have more time for myself, not bringing stress home and yes, cracking on with projects.
    • RhondaS
Got a little depressed last night...long couple days of work, which means these days alone in a room with an occasional phone talk or email about the work, then get on the internet to see what the news is and some Republican was trying to attach a ban of trans people from sports law to the COVID relief package.    Just decades of denial followed by now months of waiting for more progress to get to a point where people will hate me for what I am the more I present as what I need to be. ugh
    • RhondaS
I was worried when I was getting the medical part of the transition started that it was weird that I wasn't having that many doubts, especially compared to the amount of anguish I put myself through to get to that point.    Have found that my results so far have matched Elizabeth's...I feel more connected to the people I've come out to...don't have much interaction with the rest of the world under current conditions.
    • LusciousTheLock
Looking good   I love that look.

We can all have  bad days  as  youre  friend  seemed  to had said  day so i wouldent  take that  to hard   youre friend  was  probaly just blowing  of steem.  As  for   fixing  youre nails  after  dose  2   just make shore   you do use cation still  (the vacinne  does  NOT  give you 100 %   protection same  as   protecting  others   100 %  )      Even after   the vaccination is  done   im afraid  until the majority of the  entire   population is  vaccinated  (minimum 70 + % ) So the  night club  idea   im afraid  i have to agree  with them  its  NOT  a good  idea  (and  most definetly alredy in June )  But  just because they reacted  dont  mean there  mad  or pissed   on you dear  im not.   This situation will NOT be forever  so killing  youre self  just for this is just  stupid  dear. Yes  im afraid  it will be   for  a  long  while  yet  and  we  will have to learn to live  with this  & certain restrictions  etc...   As this  will not  just  go away  its here to stay  BUT  this said  it dont  mean full lock downs   24 /7   and we WILL get back much of  our life  in time  and gradually. The vaccine  is  NOT   a  magick potion thet makes  everything   go back to normal  its  a  valuble  tool to in continuing  to learn to adapt  and  live  our  lifes  as  Post  corona.  Im well aware  that cali have been hit  hard  (i both have  family as well as  friend s  over there  )  but  you cant  give  up on life  Katie  . shore it  wont  be the same as  pre  corona  but  it will be  WAY better  then it is now   it just need time .      And yet you have managed  to get  all of  us  Katie .  Again  its  good that they are  super cautious  as this  is FAR from over my friend & as i said  even after the  vacinne  we  still need to continue  using  caution  for  long  time yet  im afraid    As  long as  you use cation and they are too And  minimum  2 weeks  AFTER  the  2 shot  it shouldent  be a problem Katie.    Thats  sadly what can happen with roommates    I would  be the same  if i had been  abused  like that  Katie  and it breaks  my heart  you seemed  to have been.   It all depends  on how you are  as  a person for  me  with my diagnosis id say 98 %  of my social life  is  online  1 %  phone   &  1 % in reel life  if that. So for me  its  okey  . BUT for  others   i can most definetly agree  its  not easy and  its  not the same  with  online  as reel life
    • LusciousTheLock
Thanks peeps  I suppose its just a wobble on my part. I'm just used to acting so confident all the time in front of people, it gets kind of tiring, and I start to slip and let my anxious side show momentarily. Its been a long week. Onwards and upwards lol
