Hi Jani, it is a full basement. I built this house 21 years ago. The front part is above ground but the shop area and bathroom, 2 storage rooms are under ground. So here's a quick tour of the basement.

I'm jealous. Most of my house is over a nasty 100 yr old crawl space, and the only basement leaks water through walls and floor. I had to put a cinder block under the sump pump in the sump hole to stop it from running all the time. I've had the pump go bad a few times and had a foot of water in basement. When I moved in there was a water stain 2-1/2 foot up the wall. In the 35 years I've lived here I've had three 500 year floods. The last one came 5 feet from my foundation. I had1 sump pump that never shut off, and another one that cycled every 30 seconds. There's a river a half block from my house.

I love your tall ceilings and concrete floors!

Good Morning everybody.

Woke up today to finding a pool of water under the Keurig, so I think the coffee maker died or sprung a leak somewhere internally. So just ordered a new one for pickup for today. Had recurring dreams last night regarding how the name change got passed around our Infrastructure Team because they were preparing to do the change required to my account knew me. It didn’t go bad in the dream, so I don’t call it a nightmare, but it happened multiple times throughout the night. I think the stress of the name change is there for sure.

Hope everyone has a manageable day.

Good morning everyone! The Full Moon is setting, the Sun is rising, Birds are chirping. Worms, Vampires and Zombies are scared. The coffee was early, HOT, black and strong. I'm at the Ford Dealer having the truck serviced.

Good morning

The birds are surprisingly quiet this morning.  Canine alarm went of at 7. To bad she didn’t know I wanted to sleep in. It looks like a beautiful day today, blue sky, sunny the only problem is we need rain.  We started the year way over normal and if we don’t get some now we will officially enter drought status.

im down to three thing to remove from the junk boat.  I was too tired to lift the HVAC out and I need the control cables. They are loose just not out.

I was up at 06:00, rushed my morning routine and at the dealership by 06:30 to be first in line for service today. They have a No Appointment required Policy for Company Trucks, first in first out. The weather is near perfect here in INDY today, the WIFI is strong, and reaches outside the building quite some distance. My hobby projects are coming along on schedule. I got the camper ready this past weekend. I'm waiting for the state BMV to certify my boat trailer build and issue me a VIN, so I can get it licensed. I'm working on a 55 gal. drum to make a wet motor stand of a 1959 Gale Buccaneer 5hp two stroke that I'm going to restore.

Life is good,

Well I did it I talked to my oldest. Not really the outcome I was hoping for but at least we talked. He is still POed about me not telling him right away. That I lied to him for over a year. Looks like the visit next month is off, at least the one going to Bowling Green. Will try and see if we can stop on the way home to see our grandkids.

Right now because of this, my emotions are in turmoil. On the verge of letting the waterworks start. just about cried myself to sleep last night. but luckily was out too quick.

I hope everyone has a good day. Not sure if I will. But I will need to put on my game face at work.

Hugs, to all.

That's nasty!  Our house is about 25 years old.  The original owners had chronic wet basement problems, but did nothing except to install a second sump pump.  The second owners spent $5000 digging up the basement floor and installing a pipe draining into the sump.  So the basement was dry, but the pump ran 20 seconds out of every 30 in wet weather.  We spent another $5000 digging up the back yard and fixing the external drainage tile.  It turned out the drainage pipe had no outlet, so no wonder the basement flooded!  We had our crew add another 30 feet of pipe to bring it out in a gully.  The pump hasn't run in over a year.

No coffee this morning, but I did have a nice dose of Pfizer vaccine.  Second dose will be in August.

Its amazing how contractors will take a shortcut that negates the intention of the work!    Great news on receiving your vaccine dose.

Why so long?

They are rationing vaccines here, since they have been in sort supply since day 1.  To ensure that more people can get one dose, they are waiting longer before giving second doses.

That's great. This old house needs way more work than I have money or energy for. I've already spent $30,000 on it in the last 3 years. Planning on another $20,000 this year. I don't want to, but I promised my wife that I would add a bathroom and hobby room above the flat roof of the original house. We have 7 people living here with 1 and 1/2 baths. We could really use it.

Good Morning.

Today starts my 3-day journey of coming out fully, today I meet with the team that will update my email alias name to reflect Amber. The actual change won’t be until Friday. Looking forward to the change, but also kind of nervous, but I will make it through.

Just had the first cup of coffee from my new coffee maker, why does the first cup taste so good?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all..Lots going on with me this past week. Got OK from my wife to shave off my nasty hair. I am now hair free from chin down. My wife says the mustache has to stay My legs and upper body look and feel so nice now.  Saw my new LBGRQ doctor on Wednesday, She is awseome!! She officially diagnosed me has having Gender Dysphoria. My wife went ballistic with this news. I spent most of the last 2 days crying and just laying in bed. We are talking but I am having doubts that she will ever acknowledge Stefi. Soon I will need to decide if I can put my marriage on the line to be true to my inner self. I will keep all updated as events unfold...

Stefi

Since posting this things have calmed down and my wife is being very nice to me..We are staying clear of talking about my Gender. I see my new LBGTQ therapist tomorrow. I am quite anxious...

Good morning Is anyone out there. I am feeling very alone as I have no one to talk to. Stefi wants out. I do not know how long I can keep myself  bottled up. Every time anything Gender comes up my wife gets angry. I know you all cant help except verbal support, but I am aching to vent.

WEARINESS When stress from adverse or challenging events in life occur continually, you can find yourself in a state of feeling emotionally worn out and drained. This is called emotional exhaustion. For most people, emotional exhaustion tends to build up slowly over time.

I am glad your schools are flush with excess spending money, but that is not the situation here in CA.  Back in 1978 an Initiative and Referendum law was passed that limited property taxes severely and basically cut funding from Property Taxes to pennies of the amounts needed to even minimally fund school districts.  Even the U.S. Supreme Court which upheld the law on Federal and Constitutional grounds nevertheless wryly commented in its decision that the state electorate had lost its collective mind in enacting the law.  Our schools are funded through the State's General Fund which receives other tax sources for creating the entire state budget. The General Fund and the legislature try to give  adequate funding  to the primary and secondary school districts as well as college districts and other obligations all from the same limited funds. There are also strict limits on assessing property taxes that actually prevent them from paying for other services directly affecting property ownership which is their proper place, and so even property related services come from our General Fund. Your property tax money seems to be ear-marked for schools which is wonderful and I hope they use it according to your thoughts, but as said we have a different problem out here in CA.  I love my state but do recognize its short comings.  Point of information, the tax law that is creating problems came from the same small area of the state as the proposed referendum on Trans Youth.

The numbers of those negatively affected are significant and discouraging, but the good news is that "over half" of Trans youth live in safe states, and such states do exist.

Seems like a reasonable agreement.  Seattle stays out of Texas, Texas stays out of Seattle.  Weird that the Seattle hospital had a business license in Texas...

Seems to me the time and cost is already being spent....on lawsuits.  And schools are absolutely flush with cash, at least around here.  They get enough property taxes, they need to learn appropriate use of funds.  Buy a few less computers and a few more bathrooms, and spend less time on athletics and I'd bet you a hamburger that the issue would be solved in a year.   To me, it seems like the whole bathroom thing is like lancing a boil or a cyst.  A sharp initial pain, and done. People are just resistant to doing it.      I think I could solve most of it...but politicians get too much press off of this to want it solved.   1.  Universal use of individual, gender-neutral, private bathrooms 2.  Universal use of individual, gender-neutral, private spaces for changing athletic clothes 3.  Emphasize co-ed rather than gendered sports.  Focus on physical activity, good sportsmanship, and having FUN.  Lifelong enjoyment, not just competition. 4.  Ban for-profit athletic programs at highschool and college levels, and ban betting/gambling related to athletic programs at educational institutions. 5.  Affirm parental rights consistently, rather than treating it like a salad bar.  That means permitting gender-affirming healthcare with parental consent, AND prohibiting schools keeping secrets from parents.  Adopt the "paperwork principle."  If it is on paper, parents 100% have a right to know about it and be informed on paper, including names/pronouns if such are documented.  If it is verbal only, it is informal enough to be overlooked or discussed verbally if needed.
