Good morning everyone,

I've been really busy the last few days. My wife has really started to come around with her acceptance and is at the edge of being openly supportive.  I overheard her referring to me as mama Liz while talking to our dogs. That sounds silly but she is trying to get used to saying the words.

We're having an overdue housewarming/summer party tomorrow. There will be a lot of her old friends there. People she hasn't really seen in several years. A lot of the I've never met. We've kind of met in the middle in regards to my outfit and makeup. She still has issue using new legal name, so I made a compromise that she is OK with since she will most likely dead name in front everyone. My dead name is now officially a nick-name, nothing more.

Good morning

Back to a beautiful day.  Elsa has been a strange storm depending on where you live.

Off to Charleston this afternoon for more shots into my neck. Good news is they do help for my muscle spasms. at least for a while.  The spasms cause everything in the vicinity of my larynx to lock up.  I can’t talk or anything until I get it to relax.  It’s very frustrating.  The only way my wife really knows why I’m not answering her is I point to my throat.

@Elizabeth Star or should I say mama Liz.  That’s great news.  Hope everything goes well with your party.  I’ve come to accept that being dead named is just a fact of life that I can’t stop so why get upset.

we saw my wife’s brother and part of his family yesterday.  I told them last summer and my sister in law went to work on my wife about leaving me.  Anyway no one greeted me initially.  I suppose they didn’t know what to say.  I did get friendly goodbyes when we left.  And admittedly that was the first time they saw me dressed as myself.  I wonder what my sister-in-law will say to my wife today.

her loss not mine

hugs

That sounds amazing!  We may need to see a picture when you pick it up ;) ?

I'm old enough to have briefly had a 72 Bronco (used). I'm a utility truck geek. I've had the old bronco, 3 jeeps and a VW Thing. lol. I really wanted an old Toyota FJ Land Cruiser

@Elizabeth Star That support must make you feel wonderful. It is such a long hard road and very stressful on spouses and I'm nowhere near your acceptance level but I remain hopeful and prayerful.

I don't drink coffee either. I figured I was OK as long as I never admitted it ?

The last 4 words are absolutely true!

If you come for a visit, just point to your throat and I can do all the talking? Will you have to keep getting these shots, or will this improve over time?

Hugs,

Mike

I consider myself beverage-neutral. I know people expect me to want coffee, and I even tried tea, but I'm most comfortable with water. (see what I did there?)

That is so sweet and precious. Dogs are a gift to humankind. It doesn't sound silly at all. I think it's beautiful that the dogs can serve as a conduit to greater acceptance. ?

...did I mention I love dogs?? ?

maybe being genderfluid also makes you beverage-fluid.  ? ? :)

@April-Showers@April-Showers I'm not 100% sure about being fluid. I might just be a tea-drinker that fit a little too good at drinking coffee. (This really works on so many levels) ?

Good morning.☀️ I can legitimately say I'm up before the chickens (4am). I have so much to get done today before our party. The plus side, I got my hair done last night. Not sure how I feel about having bangs, my wife say it makes me look like a girl. I thought that was the idea. :dunno:  Doesn't matter, I love it.

As soon as the sun pops over the horizon i have to start schlepping our outdoor stuff from the garage to the back yard. then out to pick up random stuff we forgot the last time we were out. The clean the deck, arrange the furniture, clean the pool, a quick once-over in the house.  I'll see how the whole event goes.

I think statistically speaking, there should be a couple people who tell me I'm an abomination in the eyes of God. Some who don't have an opinion. There's at least one friend who's child is Enby (the kid might be there too), so that's another plus. I really hope no one secretly fetishizes me. My brother and his wife are overly supportive and have no problem getting in your face if they feel you're talking bad about me or the LGBTQIA+ community in general.

We did discuss name usage. (I don't know if I mentioned it before). I'll be introducing myself with my legal name. If anyone (my wife) uses my dead name, it's nothing more than a nick name. And if anyone asks, I will tell them that I am her wife and the term husband is nothing more than a role in our marriage.

Thing between us are getting a lot better. She is getting comfortable with the idea that she is kind of the guy, in spirit at least. She's a tom-boy at heart but also has no issues having a female body. With the new level of understanding and acceptance I can finally be more myself, more femme around her without any issues.

That took a lot longer to write than I anticipated. Time to let the chickens out and start schlepping.

Have a great day everyone.

P.S. Here's a bad picture of my new hair....

@Elizabeth Star your hair looks great. I hope no one goes out of their way to spread shame. I always expect it, but people tend to have a sense of propriety, especially when they are in someone else's home. Don't slink, don't look down, keep your chin up and keep a Duchenne smile on your face (where your eyes smile with your mouth), because they'll be the ones in doubt when they see they don't affect or create your happiness.

Iridescent, incandescent, luminous, let your wings be out all day.

You've got this. You're amazing from what I've already seen.

Liz, you look great.  I hope your event goes well today.  I am glad that things are looking up between you and your wife.

I am having a tough time today.  I can't stop crying.  One of our two semi-feral cats hasn't returned home for two stormy nights.  So many things could have happened to him, none of them good.  He has often stayed out late at night, but he is usually on the deck in the morning, looking hung over.  Not this time.

I can accept death.  It is sad, but it is a fact of life.  But he leaves behind a mate.  (Both are boys.  We are an all-LGBTQ household.)  The two were devoted to each other.  They would walk down the driveway shoulder-to-shoulder, looking for adventure.  Any time they got separated, you could see their joy at being reunited.  They were a beautiful couple.

Today, I am crying, not so much for the one who is missing, but for the one who remains, wondering where his pal went.  And for me and my wife, who won't get to see this beautiful pair together again.

@KathyLauren I am sorry to read about your cats.  I know how attached we become.  We had a pair of rabbits (brother-sister) years ago. I was so sad when the first one passed, mostly for the remaining one.  I was afraid he would be lonely.   I cried also.  Your boys are beautiful.  I hope he comes home soon and all is well.

Hugs, Jani

i think it was Miley Cyrus who was one of the first to use the term genderfluid. not sure she created the word but i remember seeing her say it. i was around 4-5 years old when Hannah Montana was on tv. Miley was probably mid-teens then. :)

My kitty can be a bit of a pest, but when she doesn't show up for breakfast I get worried.

I hope he turns up.

my thoughts are with you. like you i really feel sad for the one who won't understand why his friend is no longer with him. i often face this working at a rescue shelter for cats. sometimes the grief i feel is almost overwhelming but then i will feel someone rubbing up against me and i remember why i'm here. i never get used to the death but i am grateful for the living and that i'm a part of their lives. thank you. ?

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
