Thanks.  I'll post when I get the results.

I just got my test results: negative.  I don't have covid.  I still feel like crap, but at least it's a better grade of crap.  Probably just a nasty cold.

Good morning

Yesterday we took the dog to a park for a walk.  Got some boat work done and generally enjoyed the day.  Today, I need to go to the hardware store for some screws,  brass to mount my compass and stainless steel to fix some wood.  And while I’m out I’m going to get a Covid test.  We were out of the state, out of the country so I will need one before my follow-up with my surgeon.  No symptoms!

coffee is pretty perfect today.  Beautiful sky both last night and this morning.  That’s one of the few things especially enjoyable about living on our boat right now, the lack of light pollution, the quiet and the wildlife.

Please everyone stay safe, get your shots and enjoy life.  It’s definitely too short.

hugs

I don’t get the anti-vaxxers either

In my past life I would not have taken the shots on "religious" grounds.  It wasn't a ruse.  But I suspect that that is not the case for most antivaxers. (but I'm not going to judge)  Since then, my "spiritual" views have changed significantly.  And as part of the community I see it as doing my part.  I am vaxed and boosted.

I don't wear a mask all the time - it's not real common in this area.  But I do carry one and put it on if requested (posted) by the place where I am.

I don't really go out a lot.  I suppose at my age I am "at risk," but there's only so much you can do.  I was at a family gathering last weekend - some vaxed, and some not I expect.  I know some have had it in the past.

I suppose I'm just so tired if it all.

Lord, what a topic and how did the country get into this mess? I've had all three of my shots, and frankly don't understand why anyone with half a brain won't get vaccinated. I will make an exception for legitimate religious beliefs, such as what some Orthodox Jews and various Christian sects believe, but that's it. Not getting vaccinated seems to me to be the purview of idiots, but, I don't understand how it became a political football. And, franly, I'm not sure I understand mandates for the entire populace. I get it for the military, public health workers, and first responders. That IS a legitimate matter of public health and well within the scope of government oversight.

As a libertarian--NOT a conservative, I just believe in the smaller the government the better--I don't see how we can legislate civic or moral responsibility. Prohibition proved that. And, we didn't need mandates to enforce polio vaccination programs. What gets me is how these anti-vaxxers not only have no argument that makes sense, particularly when the vaccinations are available for free, but refuse to even acknowledge that they are putting the rest of us at risk.

Sometimes I think that a large portion of the population has gone crazy.

I don't recall being asked if I wanted those shots at Ft Bragg.

I look at to each his own on getting vaxed. However, when most of the people hospitalized are not vaccinated. It is common sense. Then again common sense is an outdated concept.

@KathyLauren glad to hear it isn't covid. Colds are the pits but at least it isn't covid. Get well soon.

Being I was off on Sunday I am working today. To bad as our middle sons oldest is having his Xmas program at school this evening. I would love to go. The wife is going, I hope her phone battery holds so she can get some video.

I am down to just having sugar in my coffee this AM. We are out of milk. I don't use the fancy creamer my wife and son do. So I guess I am SOL.

Can't wait till my mani/pedi tomorrow. This girl needs some girl time.

There are plenty of medical reasons for not getting the covid shot. Do a little more research before you judge.

Yep. the military. Straight off the bus and back into line. Shots in both arms, butt, thigh, what were they for?

All I know is what ever they were for, thank goodness I didn't get it!!!!

My wife and I raised our children with vaccinations.

2 years ago my wife got the flu. She had her flu shot. Turned out she got 2 strains of the flu at once.

Her flu shot turned what of could of killed her into a 3 day ordeal, and she was back on her feet.

Medical and butt heads are two different things. I'll be the judge of that.

To clarify my position, I understand that there are ligament reasons for not getting the vaccine, medical like but not limited to allergies, religious based one your religious beliefs.  But so vary many are just being stubborn citing unsubstantiated claims about it being fake or the vaccine containing things so the government can control you.

those are the ones I target with their false ideas that should get a vaccine.  The rest, I may not agree with but I’m not one to judge, jury and executioner.

There's been some kind of non-covid bug making the rounds here, too. Guess it's just that time of year. Hope you feel better soon.

Incidentally, getting the covid vaccines converted me into a being a flu-vaxxer, too. I figured, "Well, if I have no problem getting the covid vaccine, why in the world am I so hesitant about a flu shot?" Maybe that's what the secret microchip was meant to do! 😜

I'm glad You restated your stand on covid shots. I have 3 people living in my house that can't get the shots because of health reasons. my wife almost died just from getting the flu shot. We can thank hereditary autoimune issues for most of it. It was reminding me of how we as Transgender people ar looked at. Judged without full understanding of our situation.

Anyway, I'm done on my vaccine rant. It is ones choice.

Hope all have some sunshine today, it is nice here in the Smokey Mountains today.

I just got some good news this morning. Sorry if this might be TMI, but one thing that had me hesitant to pursue HRT for awhile was fertility (I don't have any kids). I knew full well infertility is always a possibility for anyone, trans or not, so if it turned out not to be in the cards for me, then that's how it is and I'm fine with that. So I gave fertility preservation a try a couple months ago, got the report back of "no motility, couldn't store sample" and figured "well, darn" and moved on. But something about that had been nagging at the back of my mind, various "what if's", and I thought, "even just starting hrt is still a week or two away, there's no reason not to just give it one more try, just to be sure." So I did, and just this morning I got the report back that it's technically viable! Numbers and quality indicators are all low (not surprised), but it's still viable and officially stored away. So I'm feeling really good about that. 😀

Got my flu the first of the month.  May get my covid booster next week.

I hope that any of you think I think everyone should get the shot.  If you have a legitimate medical reason  or religious reason. I  agree don't get one. But to not get it because someone is worried about the pain or discomfort after is just plain  silly.  Wouldn't being hooked to a machine that is breathing for you. Because you can't  is worse.

Good morning. No coffee yet. I was using the ladies room at work yesterday and a coworker walked in, glared at me and stomped out. I finished up and as I walked out I noticed she was waiting outside the door….still glaring! I just stared right in her face as I walked by. Perhaps she didn’t get the memo!

I’ve  another coworker who refuses to wear a mask and is rude and disrespectful toward EVERYONE. They finally removed her from the workroom floor to much jubilation. She’s given me nothing but trouble since I transitioned. I learned to gauge how well my makeup and hair is on a given day by how many eye rolls she gave me as we passed by each other. More eye rolls meant I was doing a great job.

My personal favorite excuse is, "They're injecting a tracking chip!" Bitch, you carry a cell phone. Nobody needs to insert a tracking chip.

My next favorite is that it turns you into one of the Nephilim. By hatching a synthetic parasite inside your body apparently.

Good morning everyone

I have scheduled a Covid test for this morning.  Why?  Because of being out of the country where the vaccine isn’t easy to get.  I’m pretty certain I didn’t get it.  We were pretty cautious but you never know.  And since I have my follow up appointment from my surgery next week, I don’t want anything to prevent that.

I didn’t sleep well last night.  Too warm then too cold. I moved from our bed to our couch.  I also made the mistake of drinking too much water after dinner so that didn’t help.  I was up several times for that.

today will be our last warm day.  A cold front comes through tonight dropping our highs by 20 degrees.  Then it will slowly warm back up.  Eventually it will drop and stay there but that’s the south for you.

I’ve been trying to track down air leaks in my dingy.  I fixed one only to find it leaking near by.  So I made a larger patch and covered a large area.  Success!  Alas, no.  I found two more leaks.  These are all in the inflatable floor.  There is a circle ️ that allows you to get to the keel inflator and so far every leak has been in the original seal between the two sides.  The glue you have to use is expensive and hard to get the right combination of glue and activator.  25 to one ratio.  With a short pot life.

I’ve tried lots of different ideas to seal leaks in my free dingy.  From FlexSeal (I can’t recommend that for anything, to various pvc glues, to the one I am using now.  Good news it works, bad news it’s over $50 for a small kit.  I was given a Zodiac brand that was in bad shape first.  But try as I did, I could fix it.  Then for a 6 pack of Guinness I got a Saturn 330.  It’s bigger than the Zodiac was.  The last owner tried using FlexSeal and made a mess.  So when I find a leak, I have to remove the FlexSeal before I can patch it.  Also the other remain sticky for a long time.  I have no doubt it works in some applications but not to seal a dingy.  And since a dingy could be your life raft you better be sure it’s in good shape.

have a great day, and a great weekend.  Remember, you have to be good!  Santa Claus is coming to town.

@Erica Gabriel sorry you have to deal with these issues at work.  But it sounds like you are handling them well.  I got clocked in Portland by a very rude person and it was really unsettling for me.  First Portland of all places, then her staring to the point of turning around to continue to stare after I was beyond her.  I’ve been clicked before but never like that.

And what did your coworker think was going to happen with you in the ladies restroom?  Some people just don’t get what we are about.

LGBTQ rights Project 2025 takes extreme positions against LGBTQ rights, seeking to eliminate federal protections for queer people and pursue research into conversion therapies in order to encourage gender and sexuality conformity. The policy book also lays out plans to criminalize being transgender and prohibit federal programs from supporting queer people through various policies. The project partnered with anti-LGBTQ groups the Family Policy Alliance, the Center for Family and Human Rights, and the Family Research Council. Project 2025 calls for the next secretary of Health and Human Services to “immediately put an end to the department’s foray into woke transgender activism,” which includes removing terms related to gender and sexual identity from “every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.” The Trump administration proposed a similar idea in 2018 that would have resulted in trans people losing protections under anti-discrimination laws. [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; The New Republic, 2/8/24] Similarly, the policy book calls for HHS to stop all research related to gender identity unless the purpose is conformity to one's sex assigned at birth. The New Republic explains: “That is, research on gender-nonconforming children and teenagers should be funded by the government, but only for the purpose of studying what will make them conform, such as denying them gender-affirming care and instead trying to change their identities through ‘counseling,’ which is a form of conversion therapy.” [The New Republic, 2/8/24] The policy book’s foreword by Kevin Roberts describes “the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children” as “pornography” that “should be outlawed,” adding, “The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned.” Roberts also says that “educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Roberts’ foreword states that “allowing parents or physicians to ‘reassign’ the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end.” Echoing ongoing right-wing attacks on trans athletes, Roberts also claims, “Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; TIME magazine, 5/16/22] Dame Magazine reports that Project 2025 plans to use the Department of Justice to crack down on states that “do not charge LGBTQ people and their allies with crimes under the pretense that they are breaking federal and state laws against exposing minors to pornography.” [Dame Magazine, 8/14/23] Project 2025 also calls for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to repeat “its 2016 decision that CMS could not issue a National Coverage Determination (NCD) regarding ‘gender reassignment surgery’ for Medicare beneficiaries.” The policy book’s HHS chapter continues: “In doing so, CMS should acknowledge the growing body of evidence that such interventions are dangerous and acknowledge that there is insufficient scientific evidence to support such coverage in state plans.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Going further, Project 2025 also demands that the next GOP administration “reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military.” The policy book’s chapter on the Defense Department claims: “Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service, and the use of public monies for transgender surgeries … for servicemembers should be ended.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023]   …summaries of what’s within the rest of the document re: LGBTQ+ concerns. A person can believe their gender is fixed but incongruent with their physiology, but the authors and Trump (by his own words) just see the incongruity of an “expressed gender” that conflicts with what was/is in a person’s pants.

I'm tired of the two-party system.  It has degraded to a system where there are only two diametrically opposed views, neither of which supports me.  I have conservative views regarding big government and government spending but I have very liberal views when it comes to protecting the rights of individuals.  And just elections of the past, I am stuck with two choices, neither of which I support. With only two parties, each with agendas that are off the left and right scales, I am not adequately represented.    Finally, I'm okay with party affiliated politicians running for office using their party views, but once elected to office, they are obligated to support the entire electorate not just the electorate members that voted for them.  Plain and simple, our government system is broken and dysfunctional.  I'll step down from my soapbox now.

I did Ashley.  Non-rev travel was one of the major factors for taking the job.  At the time, US Airways had the best non-rev policy in the industry.  It cost $10 to fly coach and $25 to fly first class.  We flew first class whenever there were seats available.

You should have a moderator fix what you meant to write as "birth certificate".  Ooops.   I've gone over that verse and am wholly and completely dissatisfied with the SBC exegesis of it, so much so that it was one of the things that helped me break out of a mindset of guit.  Sometime I may strut by stuff as a Hebraist and show what it really means.

I found this   — 450 — Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise Goal #1: Protecting Life, Conscience, and Bodily Integrity. The Secretary should pursue a robust agenda to protect the fundamental right to life, protect con- science rights, and uphold bodily integrity rooted in biological realities, not ideology. From the moment of conception, every human being possesses inherent dignity and worth, and our humanity does not depend on our age, stage of development, race, or abilities. The Secretary must ensure that all HHS programs and activities are rooted in a deep respect for innocent human life from day one until natural death: Abortion and euthanasia are not health care. A robust respect for the sacred rights of conscience, both at HHS and among gov- ernments and institutions funded by it, increases choices for patients and program beneficiaries and furthers pluralism and tolerance. The Secretary must protect Americans’ civil rights by ensuring that HHS programs and activities follow the letter and spirit of religious freedom and conscience-protection laws. Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike. The next Secretary must ensure that HHS programs protect children’s minds and bodies and that HHS programs respect parents’ basic right to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their children.   https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-14.pdf   First, that is not much, if that is all that is of concern.  Secondly, I have seen all sorts of anti-Trump slander, including the Steele dossier and the lawfare he is now undergoing, to be cynical of any criticism against him, and indirectly this document.    He deserves some of what he is getting, but not all.  Thirdly, I bolded one statement of concern.   I don't think gender identity is subjective.  "Radical actors" is name calling, and there is a lot of that going around.  Maybe I am not seeing everything of concern or reading this right, but i would discuss with the author of this document concerning this.

Good evening   well I finally finished reading my textbook.  Yeah.  But I still have a lot more to go for the class.     My endocrinologist always asks me about lactation.  And yes I have had some very small amounts of leakage but not on any regular basis.  I figure I blocked the discharge Duce when I pierced my nipples with scare tissue.  But who knows.  I also get asked about mammograms.  I e had my first or baseline and this fall I will need to schedule my second.   As someone in the midst of studying the Old Testament, I can say that I haven’t found any mention of pending damnation for being transgender or intersex.  The closest it comes is a verse that says men should not wear women’s clothing.  Now I don’t know each and everyone’s particulars, but I know I meet the medical definition of female gender, and even in Ohio, a State that until recently refused to allow birth certificates to be changed, I meet the criteria.  Therefore I can only conclude I am not a man wearing women’s clothing.  But there is a somewhat different scholarly explanation of that law that it should not be taken as literally as the haters want.  Mostly men should not pretend to be women to ex ape from their enemies. Or tried to hide from God.     willow

Well, the left wing has been doing that.    I read a few things while trying to find out what the problem is and liked what I read.  But I am a conservative.    Is there something specific in there that is of concern?  Does it promise somewhere to erase trans folk? That would be problematic.
    • Ivy

'Nuff said. Yeah I'm not thrilled with Biden either. There are some conservative ideas I'm good with.  And I do feel that the current Democratic party is too cozy with the bankers and wealthy.  But despite all their talk, when it comes down to it, so are the Republicans.  And it's not the Dems calling for our eradication. Unfortunately, I see this election as existential for trans folks.
