So I went to my first actual job in just over 2 years today. I'm actually retired, but have worked off and on in the past 12 years. This time it's basically to help pay for my bad habits - like getting divorced. Anyway, in spite of the fact that it was the drudgery of this computer instruction module, followed by the multiple choice test, then rinse, dry, repeat, etc., and so on and so forth, the time went by quickly and there was a measure of fun to be had. The fun manifested itself in all the times I got to print Hannah ****, followed by the same in signature form. I only had to sign "that other name" once or twice for legal purposes. The disappointing part was the emergency contact info, as the only adult I can reasonably use is my wife. She can contact anyone who needs to be contacted, and is close enough to be useful. At some point, I should probably tell her that, if she should need to call me there, she has to ask for Hannah, since nobody is likely to know that other name. Given that, I suppose I should tell her my name is Hannah. She currently doesn't really want to know jack about my lady life.

When in the name of Fraya's amber torc will I stop crying!   Sorry all, quick vent!

@Ticket For Epic I know this feeling only too well. Cry if you need to, and if you want you can share your pain here. I wish I could take away the pains, but since I can not, at least let me weep with you my sister.

My wife knows and has seen all of my online accounts. She has also looked at them as part of my venting process and quasi therapy sessions. She doesn't like them, but she knows there isn't anything she can do about them.

Good luck with the new job,

@Tellington

So.... I have heard back from "Marie". She told me that I have a beautiful soul and I just melted. She wants to continue a friendship and that is as much as I could possibly hope for. Funny that I am still crying, but they are happy tears now. I know that I will finally sleep well tonight after so many nights of not sleeping. She will probably never know how much she has changed my life, but that is ok, I just want her to be a part of it.

That's wonderful. I am admittedly somewhat envious, but if I happened into such a situation, it would probably scare the heck out of me. I have too much of a history of just latching on and then screwing it up.

Anyway, you deserve it, and I am truly happy for you.

My wife is the same way. She doesn't really want to know about Kymmie at all. I think that She knows I go on line and talk to my girl friends.

Maybe we should feel sorry for them, because they won't allow themselves to experience the happy versions of ourselves.

@KymmieLNot only do I still say bummer, I occasionally add the prefix "Whoa, dude!" to it.

Hi

@KathyLauren I didn’t think about that answer.  But you are right.  There are times and situations where we must care for ourselves in order to be able to care for others.

@CD Rachel I’m glad you heard back from “Marie”.  I know how upset you were, and how happy you are.

have a great day everyone

Good morning everyone,:coffee:

It's going to be a hot day in the shop. Hair up in a ponytail then up under a welding beanie, so I can wear my face-shield for grinding and then the welding helmet. Bib overalls, long sleeve denim shirt, leather apron, and heavy gloves. I'll stay hydrated, and aware of my physical condition, as I sweat away the pounds. On the days I work hard, I don't workout. Fans will be blowing from all directions.

Best wishes, positive motivation, and safety for all,

Good morning all.  0820hrs and already 60 on the fenceometer. Glad it's going to be a nice day. I need to get some stuff finished on the wagon for our trip tomorrow. We are heading to Lincoln for the weekend. As the 31st is my oldest grandsons birthday. Taking him and my granddaughter to Cars and Coffee Sat at Speedway Motors.

I still don't get my wife. yesterday, we go and look at a house. She is OK with me wearing a ladies Harley t with a padded bra. obviously, showing that I have breasts. Go figure. I guess even women don't understand women.

We put in an offer for this home. Should hear something later today.

Well off to the salt mines in a bit, but first coffee. As always brought to you today by Folgers.

Hugs,

I have family with those fancy set-the-time-grinds-brews, and is ready when you drag your butt out of bed.

But for me, Folgers in my coffee-press works just fine.

Hi, meeting with another lawyer tomorrow.  We’ll see how that goes.  Our daughter is also supposed to be coming here to a campground for the weekend.  We’ll see if she makes any contact with us.

Kymmie, I don’t know what to say.  I’ve been through similar things as well.  I never know what she is thinking.  It’s ok, then it’s not ok.  I hope your sons birthday goes well.  Our sons birthday is the 29th.

Jandi, we are using a very basic coffee maker.  Put water in, put a pod in and press start.  One cup at a time.  And if we are away from the dock I have a percolator.  Old school!  I have used Folgers and Maxwell House. But not instant coffee!

Willow, I will always keep an old fashion stovetop coffee percolator. I have two at home, and one in the camper. I may be without gas or electric, but I’ll never be without a functioning coffee maker.

Me, too! I always have one on hand. And, I gotta say, there's something extra special about percolated coffee made over a campfire...

In a whole 'nother area, I got a new fragrance today. I bought it as a kind of joke, but it smells good--007 for women. Sadly, the guitar riff and Walther PPK are not included...

I forgot to mention. Second day on my new job. Yesterday was all paperwork, today was all over the plant. Introduced to everyone as Hannah, and she this, her that. So awesome. Then I found out that my name badge can't have Hannah on it until I legally change my name. Not what I was initially told.😟 It actually didn't hit me all that hard at first, until I was introduced to a couple of folks in the same job who had their name badges hanging on their shirt pockets. Got kinda triggered.😬

Well had a good feeling today. Our apt is about 50 yrds from the parking lot. It is a PIA. SO today I am walking out to do some work on the wagon. Get her ready for the road trip tomorrow.

I notice that my pony tail is bouncing as I walked. Just like a girls does. I made me feel great.

I am having a difficult time with this hiding. So I think I am going to start pushing my boundaries. This week I came out to a friend at work. He is supportive and told me he is available if I need to talk. I then spoke to my brother and he and his wife now know. They both told me that they still love me and though they do not understand that this is about my happiness and they want me to be happy. I plan on talking to my sister soon. Then the hard part will be talking to my son, he worries me the most but this must be done. Then i will start to look at work. I would like to be full time by the end of this summer.

Done hiding!

You're not missing anything. Years ago I had a Walther PPK 9mm short - the same as 007 had. Terrible ballistics. Even the guy at the gun shop wouldn't buy it off me! 😅

@awkward-yet-sweet Making your own shoes sounds cool. How do you make the moccassins? I've heard of the process of weaving them before using any straw or tree bark you can find, and I've just been interested in the process in general.

I quit cigarettes a long time ago, but I was on tour with my band in Arizona and I bought this lighter at a truck stop.  It was just how I felt at the time, doing my first tour since going full time.  Played country music in Prescott, Mesa, and Tucson, and got nothing but praise and compliments...a great boost to my confidence.

This is a Great Truth. My children's godparents--both born in the north--make this assertion, as do two of my oldest friends, both of whom are very progressive in their politics believe this. They trust the media implicitly. And for the record this is not an attack on progressives, rather it is an observation based on my experience alone. I'm from the south, and Aay time my accent comes out, people assume that I'm an illiterate bumpkin. They get shocked when I tell them I have both an MDiv and a DMin. THen they assume I'm a Bible thumping right wing fanatic; which I'm not.   Stereotypes are all across the spectrum, and they need to go away. People simply need to take folks for waht they are rather than trying to put them into neat little boxes.   Sorry for the rant. THis hits close to home.

A euphoric event:   About a month ago I was taking care of an ER patient. I am openly out at work, but the organization insists that I use my legal name while working. I was finishing up with my patient and left the room. The nurse went back into the room with the discharge instructions and asked the nurse "why do you keep calling her Bill?" That floored me.    A day or two later, I had a patient come into the ER with a laceration. I had taken care of the patient for several weeks with a respiratory illness last year before I was clearly transitioning. The funny part was that after I was done, the nurse went back in the room. The patient asked if the NP who took care of him last November was still at the hospital...Pretty neat!

There are many options for care available. Unfortunately, some areas are like a healthcare desert when it comes to transgender or LGBTQIA+ care, or counseling. Yes, South Carolina is one of those states. Other options include finding a qualified nurse practitioner or a physician assistant. Caring and healthcare is not owned by any one group, and all patients have a right to compassionate competent care. The good news is that there are more programs to teach healthcare providers about transgender and LGBTQIA+ health matters. I see a family nurse practitioner who has an incredible background in family medicine and psych. She readily accepted me as a patient without any question.    You do not have to accept being treated as being subhuman or as a piece of meat. Vote with your feet. There have also been inroads to expanded Telehealth options. The one area that is unfortunately not keeping pace is the ability of non-physician psychiatric counselors to use Telehealth. While covid was more active, the emergency declarations allowed the psychiatric counselors to see patients across state lines. When the declarations ended, the long-distance counseling via Telehealth ended. Interesting, there is an interstate compact allowing psychiatrists and psychologists to operate with equivalence among the compact member states. The licensed psychiatric counselors were not included in that measure. That may change in the future. Finding counseling can be hard. When I first tried to find a counselor, I found a few that were either disinterested, and one who was clearly hostile about the possibility of counseling me.   -Katie

I live in the Florida Panhandle, a fairly redneck, Bible belt area & haven't experienced any major issues living as my true self. While the politicians seem to target us as Hitler did the Jewish population in Europe IMO, the folks I meet & do business with are accepting, or at least tolerant. I do get mis-gendered a lot, but not always. A few neighbors seem to avoid me, but that's their baggage.    One thing I found interesting was a few weeks ago a candidate for school board in a nearby county said doctors who provide transgender care should be hung (I paraphrase) & there was a lot of applause from the crowd. It made me think the prejudice may be there under the surface, but needs a pack mentality situation, or intoxication to come to the surface.   Hugs! Delcina

Happy Sunday Morning   Regarding my post about living in the south.  I don’t know that I got my experiences wrong, but I might not have conveyed them fully.   Politically, I am an outcast.  The politicians refuse to see us as constituents or do anything for us.  At best, they ignore us in SC.  Which I find interesting and preferred to working against us.  Yes the media hypes EVERYTHING up,  Doesn’t matter who they vilify as long as they do.   Since I live on the Grand Strand, we have a very high population of northern transplants.  Retirees.  The workers are locals, commuters because they can’t afford the housing here or immigrants.  But they know who is paying them so they are very nice as well.   The way I see it it’s is the politicians and the media.  Certainly not everyday people at least not near the coast.   Willow
