Good morning everybody and some fresh coffee!

Been away for couple of months living in denial again 😖.

I thought I got rid of dysphoria but the other day I was watching a german detective series tracking missing persons. There was this priest who turned out to be a trans woman and it just hit me in the face. I got rid of my body hair and wore my wig, breast forms, tops, skirts and realized how much I've missed it.

Had an appointment scheduled to a trans care unit last spring which I cancelled and now - if i so decide - must jump thru the hoops all over again.

I know what i should do, only I'm afraid to do it. Hope you all are doing better.

Good evening everyone. Things have started to slow down a smidge for me. Finally got out of our apartment today. Now for the maze of boxes in our new house. Which is not a problem as it is OUR house. The garage is still packed. We just need to start getting stuff put away and sorted or pitched.

Went about 5 days without my patch. Got them on yesterday.

Take care and have a good night everyone.

Hi

today was an interesting day.  I managed three different hospitals.  First I left home and went to MUSC West Ashley.  There I saw my endocrinologist.  Left there and went to MUSC Rutledge Ave to the pharmacy.  MUSC = Medical University of South Carolina.  This is The only hospital in SC trying to create a Transgender care team.  Endocrinologist, Therapist, speech therapy, urologist, and apparently cosmetic surgery/ face femeninization, top surgery and apparently even bottom surgery but I don’t think they will have that anytime soon,

on the way home, I stopped at our boat. Packed some more stuff into my car.  Went back for a second load.  Decided to run the engine a bit.  While doing that, a juvenile wasp came out of the helm and stung me.  Now unless you’ve been on here a long time, you wouldn’t know this, I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO WASP VENOM!!!  I am supposed to immediately inject Epipen then call 911.  Well, I didn’t have an Epipen with me. The only ones I have are past date and they were at home.

So I got in my car to head to the ER as quickly as I could.  As I am driving I realize there is a fire station just ahead.  Stopped and ask if they could take me to the hospital.  Which they did.  Hence hospital number 3.  The EMS gave me a big dose of Benadryl directly into a vein. That started settling things down.  About 90 minutes after getting to the ER my wife and I were on the way back to the boat.  I knew I left the A/C on and wasn’t sure if I’d even shut the engine off.  That I had done.

lunch at 3 home by 5.  The meds are wearing off.

Too gosh darn early to say any more than “morning!”

I woke up 90 minutes ago.  I’ve been trying to get back to sleep but my hand is bothering me a lot and I have a headache, not yet a migraine.  So here I am.  Eating a bowl of my life long favorite cereal, shredded wheat.  I like it best with fruit and I used to add one teaspoon of sugar.  But since I discovered vanilla soy milk,no sugar added.  If you’ve never tried it, you should.  Much better shelf life, and I really like the taste.  But you have to get vanilla.  Mine comes in a bluish ½ gallon carton.

im going to contact my endocrinologist via mychart today to learn more about top surgery.  Just exploratory.

Other than that, not much happens before 5am.  Granite countertops are supposed to be replaced today we are slowly making some headway on the kitchen repairs. 🤞

I’ll let you know if it happens.

@KymmieL glad you are sleeping in your own home finally.  This garage you talk about, is that back at the apartment or separately rented from some one or what?  If you ever said I missed that but at the same time I didn’t understand why you were putting money into a garage if it was part of the apartment.

Hope y’all can get more sleep than I did.

Good morning everyone,

So one of our neighbors reported us for having a "messy yard". He claimed to have offered his help, which is a load of BS. He never once came over and interacted with us. He's a pastor, too...go figure the religious figure is also a liar.

And now my husband is dead-set on cleaning up the yard this afternoon. I'll be stuck at work until 4:00, so I don't know if he's going to start before then or afterwards. My housemates don't know who reported us and we're keeping it that way. They'd both start a fight with the neighbor and we'd (my husband and I) would prefer to keep this civil. Just clean up the yard and all will be good until the next time the neighbor decides to complain, I guess.

Good morning coffee etal drinkers

we had a rough time getting to sleep last night, but slept soundly once we did.  I don’t suppose the batch of brownies I made after 9pm helped.  ☺️

we have some housework to do but mostly are looking forward to a day at the pool.

i noticed that that location of the wasp sting was still quite noticeable.  I tried squeezing it and managed to get some fluid out.  Unfortunately, I apparently broke a sac my body had built around the remaining venom.  I am getting minor symptoms of the venom invading places in my body.  My hand is quite itchy again and I’m having other symptoms.  I guess I should have opened it to the surface and not risked pushing it inside.  I should have known better since I’ve had a lot of first aide/first responders training.  I even used to teach it to others.  Sometimes we just don’t think to follow all of our training.

Its August in the south.  Another day of high humidity and temperatures in the high 80s, low 90s will make it feel like it’s over 100°.

Sweetie is patiently waitin* by the door to go out.  I guess I’d better get a move on.

enjoy your morning get me going beverage.

I quit cigarettes a long time ago, but I was on tour with my band in Arizona and I bought this lighter at a truck stop.  It was just how I felt at the time, doing my first tour since going full time.  Played country music in Prescott, Mesa, and Tucson, and got nothing but praise and compliments...a great boost to my confidence.

One of our local galleries and music venue was defaced by a group called Patriotfront that IIRC is named akin after a Nazi group called Stormfront, and pretty much use the same tactics. The gallery was decorated in tribute to BLM. The group uses stencils with various logos.

It really did not come as a surprise I guess, my State is a fair cross section of the country. Although I have yet to experience violence myself it makes me more aware...

Good morning everyone,

Been getting better about taking my medication ever since I purchased myself a cute little pill tray (comes with it's on bag!). Even my nausea has been better! I'm thinking my flare-up is coming to an end, after two grueling months. I don't trust my bile reflux medication, however. I took it for over a month and was still having stomach issues. So I doubt that's helping...as it's clear that my esophagitis is still running strong (swallowing medication is a bit of a gamble...) We'll see once I'm able to see the specialist in October.

In other news, I've been working on edits for my book. My roommate is dead-set on drawing a cover for it, so I'm taking this opportunity to make necessary changes. Once that's done, I'll start back on the sequel. Wish me luck!

Good morning

im taking a break from morning housework. Sitting on the porch, listening to the gentle rain. I think the water aerobics class finally gave up.  Oops, I’m wrong I just couldn’t see them. I suppose if you are wet what difference does some rain make.  Oh there they go.  It just needed to come down harder.

Walked the dog, cleaned the shower, sorted laundry.  Things are getting a little bit better every day.

we did some shopping yesterday.  Mostly just needed a day out of the house.  That sounds odd considering all the time we were gone last week.  Anyway, my wife showed me a very pretty blouse, somewhat poncho style.  I made the comment we’d be fighting over it.  She said no I picked it out for you.  Anyway, we both tried it on and both liked it so we will be sharing it like I thought.  We went to another store where I bought some jammies.  Pink top with flamencos on the bottoms.  Actually my first obviously feminine ones and no complaints.  So, yes things are getting better, much better!

Well I think I need to start another chore.  Have a great day everyone

Hi, Everyone. finally on my last of 5 Wednesdays. So today I texted my wife and asked what was wrong. What did I do?

Basically in a nut shell. I should have shirked the responsibility of having a job and unpacked crap at home. Because she and our youngest called out last week. I should have done the same. Once I got home just jumped in and helped, I was just terrible to sit and relax instead.

Then I told my wife we are taking a side trip on the way home from visiting our oldest next month. That after 7 yrs I am getting my sheltie. She went off about we don't need another dog. Etc. Etc. When she said years ago, when I mentioned that I wanted another one. She said, that we can get our sheltie once we move out of the apt. That has been done. She then accuses me of not changing since 1988. That when we had to get rid of our collie. when we move on base we will get another one. I didn't want to start a huge argument that we didn't move on base till 1990. The collie the trailer park made us get ride of was not Bandit.(He was the collie I had when I was a teen.)It was shadow. And she wanted the dog as bad as I did.

Other that that my life has been miserable, work is the same. I get screwed with the closing shift. Today when I showed the boss the connection cords that I took out of a delivery truck. All I got was Oh, thanks. When it is against company policy to used personal devices in company vehicles. I have put in for another position for dealer parts here in town. There was another one that has an opening. that is less than 1/2 mile from my house. But I found out the parts Dept and service manager I worked for him for a month and he is an a$$hat.

I hope that everyone has been having a better time than I have. So I wait for the hordes of locust, or The super volcano i Yellowstone to erupt. That would just clinch it.

Hugs,

Kymmie

Sometimes I can. As to whether or not it helps me to prepare, it's a sometimes thing. Not as tough as when it's a lightning strike when the skies look clear. Hard to take, and harder to pull myself out of.

Yes, if you think you might be trans and take an online test that says you're not trans and your reaction is to be upset you 'failed' the test then you're trans.

My shift toward my boy self has been mostly natural, although now I'm using T for some small changes.  I've been more or less androgynous for years.  I avoided girl clothes, slowly changed my hair from long-ish to an androgynous pixie cut.  A bit of muscle tone added to being naturally slim and curve-less works to my advantage.   I was passing as a boy long before a doctor took a look at me and gave me a prescription.  Since I'm starting with a female body, I'll probably look a bit young-ish for a long time.  Just see what you can do with what you have, and I think you'll be surprised at the progress.  And you have a supportive partner, which is awesome!
    • Davie
Thanks, @JJ Orange Polish it, if you must, but it's a gem of a story already. And it's part of who you really are, so it's even more valuable than just a story. cheers, Davie

@Russ FenrissonThank you so much for your kind words. More treatment tomorrow and I will also be getting a machine to help me medically. If it works then I look forward to seeing the changes. Things have to get worse to get better sometimes, it feels that the worst is winning, but as I keep telling myself the hope and optimism will win in the end. I just need the webb space telescope to be able to see that far at the moment.   I wish you well with your transition as well and the changes the body can make are amazing. HRT is a dream, and I start with a therapist in a couple of weeks, at last. Even if they will focus on the medical challenges, I will do my best to subvert it to my gender challenges as well.   Love, hope and optimism to all. For those who saw the Commonwealth games I was so pleased to see the LGBTQ+ presence and flag so prominent.

I wish this on every state of the USA. And on every state in the universe (Neptune excepted).   Advocates Praise Massachusetts Protection for Abortion, Gender-Affirming Care.  Access to abortion and to gender-affirming care are now rights secured by the constitution and laws of the Commonwealth.   https://www.glad.org/post/advocates-praise-ma-protection-for-abortion-gender-affirming-care/

I was never able to envision myself that way.  But I watched those kinds of shows and I always had the thought in the back of my mind that the "wife" in those situations could never be me.  As much as I wanted to fit in the role I was expected to take on, even from an early age I knew it wasn't going to turn out like that.  Other girls would envision their future wedding (even in elementary school), and I could never really participate in those conversations.  It just felt alien.  I explained it away in those early years by just saying I wasn't going to get married and my sister and I were going to live together as best friends forever.  Interestingly, that last part has happened 😄 We still live under the same roof, and probably will for the rest of our lives.

For someone who's “out”, I'm really not out very much. I work at home and rarely have face-to-face interaction with people. But this week has been different.   As part of my vow to live my authentic life from now on, yesterday I told the person who has just started cutting my hair that I'm transgender and no longer want to have anything close to a male style. She was totally understanding and, though my hair needs to grow out some more, we're now on the way to a presentation that's clearly feminine.   Today, I had a routine appointment at the local VA medical clinic. I went in full female mode, quite anxious to see the Physician's Assistant I've met with before. She has a transgender child, so we get along very well. The nurse is cool to talk with as well. VA medical facilities are very LGBT-friendly, so I'm never hesitant to be myself there. The PA loves to chat, and because her next appointment had canceled, I was there with her for over an hour. She has a wealth of knowledge, and much of our conversation was a deep dive into the meaning of my test results, the pros and cons of various medications and treatments, etc.   Getting out of my comfort zone and spending so much time with others has done me a lot of good. I haven't experienced that since I worked volunteer office jobs in female mode a few years ago. It's much different from going to the grocery store and only having a few words with the cashier at checkout. If I attracted any unusual attention being so visible in those environments, I'm not aware of it.

I was young. I was a little kid. I had my hair in a braid and I sat in front of the tube tv, watching an action movie from the 90s. Drinking a Capri Sun, and setting my dolls next to me so they could watch the movie, too. The muscular hero stopped the bad guys and saved the woman and her son on the screen. My father told me, “Wouldn’t it be nice to be saved by the hero?” I answered with a yes, but in my mind, I said “No. I want to be that man. A strong man with muscles who is able to intimidate villains and save the world. I want to be the strongest man alive”.   (Sorry if it is a written weirdly. I wrote mostly off the top of my head.)

Greetings, Helen, and welcome to the forums. There's a lot of kind and awesome people around and I'm sure you'll find a few you can click with. Just know, as you're learning about yourself, it might take time and it won't happen over night. It generally takes time and when you figure out what works for you, it is generally very rewarding.
