Ouch... Hannah, what if you petition the State to review your situation? You could barrow from @Maddeeand her Blog: "I'm my own ex husband" and see if they could give you some relief on how much you pay the other two exes. Truthfully, if the money is for Child Support of a dependent, you don't really feel bad about that money. If it's for Alimony, and the children are grown, fully self supporting themselves. Then that's a real bummer.

A few days ago, I met another person who hates both the smell and taste of coffee.  I'm not alone, yeah!

Me too. Several years ago, and I don't recall where I read this, I learned that between all forms of taxation--direct, indirect, hidden, etc--56% of our income goes to taxes. If true, that's just obscene.

Yep, its true, and probably worse.  Because remember... everything you pay to others goes to pay their taxes too.  My GF charges higher for her rent houses because she's taxed so heavily as a landlord.  Everything at the store is higher because you're paying for the business' overhead costs.

Hi, I had an interesting conversation with my therapist today.  He always starts out with how I’ve been what’s been happening and so on.

We got on the topic of if I’m treating myself adequately, meaning am I doing for myself enough to meet my needs as a transgender woman.that brought out a couple of issues and ended discussing if I had an exit plan.  I actually do have an exit plan should it ever come to that.  I know I can live relatively comfortably with less than my wife ever could.  So she is a bit more locked into staying together.  I have no intention of using that knowledge to force my way into things.  After all we’ve been through and we still love each other, it’s just if I get forced into a situation that is detrimental to my well being, I know how I will make my move away.

Just like my daughter in law she is the same way about coffee. Made her sick to her stomach when she was pregnant with our youngest grandson. Yet, my son loved coffee.

Good morning I hope.  Bad night!

Yes I am up pretty early for me.  First cup is in hand, literally.

today is shopping day.  We are out of a number of things, and of course nothing is inexpensive these days.  Not even a gallon of milk or a carton of eggs.

If you follow my posts here you know that I have to get injections in my throat every three months.  Well Somebody in billing REALLY messed up in September.  I got billed for everything normal, plus I got billed for ten thousand units of Botox.  10,000!  I think that would likely kill me.  I get injected with five units on each side!  I mean talk about ridiculous!  Plus the sent me a final notice on the invoice when they hadn’t even added it to my bill yet.  Yikes.

Our temperature is dropping and rain is on the way, but that’s nothing compared to California.  I know people live there because they love it, but you couldn’t get me to lice there no way.  The almost annual natural disasters keep me home and happy on the east coast.  Yes, we have hurricanes but choose where you live and you’ll be ok.  We have forest fires, but we also have swamps that keep them confined.  And believe it or not, we even have earthquakes.  We have averaged more than on per month since last fall.  But unless you live right next to the epicenter you probably won’t know it happened.  Too deep and small.

Anyway I do have friends that are right in the middle of all the flooding and I pray they will be safe.

I also pray that all of us here may be safe and that the violence happening against us is over.

hugs and prayers that we all stay safe.

@awkward-yet-sweet, well said and too true. Consider something as simple as a loaf of bread and how many times it's taxed BEFORE it gets to the consumer: The wheat farmer (1); the dairy farmer (2); the railroad that delivers the bulk ingredients (3); the various truckers that do local transport, deliveries, etc. (at least 3 of them for 4,5,6); the grain elevator (7, even if a local co-op); the bakery (8); the supermarket (9) and then local sales taxes (10). AND this doesn't include business licenses, state taxes as well as federal, and so on. Each of these are passed to the consumer. It all adds up.

Ah… Death & Taxes.

I don't think anyone likes them.  Your income is taxed, and then taxed when you spend it.

I suppose I'm okay with it to a point.  I mean I use the roads and other things.  I retired from the city here and we did provide essential services.

I understand the "this is my money and they have no right to take it" way of thinking   But we are all part of this collective society, even if they do treat us like crap.

It does bother me to see it wasted or stolen though.

Today I'm going to my VA support group - paid for by our taxes.

I get complaints at least once a day at work. Don't blame me, I just work here.

29 with white crap falling. Didn't I say I was done with snow, Mother nature is a deaf bwitch. LOL.

The boss at work is in Dallas for the companies annual meeting. The companies rent several hotels in Dallas and fill them with store managers and up. Meetings and awards etc. basically, just a reason to get drunk at the companies expense. I just wonder what would happen if I ever by some small miracle I ever get my own store.  I would be so abandoned it wouldn't be funny. Being Trans and a non drinker. I often wondered being that they put 2 to a room. What would they do with me. put me with a female or a male, or in a tent in the hotel parking lot. Never happen so why worry.

Anyway going to the dentist to get evaluated for my fractured root and possibly getting an implant. We will see what happens.

Hugs to all.

When I picked up my mail today, there was a summons for Federal Jury Duty. It   addressed to my dead name, so I called the number provided and the person I spoke to wasn't very helpful. I was told to go to the court's website and follow the instructions. One off the requirements was to go online and fill out a questionnaire. The questionnaire had very little to do with my fitness (or lack thereof) to be a juror. It asked for a lot of personal information though. One of the questions was about my gender. I was given two options--male or female; not even prefer not to say. Also, there was no provision to correct my name.  It's not only a sterling example of our tax dollars at work, but it's going to prove interesting when Marcie shows up and not the person I was...

Heh heh.   I carry a copy of my name change court order in my purse.

When I got my Drivers license changed, they changed it with the elections board.   When I got the card it was spelled wrong.  I had to go over there to get it fixed.

I made a subtle change to the spelling of my last name.  (to be more reflective of its origin)  When I went to the VA to change it there, they called me on the phone to tell me there was a misspelling on the DL. In my case people want to default to the more common anglicized spelling.

Now I get mail for 3 different people: my dead name; "Jandi" (which the sheriff and FBI call an alias) and now, Ivy.  Sometimes from the same people.

I'm off to the docs tomorrow. I've got hematuria, or blood in urine. It could be bad but most likely not serious. I've got a great urologist, that's a plus. Wait and see and pray, and show up to see an expert—I'll let you know.

@Marcie Jensen As one who has recently benefited from the service of a jury, thanks for doing your part if you get selected.  I know that's not something most folks look forward too.

I can only imagine how frustrating the name issue could be if the government keeps getting it wrong.  But it is becoming more common lately, so they probably won't be surprised.  Here's hoping they deal with it appropriately and with respect.

As for me...its frustrating today just getting my body to do what it is supposed to.  I got my verdict on Monday and I'm supposed to be recovered, but I managed to trip and fall on my own shadow in the kitchen.  TBI is weird stuff...some days I feel like I'll be clumsy forever.  😢

@Marcie Jensen I got assigned to county jury duty twice the first time I had to go to the courthouse 3 out of 4 weeks, never left the muster room.

I was called to federal jury duty twice as well.  First time I had to go to the federal district court in Alexandria.  Good news we had a secure jury parking lot.  One time there we were supposed to be available for selection for a drug case.  The defendant didn’t show.  Another time it was for a pretty big case that was expected to take a long time.  Fortunately they seated a jury just before my group was to go into the courtroom.

Second time I was excused because I was over age by the time my year would have started.

Jury duty is an important responsibility and while I was hoping not to be selected, I was also disappointed I was never assigned to a court room as a prospective junior.

Good morning all! Plenty of coffee (I mat take it interveinously today) a nice starry sky ro wake up to and a day for relaxation. Mostly.

@Willowand @awkward-yet-sweetI think I need to elaborate a bit about the jury duty questionnaire. This is my third summons in as many years, The first was State Jury Duty, the second was County and this one was Federal. I was called on to serve both times, and I intend to serve on this one if needed. What struck me about this time was the questionnaire. Both the state of AZ and Maricopa County got the name right and had, shall we say, more enlightened choices for gender as well as being less intrusive personally. I found it interesting that the solidly red state of AZ was more inclusive than the more...enlightened...kinder, gentler federal Department of Justice was. (Side note of irony here. And yes, I know my sense of humor is warped.)

And, @Ivy, carrying a copy of one's name change court order in one's purse is a great practice. I'm going to start.

Hugs,

Marcie

I've been called a few times.  Once for the Grand Jury, which meets once a month for a year.  The few times I was actually selected for a trial, the lawyers got rid of me in a hurry.  Sometimes being a little strange has its perks.

Good morning

I haven’t been to the “Y” since Covid but today we are going to chair yoga.  An easy break in to getting back to it. We used to do full standing laying yoga and yopi.

@Marcie Jensen I would gladly have served on a jury, but they called potential jurors out of the pool room and when enough had been seated, the rest were released.  I imagine every court or state has a different method of selection.

these days this couldn’t be more important -

@Ivy I think on thing that turned off lawyers towards me was the amount of law courses I had taken in college.  Neither side wants a junior that can tell when they are trying to mess with the jury over some point that isn’t technically correct.

Good morning Coffee drinkers,:coffee: and those who don't.

My wife loves to be selected for Jury Duty, because it's real life drama.

I on the other hand have only received one call to jury duty, and since I was the sole proprietor of my small business they relived me of my duty. Now that I'm semiretired, I would gladly serve.

Speaking of the sole proprietor issues, and anxieties... I'm two thirds of the way through a major product build and delivery. My biggest prop is an IMO-101 sea container, and two suppliers have back ordered major components that have to be set first before the rest of the build can start. Yesterday my fabricator said he received parts, and wanted me to go through them so he knew where to start. This morning when I called the shipper for back order updates, I miss entered the phone number by one digit, and my dyslexia didn't catch that until I was extremely frustrated at getting the wrong company on the phone. I came in from the shop for a fresh cup of coffee, and explain my frustrations to my wife. She asked to see my phone and e-mail contact print out. She quickly saw the miss dial issue.  I entered the corrected number the sales person promptly answered.  They did have an update, however it wasn't good news.

The parts are not expected to ship until February now.

Pictured is the IMO-101 sea container that I build.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I have been called to serve on a jury once. that was when I was in the service. It was for Michigan and I lived in SD at the time.

Several times I have been put on a pool to be called for potential juror. It was for our county. This year I am on the pool for federal court in Cheyenne.

My tooth extraction went good. except for the pain when the novacain wore off. I was in pain most of yesterday. JUst a dull ache today. Now I have to wait 3 months till I get my implant.

Hi

we went to chair yoga today.  That went well, in fact we are going again tomorrow.  I am going to Aqua fit followed by a senior stretch and fit.  If I survive then we will continue going more regularly.  My wife is only doing the senior stretch and fit.  She doesn’t like pool work.  Unless it’s a warm pool which this isn’t.

Tiffany i remember feeling much the same.  I only allowed myself to go out as myself when i was far away from my neighborhood.  Perhaps that was good way to gain confidence but ti was difficult at best.  When i did go to local gay bars it seemed quite safe.  after all if someone knew me there....... why were they there?  I kinda figured it was a mutual silence thing. I'm glad you have your wife there with you.  Being with another woman makes it much easier.  Most of all try to enjoy yourself!  It was an amazing, if at times scary, journey for me.   Hugs,   Charlize

I appreciate the warm welcome and the hug I really needed it. I am glad that you are now much happier and that gives me hope. It feels good to not be alone anymore I was alone in this for decades. I am really thankful. I actually would prefer Alessia:)     Thank you

Welcome dear.  would you prefer Catpaws or Alessia?  I remember when i first came here i was using a different name but in time i was named Charlize by my wife.  Like you i wondered if i could ever live as myself.  I had gender therapy and as i saw how this had always been me, hidden because of fear and shame, i saw that perhaps could grow to accept myself not what i was told i should be.  The folks here helped.   Like you i had drunk a great deal and came close to killing myself in the depths of alcohol use.  Fortunately i went to AA and there i found the support and understanding that further helped to allow me to live as myself.  I was 63 when i went full time.  The last years have been perhaps the best in my life. You are certainly not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

First thing my english is propably not very accurate so if you are confused what I wrote please let me know I try then to clarify my intentions.   I am from germany, born as a male and 36 years old now,   living a life of supression of my feelings and depressions since at least 2 decades. I always thought somehow I can fix it and live happy but no matter what therapy I choose or meds I took it did not help. I just refused to accept that my inner voice had something to say for years. The first time I remembering a deep wish of being a woman was in my teens but I always thought if I grow older I would be happy but I didnt. And so time passed on trying to eleminate every gesture or posture of any kind that looked feminine in the puplic, trying to be more masculine as I really was. In private I would sit like a girl lie in bed like a girl. And at one time a girlfriend of mine even said I dont like that you lie there like a girl. I was shocked since I thought I dont do it anymore or hid it very well. I would think of me that I won´t look necessarily very feminine with my clothing style I tend to just wear black and very big size to just cover all so I feel more comfortable with myself. I even have short hair at the moment and a beard but if I look in the mirror am I happy? Not really.   Someday I discovered that I somehow envy my sisters for being female but as always I just put it away drunk a lot of alcohol. At the age of 18 my dad actually comitted suicide too what I also tried to surpress and worked and partied a couple of years very hard till I had a collapse and knew I have to do therapy again. Again the therapies didnt help me and I just thought to me its normal some people are like this they can never be happy its just my brain not meant for me. Dozens of attempts to get me in a happier state failed even if sometimes I could be happy and even felt good in my body but that never was long. Since like 4 years or so I created an alter ego of myself Alessia and I really loved it and ironically after a bit time I had a moment with my mom watching a tv show with some emotional scene and I actually could cry. A thing I surpressed for nearly 20 years. The last time I really cried was after the news that my father committed suicide. Back to my father it was not all good I hated him in my teens for how he treated me he even slapped me with a belt if I did something against his rules, but shortly before he did kill himself I already forgave him and said daddy for the first time since a long period I haven´t called him other than -censored-.   So back to my alter ego she was giving me hope back. I could interact as women with other people and it felt amazing I could be how I felt Iam really am how I think I am. It is hard to describe. Of course I followed some trans stories and even talked about it with one of my best friends a couple of years ago and in between till today, but I never actually told him the truth about how I feel. I just did pretend I am an normal cis ally and like them, again I surpressed it. I dont know exactly why, because of fear anxiety or am I even allowed to be happy?   This Year I was by an alternative therapiest and she accidently cleared my vision. Yes she admitted i had female traits in my face my tone but mostly my personality but she brush it off as just not sterotyped male and I was happy to go with it at first, but after another couple of session I stopped lying to myself and admitted this was not the whole truth.   Now today I am obviously in a good mood or otherwise I wouldnt tell you about myself and I think I have been brave for finally coming out even if I am still considering just to endure it till my death. Maybe I can find a way to be happy propably not with alcohol anymore this demon is under control fortunately but I dont know I hope you can understand me a little bit.   Thats all about me at first, I am glad I got here and have the chance to talk to you in a secure and safe place.

Good evening   We lost a teen from our teen group over the weekend.  Right now they are calling it an unintentional overdose.     Regardless of if it was accidental or not, it is always sad to lose a child.  I pray the family will remember him for the life he lived.  It has become so terribly difficult for our transgender children. I know many who have lost their medical care.  So many doctors who treated transgender teens are being forced to stop providing care.  And I am aware of teens who don’t want to be forced to go through puberty as someone they know they aren’t.  please, do something to try to stop the few that are forcing doctors and parents to stop helping our kids.  We’ve been through this we know how difficult it is.   Willow

Hey everyone, I am new here but wanna ask this question that's been on my mind alot lately and do want to know an answer.   So I've been wondering lately if i am transgender being that I remember at an early age (before 10) I wished I would wakeup the next day and become a girl. Since the news on Caitlyn a few years ago I have always had the thoughts popup every so often as like "Am I trans?" It might be defined as a fleeting thought cause I usually do deny the question saying "I'm a guy.." But the question always have came back either weeks or months or maybe even a year or two later. It's just annoying when it comes cause I do wanna know really.  I've been thinking about it more since a friend told me to explore why I have had the questions and have had memories of my past popup like again the thoughts of early age wanting something else, the thoughts of wishing I was a girl in high school, and the fact I usually only play as a girl in games due to them looking better than the guy option and just feels right to me. I can say that when it comes to my body that I would like changes like I have always been grossed out but not to uncomfortable with my body hair i just feel like it looks gross to the point it makes me look dirty and I prefer being smooth which makes me wish I never had the body hair in the first place. I have big muscular arms and muscular looking legs but don't feel really offended by them like not uncomfortable to much but do wish they weren't so big? I wish my arms and legs were more feminine and because of this I never wear short pants ever. As soon as I became a teen years ago I remember I stopped being comfortable with wearing shorts or even wanting to take my shirt off unless behind a closed door.. Just feels wrong to do that otherwise even if its in front of a parent or sibling. Not to mention that I feel awkward about how a certain body part functions at random.. It just feels gross.. Wrong.. and have wanted it to just stop.. or disappear.. I have a deep voice of course but I don't mind it, But at the same time.. If I do record my voice and play it back I just feel like it makes me sound sick.. I wouldn't mind having a higher more girly voice.. I've been treated by family and friends like I'm not supposed to be sensitive or emotional or even the fact I can't really lift..  I just feel like I am supposed to be an emotional person and be very sensitive as well as the type that shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting ever.. Its okay but does make me feel bad when I can't do it..   Does this sound very cisgender to you guys or am I more likely Transgender?   I can say I would press the magic button to become a woman if it existed without any doubts in my mind about this. I have as well read about the affects that HRT Estrogen does to the body and I kinda want those..    I have told friends as well to call me 'girl' and 'she/her' to see if my feelings mean anything but I think i am overthinking it or just not used to it because when it happens I don't feel like they are talking about me or wanting to get my attention. It does leave a off feeling in my stomach when it happens but I have been called 'like a sister' and 'princess' by some and that made me burst out with a smile..   I have been worried to that this might be part of my Autism and might just be an obsession of mine (part of OCD) happening as well.. but these thoughts doesn't bug me to much. Only want to know if i am trans or not because.. I mean if i am a transgender woman or even a non-binary person who falls like not entirely male or female I can live with myself.. Other than that I can't tell you what it means to be a man really.. I feel comfortable with it most of the time.. But like other than certain 'characteristics' no I can't tell you what it means to be a man to me.. If i had to rate my feeling I could say not 100% male at all.. Has to be more closer to 60% or so.

Ladies I am not sure if this is the place for this but it seems to fit.  Kathy and Ashley your words hit home in so many ways.     my question is, how do you know when it is time to step out into public as your true self?  My wife and I have talked about going to a known LGBT bar, but we both share a fear of running into some one who would know me.  This could possibly destroy a 30 year plus career, or not. Money is it would.    Any advice?

I think males can care about having things they want to conceal now these days.    My experience at makeup stores has all come after I started transitioning, but even when there were hardly any changes happening yet it was clear that you don't need to explain anything to anyone except what you want to do with their products so they can help you buy their stuff.    I'm sure there are a bazillion youtubes on makeup that will show you what to do with concealer, almost all of them better at instructions than me.
