I do feel a bit depressed about the truck damage.  Watching the weather was part of my responsibility as navigator/electronics operator.  I know that usually June isn't a time for such bad weather that far south, but if I had done my job instead of assuming it was just rain, we might have avoided all of this.   20/20 hindsight is kind of discouraging.

The weather is hard to predict at the best of times, so I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Like I say, just glad you are both safe.

Good morning, everyone! My brain kicked into high gear early this morning so I rolled over to grab my iPad and check out the news, hoping I'd fall back asleep. Unfortunately, my iPad was on 1% power...and shut down...so I opted to get up rather than stay there knowing I'd never go back to sleep. So, I'm heading to the pot to get another cup of coffee......

Working on my second cup now and looking forward to another day. Small projects, reading...hoping the weather will warm up soon so I can get back to using our pool and working on my tan.

Be safe and remember to look for the goodness in this beautiful day we've been given.

Good morning

Another great day ahead of me. My Verseo electrolysis device arrived yesterday and I tried it out this morning. I detest shaving, so hopefully this works.

I tried the laser devices for several months, but it apparently doesn't work on red hair.

I'll go to the center and get therapy and exercise today.

Y'all have a great day!

Weather can fool you too. We had taken the bike down to the Hawgs and Hot rods in Loveland, CO. Perfect weather on the way down. What I thought was verga, rain but not hitting the ground, It wound up being pea sized hail. We were going along OK until the bike slipped out from under us. So we waited out for about an hour. When we finally took off we found that after about 1/4 mile farther north. it was completely clear.

Here in the summer, I've seen it rain on one side of the road, and not on the other.

Good morning.

I got called at 8am yesterday could I please come to work asap.  I was still in bed.  I managed to get there in 20 minutes. Quick shower, dressed basic makeup and out the door.  I’m off today.  But have to be there at 4am tomorrow and I won’t get home until after 10pm.  It’s teen support group night.

@Ashley0616 I have no clue what my father would think, but I expect it wouldn’t be good.  He was very old fashion in many ways.  My mother might have been more accepting but I’ll never really know.  Both are gone, so is my only sister.  I’d like to be able to talk to them even if it was to know that they can’t accept me as I am.  I actually think I could get my father to understand the science that explains us, but who knows.

My parents were long gone when I came out, as well as my brother and one of my sisters.  The one sister still living (at the time) was supportive.

I seriously doubt that my parents would have approved.  During the Vietnam war my mother said that protesters should be sent to concentration camps.  As it was I was the black sheep of the family.

My father would have never accepted me. He was bigoted towards my wife. Because of her tattoo. (left leg hip to her toes) He had passed before I came out. Not sure about my mom. She is more of live and let live kind of person. I do think she at least suspects, because of my clothes I wore when I was down earlier this year.

Not sure about my sister. She is 4 yrs older than me. We have never been close. So don't know. Maybe we would have been closer if I was her little sister. Then again she was the privileged one of the two of us.

Then there are my 3 boys. If it wasn't for his wife I think my oldest would at least partially accept me. Our Middle son totally accepts me. then our youngest. He at first was un-accepting  then seemed to finally come around to accept me.

Finally my wife. I do think she is partially accepting to a point. She has been off then after some counseling she was somewhat accepting. Then one day she can't handle it. I think she is just OK with it if I don't flaunt it in her face. So, unfortunately no girls shopping days with her. Yet, she buys me feminine clothes. So who knows.

Well time to take the wagon for a spin. I hope I have all the leaks fixed.

Sorry about that. I do consider myself lucky to have at least have some support it would just be better if he could accept me for who I truly am. Maybe needs more time. I know for a fact that he won't ever use my right name. Oh well one can dream.

Well BIG NEWS! My wife and I are going to work things out! She had to leave to clear her head and we had a nice conversation between the two of us. I’m so excited. We have so much history. I broke things up with the girl I was talking to and will be completely dedicated back to the marriage. I’m so glad she can get past the real me and accept me.

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".
