Reaching my target weight

RithiaAllen

Recommended Posts

Don’t feel bad Amy. I haven’t had as much time for exercise with work and my weight loss has been suffering too. I lost .9 pounds in the last week but at least the weight for us is going in the right direction.

It sounds like your food intake is right where it needs to be.

I will have more time to hit the treadmill and the weather is looking warmer so I can squeeze in walks easier by simply stepping outside for a walk again which is great.

I weighed in today at 187.8 pounds. I have roughly 42.8 pounds to go to reach my goal.

Thanks Rithia.  My first attempt at making a meal from the diabetic cookbook came out very good.  At 326 calories, 26g protine, 2g carbs, 2g fat, and I had 1x average cereal bowl of the Hearty Beef stew.  I followed along with the ingredients and used fresh veggies in the stew.

My legs and abs are still sore from day one.  But I know that it is working if I feel sore.  Today is supposed to be hard core chest workout day according to the plan on the RIPT90.  I am not looking forward to that but I want to keep it up to lose the weight.  I am taking Kristen's advise and not using the heavy weights cause I do not want to build muscle but want to lose fat.  So I am using the light weight ones.  But the big thing is getting my heart rate up, working up a sweat so I can get my metabolism up to burn this fat off.

Oh yes absolutely use lighter weights and more reps for toning and not heavy weights and less reps.

“Roughly” 42.8 pounds huh!? ?. Love you. ❤️?

LOL ? I guess that kind of sounded like a estimate from Spock ? but I meant I don’t know exactly if it will be 145 as my target weight. I figure +-5 pounds and see where I am at.

Day 2 on workout routine with RIPT90. The hard core chest was not that bad. Had an awesome workout. This one was alot slower but more reps.  6 reps of 10 each.
Push-ups
V-sits
Russian Twist
Blureeps
chest flys

Since I dont have any weights.  I made my own light weight weights with 2x pieces of PVC pipe and a good size bolt inside and closed the ends up so the bolt does not come out.  I weighed them on my scale and they are light 3lb weights.

My Hearty beef stew I made from the diabetics cookbook was very good and healthy. Did not take alot to fill me up.

For this week, I am weighing in at 215lbs. I am feeling good. Getting my weight moving in the right direction

Yeah that is him.

You’re very close to your goal. I hope I can reach my goal at the start of summer.

@Amy LeBlanc check Walmart online. They sell cheap neoprene dumbbells for about a dollar a pound. I’d recommend 3s&5s or 5s&8s.

Thank You Kirsten.

I have to say that since I ramp up my workout routine and I got the RIPT90 Fit and have done 2 days so far.  I am sore, but sore in a good way.  Yet I have more energy than when I was doing the light to med. workouts that I was doing.

I am also glad that I changed up my diet even more and I am feeling good.  I am once again sleeping better if that is what you can call it since I work weird crack hours.  But I am getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep a day.

So body is resting and getting the sleep it needs which is important.  Getting better food.

Overall, I am feeling better.  Plus unlike my last job when I had stress like crazy and that was the job that when I tried to come out, they found a way to get rid of me without making it look like a discrimination.  But my current job, no stress and feeling better

Natalie, I was hoping to hit my goal by the end of March, but I’m not thinking I’ll get there. I’ll be about 5-8 pounds short more than likely. Tomorrow starts my dry month and that alone will be 4-5 pounds. Add in the exercise and I’m hoping for another 2 pounds a week so 3 a week gets me to 5 left. If I can get close I’ll be happy. ??  Then I’ll decide how I look and if I am able to lose anymore but I’m thinking that’ll be about my minimum for now. But I do hope that my body keeps getting smaller too. Maybe someday I can think about that 150-160 area.

Amy that’s amazing! I can’t remeber the last time I got 8 hours of sleep. Lol. I average 6 which works okay. But I have a 13 year old that wants to be up as late as possible, and a newly 4 year old that likes to get up early. Sooooo no luck for me. ?

I’m fitting back into medium size blouses and borderline able to get into size 12 pants. Right now I have to wear 14 with a belt.

Today I weighed in at 187.4 pounds and my waist was down to 41 inches.

Wow Rithia.  Awesome and congrats.  But how are you a size 14 and I am a size 12?  The only thing I can think of is height difference.

I think it depends on the clothing line more than anything. I’m a size 10 now at old navy. But I’m definitely much bigger at other places. I think women’s sizes are more of a “suggestion” than a measurement. ?

plus bone structure and body shape are big. I’m over 30 pounds lighter than you are, and the same height and I’m only 1 size lower than you are. I’d assume when you get to mid-low 180s you’ll be smaller than a 10 if you’re a 12 now. ??‍♀️

Thanks Kirsten.  I know at Forever21, H&M, Kohl's I wear a size 12 in pants and dresses.  When I was at lululemon getting my first pair of lulu's I am a large on leggings.  But I can also say that I am feeling comfortable with my weight going in right direction, and have energy

I’m not a 14 which is why I need the belt but I don’t fit well into a 12 yet. I think another 5 or 10 pounds should do the trick.

once I get down into the 165 range a size 12 will probably start to get big for me.

To put it in perspective when I was 150 pounds I wore small to medium for tops depending on the brand and my waist was 28 inches, my hips where about 42 inches and my leg length was roughly 30 inches.

Ok Rithia.  makes sense.

Today I started on Day 3 of RIPT90 Fit and I could not finish Day 3 dish which is called lung burner.  My legs are just way too sore for some of the workouts.  So I am just going to rest today and tomorrow to get my legs feeling good for Day 3 disc.  But I did work on my core area with V-sits, crunches, sit-ups so I dont hurt my legs.  Tonight I have a chicken salad waiting for me.

FEEL THE BURN!!! ?

Its hard at first @Amy LeBlanc  but you’ll get there. ??

I still have a hard time with some of mine. Yesterday was lower focus. After about 600 squats/lunges I could barely move. Lol. But you get better fast. Keep up the great work!

Thank You Kirsten.  I know that I have gotten better at the V-sits and V-ups which I just love and can feel the burn in my stomach.

I am so glad that I changed up my cooking of meals once more and I am doing a better job at counting calories and I write down everything I eat and how many calories it is and total it up for the day.  So far from 4 days of being even more detailed on writing down everything I eat, My calorie intake is low / average between 856 to 1125 so far.

I have been uping my fruits and veggie intake alot more.

So far looking at my new workouts for 3 days vers my calories I consumed for the day and my hours are backwards with work, I still need to work on getting my burning calories up over my calories that I am consuming.

Fruits are good but vegetables are better mostly because of the sugar in fruits. I suggest keeping your vegetable intake higher then your fruit intake. Good job. ?

Happy days! I’m under 187 pounds and 186.9. ?

My HRT checkup is in the afternoon today so it will be interesting to see my doctors reaction.

Since today is the first day of my March Madness I weighed in first thing. My current weight is 184.6. My goals for March are to first have a dry month. So no st Patty’s day fun for me this year. ???. Next is to lose at least 3 pounds a week. For a total of 13 pounds by March 31 which should be pretty easy. And lastly to get an exercise video in every day of March. I’d also like to get back on the treadmill as well. But that’s not necessarily one of my goals. That will depend on what my body is telling me.

Thats it in a nutshell. Let’s get busy!!

Thank you for the advise Rithia.  My goal for the month of March is to get under 200lbs.  I am currently at 215lbs when I last weighed in on Monday.

Yeah like Rithia said, limit fruit to some extent. Assume fruits to be like a carb. If you have a choice between your third helping of bread/pasta/etc of the day and fruit eat fruit. I have been doing 2 cups of fruit a day lately which is down from the 3 I was doing. I’m also down to 2 servings of carbs and 3 of greens. But you can literally have as many greens as you want. Eat leafy greens like they’re popcorn is what I tell my wife. Lol.

My current mea plan is this.

Protein shake for breakfast.

Salad with meat for lunch

fruit for snack

and dinner with a double carb, double protein, and  veggies

So, I jumped on the "E" train last week and am about 10 days into my HRT journey. I have the tiniest patch available. I laughed when I opened it. "This little thing is supposed to give me more feminine characteristics?"   I haven't really felt much of anything so far, not that I expected to at this point. I am really, really tired but that may be other factors (like staying up too late to watch NCAA basketball every night). The one noticeable difference is that my libido seems to be a lot more subdued. Not that I am proud of this, but the big M was a practically a daily part of life for me. My daily comfort and way to get an endorphin hit or just deal with loneliness. The past week, though, has been, "meh." Is that the HRT tamping things down? Or just a normal down cycle for me? Not sure yet. Time will tell.   I have been very quiet about things overall. Only a few people know. No one in my immediate family. I fear the backlash I will get when they find out. Worst- case scenario, my daughters stop talking to me. That would kill me. I hope I can show them over time, "See, I am still me."   Met with my endo on Wednesday. He is good for me to up the dose when I feel comfortable. For now, I think I am going to stand pat and take things nice and slow. Of course, I could see myself tomorrow asking him to send in the script for the higher dose...   I keep asking myself, what is the end game with all of this. Unlike many on here, I don't have a concrete answer yet. I am not convinced I will "go all the way" and change my name and ID, etc. Part of me would love to soldier on just as I am but with a lot more feminine physical characteristics and a more distinctly feminine wardrobe. What does that make me? Non-binary? Not sure.  Again, I am just me, as unorthodox as that is...   All I know is that this is something I want to do. I am comfortable walking this path for now. Again, we'll see. As always, would appreciate any feedback the more experienced folks may have. Blessings to all!    EasyE

I grew up with it, my mother's side were Germans.  I still like cabbage.  I make a sweet/sour dish with vinegar and brown sugar, add some bacon if you have it.  And in warmer weather, slaw.  I like that better if it's a few days old, and has worked off a little.

Good Friday Morning    I will be spending a good portion of my day at church today.  I don’t know how any of my family would have been with me.  They all passed before I figured myself out.  I often think my mother and sister may have figured it out before I did but maybe it was just my depression that they saw.  I don’t know and never will.  My grandfather Young unconditionally loved me but he passed when I was 9.   Same with my wife’s parents, both gone before.  We’ve never had the greatest relationship with my wife’s brother but we do see them occasionally.  They words and actions aren’t always in sink when it comes to me.   Sour kraut or boil cabbage were never big even with my parents so that was something we were never expected to eat.  Nor was anything with mustard.  My mother hated mustard and it turns my stomach. My wife tried to sneak it into things early in our marriage but I could always tell.  She stopped after a while.   well I wave to go get ready to go to church.  I have a committee meeting at 10 and then we have a Good Friday Service at noon.   Willow

Good morning everyone,   @KymmieLI hope you're misreading your bosses communications. As you say keep plugging a long. Don't give them signs that you're slow quitting, just to collect unemployment.   I have a few things to do business wise, and will be driving to the St. Louis, MO area for two family gatherings.   Have a great day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.
