Please be critical of me

Hello all, you have not been tainted by meeting me in person before, so I want brutal honesty.

If you are not honest, you won't be helping me.

I want to hear, precisely how old you think I am in this undoctored picture taken in my kitchen last year. And I want to know exactly how well you think I pass in the view offered.

I am so well known in town, that I have NO idea if what I am being told is accurate, or merely 'nice'.

So have at it please. What do you think.

I think that you look in your late thirties, looking good for 40+, and that you pass really well. I have neighbors that look more like a man then you do, I would immediately think "she"

I "read" your photo as she/her without any hesitation. Wish I had your eyebrows. Mine look like bushy caterpillars parked up there!

I would guess your age as 40-ish.  You pass really well.  However, the tiara would be overkill in most social situations, and could 'out' you, if it was not in keeping with the dress code for the occasion.

I'm going to be honest - I'm a terrible judge of age, but I'd guess you were in your mid-30s, thereabouts.  As for passing, were I to have run into, I'd have no cause to think you trans.  Your face has a feminine roundness and softness to it, and the smile brings it together.

(Now that I have made my judgement, I read the other posts.  I wanted to put my own thoughts forward before I was biased by anyone else's...)

I agree on the tiara - it is totally not needed.  Unless you're playing Princess Bunny, of course!

Woah, you look almost exactly like my favorite nurse from GCS. I mean if you were wearing blue scrubs and lost the tiara. I don't think I ever saw her wear a tiara.

I'm terrible at judging people's ages, but I'm going to say late 30's to early 40's? I'm going to say again that I'm terrible at this. I pegged my friend Rosanne at about my age where she's about ten years my senior. You never can tell. We all age differently.

Hugs!

You want brutal honesty? Be careful what you wish for.

Heres my opnion for what its worth.

makeup is great. You have got that sorted well. How did you archieve the standard?

As mentioned Tiarra in some circumstances looks perfect however it really does depend on the situation. If your over 25 then it really isnt a good look unless your royalty.

Face shape is good.  and its lovely to see a nice shaped set of eyebrows. It can make you break the overall look.

Age wise. I would say if i see that picture between early 40,s max 45 years

My critisisms and the only ones would be as mentioned above. The tiarra. Also i think maybe  bangs would suit you face shape. Bangs hide a whole lot and can make your face look more softer. Not that it needs it but i think it would make you look younger.

Overall a very good representation. Its hard with just one picture but thats the conclusion i draw from it. I cant see anything that screams Maleness

I hope that is some use to you.

I have a little bit extra since you want us to be critical. First I would probably only clock you if I was looking for it. But I would clock you if I was looking. Here's why:

1. The glasses are masculine IMO. I have that issue myself as mine are very similar.

2. The upper lip is thin. Try to plump it up with lipstick, lip plumper, and/or other techniques.

3. Pay attention to your hooded eyes and apply eye makeup accordingly. I have found Pinterest to be very helpful.

4. If you're not already, make sure you highlight and contour your nose to make it look smaller. We pretty much all have that issue. In particular I have a gigantic honker (yours is much smaller) and I will have to get rhinoplasty if I ever want to pass. But the right makeup helps tremendously.

You do look great, and I'm being picky ?

Belle ❤

Be ready here:  This link is part of my reply it is a pinned post here on the Forums that I made shortly after I came here 8 years ago. It applies directly to what you are asking. ---https://www.transgenderpulse.com/forums/topic/43991-public-vs-picture/

A regular head band would be fine, even one with "blings" on it.  I did a little bit of adjusting to the picture and some of the lip issue seems to be camera exposure, but I would suggest just a darker shade of lip liner and maybe aa little deeper color.  I do not refer to or like the ideas associated with Passing, but the picture does present an acceptably female  person (the range of female looks is so very wide that it is easy to look acceptable even though we doubt that we look that way)   The point to me is how I will see you and think of you after speaking to you for 20 minutes or so.  Again, do read my link, and see what it really says.l

I guessed 35 before reading others replies. After reading the other replies, it looks like most people guessed a few years older than that.

I also love this photo.  I don't have issue with your lipstick application and your nose is just like my spouses so no issue there.  I would go with either barrettes or the tiara (headband) but not both.   There are nice headbands without too much bling that would look nice.  Your glasses aren't bad but could be more feminine.   As to age, I'm terrible at this so I'll say younger than me!

Yeah, maybe 30 something. Your charming smile lights up your face with femininity. In so many of my photos, my expression is too serious. I guess I am not sure what "passable" means. I think if I believe I am attractive, I generate attractiveness. That's something I need work on but you appear to have that quality.

Hugs,

Definitely think you pass. As for age, I'd guess you are in your 40s.

I don't know what the occasion is, but I think the tiara might be a little much, and may make you look a little "childish" in certain situations. Other than that, I think you pass quite well.

Hey 30ish no Tiara, mk up looks good. I don't believe in the word or statement of the phrase "PASSING". You look like a woman, you r woman, thus yr a woman, wish I had your hair, Great smile.

I am honest to a fault, so here it comes (hope I'm not too late to the party here)....  My immediate first impression was purely female, but then I caught a hint of a pale ghost of maleness somewhere... I looked and looked at your features but couldn't put my finger on it.  Besides, I often find the same hint in a lot of cis-gendered women.  Then I read the comments... it's the glasses!  Without them, you would look all woman!

If you can, get some women's frames.  I have them; the local optometrist was genuinely helpful.  Wear lip gloss/balm to your fitting but you won't need full makeup.  Fix your hair for it though... that makes a big difference when trying frames.  If you're still stealth, put a couple of bobby pins in your pocket for the fitting. Pick the ones that enhance your feminine face; nothing over the top so they'll work with all of your future changes.  You'll be amazed at the difference.

I agree with all of the other comments.  Your brows are one of your best features!  A little more upper lip might prove helpful.  Your face is so feminine!  That necklace is a little too dainty but not a problem.  Mary is right... a longer and larger necklace draws attention away from the neck and down to the bust, a common woman's trick.  I use that one a lot to distract from my trachea which I don't notice at all in this photo of you, you lucky bitty, lol.  Add some hoop or dangle type earrings.  Something with a little bit of mass but not too long.  Your lipstick is beautiful, just keep practicing and it will become automatic.

Sorry, but I look at hands to guess age.  You barely have 1 or 2 wrinkles on your forehead, no smile wrinkles, so I would guess 30's, no more.

To be brutally honest, if your hair was darker, you'd look EXACTLY like my baby sister and she's 37. Even the glasses are the same.

Thanks, @VickySGVfor some truth. Hatred may speak loudly in a political agenda, but there is always love, there is always love.

Doesn't this belong over in the Humor Topic??  Grim humor I admit, but it has the dark humor picture of the folks protesting the Sacramento Sanctuary Laws.  If the world is going to end next week why are these people so concerned about someone staying fertile and able to have children??   Crazy.

Once again the opposition is telling scary, unfounded  baloney about what IS being done to any Trans Person.  The truth about the very little and very cautious treatments just will not sink into them because it will sink them.  They bully their own Cis children unmercifully to fit into their molds, and that is gruesome in itself. I am happy to say I know that Trans children and all Trans folks in the area have access to wonderful care based on what some of my former State colleagues who have Trans family members and fellow employees there in Sacramento keep telling me about.

good for you dear. my guess is soreness is good sign things are going on there. water them n hope. smiles   actually was speaking to someone other day n they said the growth leveled off after a few years  which coincided with a few years of very high stress..n then when the high stress resolved, she grew another cup size..

darling I completely agree. but it will need road testing I'd think.    and I recently asked a surgeon about an idea I had for easier recovery...do a zero depth 1st..recover then add a canal..he said NO. this surgery is hard enough on body to recover, do not do it any more than needed. also said penile inversion usually is sufficient n includes a few centimeters of perineum tissue anyway..so keep the perineum pull through as a reserve technique in case there is a problem with theb penile inversion.    hugs to any who want them

I can't tell from the article if being trans was part of the motivation for the crime, or whether it was simply incidental to it. Clearly at least one of the perpetrators was known to the victim, which seems to continue the pattern that the most dangerous people for us are often people we know.  😒

Beans, beans, the musical fruit...   But beans and rice make a complete protein, and a pretty cheap base for any sort of meal. Since two of my partners are Hispanic and one is Asian, we use a lot of rice. Plenty of beans too, although 90% of the time they are on the form of black-eyed peas. That crop grows really well in the South no matter how hot and dry it gets.  And the Native American trio of corn, beans, and squash is a classic.  Actually, those ingredients tend to show clearly whether kids were raised with a healthy diet or not. Kids raised eating those foods luke them. Kids raised without experiencing those foods tend to reject them immediately. Rather strange.

I feel a little better about going outside. I got my EpiPen just in case of an emergency. Today was rough started euphoric and then depression hit real hard and I don't even know what it was about. It just happened. I want to see a bright future but it turns dim because of something. I was disappointed on how much supplemental insurance was more than regular health insurance. I enjoy seeing other successful people making it as a couple through everything in fact I cheer them on but it just makes me think if I will find anyone. I barely dated anyone when I was physically fit male and then it seems the older I get it gets harder. Not to mention everyone down here leaves as soon as they find out I'm trans. It's only going to get more difficult because of borderline personality disorder. It's dang near seems impossible that people would even put up with that. After all that I'm still trying to be positive and hope for the best but I always expect the worst and that has always been the case. Pushing 40 and I haven't even experienced true love.

Good afternoon everyone,    I’ve been working in the shop and preparing a few training props for shipping. So my responses and activity here has been very slow. I’m doing well just real tired.    Hugs,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

That’s good news, listen to your doctors and your body. You may be asked to start a daily exercise routine and walking around the neighborhood. The worst thing you can do is become sedentary and laying around.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
