What's your favorite band EVER?

That song is like soooo deep. Morrison once would be arrested on stage, that just added to his mystique :)

I had tickets to see The Doors when they were to play in Providence, R.I. However, due to the mess that got him busted for exposing himself ini Florida, the show was cancelled. I was understandably crushed! There's a scene in the film where Densmore is rattling off the names of all of the towns that cancelled and he lists the one that I'd been so looking forward to. I never got another opportunity and so never saw them.

I live in Portland, Oregon now and have for more than half of my life. I'm just up the street a ways from Reed College where a friend of mine was a student many long years ago. The Doors played there and he said that when the band came out to tune up it was just the three musicians. Then what he described as this dirty looking hippie came out and stood at the side of the stage just listening. My friend wondered if security would throw the guy out when all at once he ambled over to center stage, grabbed mike and began singing. Yeah, it was The Lizard King and I've been jealous of my friend ever since.

Mina Mazzini is perhaps my favorite singer.

Here you can listen to her in an English version of Careless Whiper and with a heavily edited album cover.

Mina, you can read her life there, astonishing voice and for those who are familiar of singer voices, Mina has a range a three octaves and a great soprano as well.

I'm inclined to say Burn The Ballroom but I'm not sure if I'm picking them over MCR because the latter is super well-known and I like them both lmao

When your entire platform revolves around tax cuts (for the rich),  hate and limiting human rights I'm surprised anyone could support the republicans.  There are always some who look back at the past as a kind of paradise.  Unfortunately that perfection only exists in theme parks and imagination.   Hugs,   Charlize

And as I remember it back in the fifties: you ban a book and all the teens will find a copy and read it—Henry Miller, for instance, was that for me.

😄 😁 so true above, honestly they (MAGA) are not doing a very good job of attracting many new voters by what they do once given power. They don't offer much to get behind, except restricting female reproductive care access and attacking trans. MAGA is dying, and they know it.

Good Monday Morning for some. Up early, I actually get to open today. Made it through so far without getting canned. I don't know if I am on borrowed time or not. I think the former.  Working in a hostile environment doesn't help.    Have a good day all.   Kymmie

This is irrelevant. There is a lot of diversity amongst Christians, as every Cristian is quick to point out whenever someone accuses Christianity of being homophobic, but the not allowing Christians to talk about Christ in public would immediately cause every Christian in the country to start screaming that the Chrisian religion is being eradicated. A Jew who saw himself as primarily a German citizen would have still been killed in the holocaust. Primary identity does not matter, only whether or not you are part of the group.   It also makes life difficult, and makes you feel alone, as any community interaction will break concealment. A community is important because being trans comes with difficulties unique to trans people, you can't ask a cis person about stuff like binders, and having to deal with problems only you have that you can't discuss with anyone else is dangerous.   Do you live in Florida? Ron DeSantis is the current favorite amongst republicans for president. He is isolating Floridian trans people to the point that many are just leaving.   By weak state, do you mean stopping States from enacting laws that are harmful? Taking away power from the State? In that case, I agree! Let's make a broad law, one that applies to all the States, stopping all legislature from excluding on basis of gender, sexuality, and gender identity on all levels of government. Something on a national level. What would you call that? Maybe... Federal law. That sounds catchy, right?   For anyone who didn't catch on, the italics were a joke.

"In Video, Trump Vows To Target Doctors Treating Trans People If Re-Elected"   This is the topic. (above)  I fail to see where mass shootings and gun control have anything to do with it. Please get back on topic or I will lock it.   MaryEllen Forum Director
