Shoes

I used to wear heels, the higher the better for me they were. But since my ages advances rapidly, I lately am purchasing flats. I am addicted with loafers.

I have an eye for this one in lilac color Franco Sarto

And you ladies, what shoe do you fancy wearing it?

That's a pretty shoe, but I would prefer sans tassels.  Just a thing for me, I've never like tassels on anything.  Have seen that cross strap a lot lately so I take it that's current fashion.  On my screen it looks white.  I was expecting pale lavender.  I think my screen colors are off.

It's been over a decade since I wore high heels, but I still like a low heel.  However, like you said, age makes us want flats more and more.  All my life I've wanted leather moccasins and I just got my first pair.  As expected, I don't even know they're on my feet.... soooo comfy, but I only wear them to town.  Out here in the country I spend most of my time in boring sneakers and house slippers, lol.  Traction on lumpy ground trumps fashion.

So, rather sheepishly, I have to admit that I'm still addicted to high heels. I know they aren't particularly practical for everyday wear, but personally I'm just not inspired much by flats.   My favorite heel height is between 3 inches and 3 3/4 inches, just the right height to meet my fashion standards, yet not too tall to walk in naturally.

I do have a couple of pairs of flats for extremely casual events, but I always try to find an excuse to wear high heels.

I love high heels too.  Even though I haven't "mastered" the walk yet, I just love the way they make my legs look ?

I would love a couple cute pairs, of varying heel heights, nothing to crazy, as I'm 6'2". If anyone knows where I can find some that delivers to Canada and stocks cute ones in size 13 please let me know. Stripper heels are not my style, and that's all I can find so far.

Same goes for flats, sandals and boots. Why do they have to be utilitarian and ugly in my size. ?

I completely feel your pain. I'm a size 13 also. I've got a few pairs from Long Tall Sally (including my cute boots). They're currently going out of business, so I'd hurry. I can get gym shoes and sandals from Amazon. Exotic High Heels has stuff in our size, but nothing I'd call daily wear. DSW has a selection in our size as well. Not a HUGE selection, but they've got some stuff we can wear. Avenue and Torrid also offer a small selection.

There seems to be an unwritten law that the bigger shoes become the uglier they have to be. Finding something you like in Sasquatch can be challenging. Good luck!

Hugs!

Thanks Jackie. I am thinking of taking up shoe making as a hobby at this point. That or medicine so I can develop a surgery to make me smaller.

Hi Sara.  Size 13 Women's? (that would be size 11 mens).
I have had some success on Amazon.  In the shoe section do a By Size search.   Good luck❣️

So I ordered these in 12 and they just fit my 13 feet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0784HDKK8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I almost killed myself in them so threw them away. lol. Right now I would settle for any shoe I can find in a 13.  I've discovered size 11 sandals that fit me but 13 sandals not.  My foot measures a 13 solid.

When I was first coming out and starting my transition, I'd clomp around campus in these big platform heel boots that I got off Amazon. They were labelled size 14, but fit more like a size 11, and they had a 4.75 inch heel so needless to say they were pretty killer on my feet. The first time I wore them, I missed a step going down into our dining hall and fell in front of everyone. I'm pretty tall, had bright pink hair at the time and let out a very creative string of curses on my way down so it caused quite the scene. Since then though, I've opted for much more practical shoes, mostly flats and the few heels I have are lower and blockier, or wedges.

The last time that I wore stiletto heels, was when the Parthenon was built.

You're not that old @Dinaki!!!  But I can relate.  I wear flats mostly.  I don't wear heals over 1.5 inches.  Too wobbly!

To me there isn't that much difference other the measurement, which side the zipper is on and men's pants have bigger pockets.

I hope this is not stupid question..I have yet to start n not sure if doc will approve..but once you start growing buds n such, can you still wear forms to get to the size you were?   I'm a dad, so when I start blossoms they will be smaller for a long time n probably need surgical augmented..that's fine. I don't want to go ddd to aa to ddd..   any ideas?   thank you

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆

I think the key to that is just not minding eating the same thing repeatedly. Since we produce a lot of our own food here, we end up eating what is in season at the moment. So, when the yellow squash is ripening, we end up fixing squash 20 different ways. When the strawberries are ready, we eat lots of strawberries. It's kind of a different mindset to eat in season when it has become such a part of American culture but the grocery store has everything we want all the time. Like grapes in December.  My family does even things out a little bit by having a greenhouse so we have some fresh things in the winter, but it's not a 100% fix.

My brothers and I had to eat what was on the plate.  All of it, and nothing else.  Pickiness was not tolerated.  Some of our least favourite were liver and onions, sauerkraut, and especially rollmops (pickled herring).  We finally protested enough to persuade our mother not to serve rollmops, though she kept a jar in the pantry for years afterwards, as a threat if we didn't behave.

I'll go first.  My favorite team is the Yankees.  Loved them since I was a kid.  I was born in NYC so, yeah.  I know everyone loves to hate them, and that's OK.  I just love baseball in general.  It's a game of traditions, strategy, power, grace and skill.   Play Ball!!  ⚾   Carolyn Marie

I guess you do have a good point. It's just hard to try and not have the same meals over and over again.

Hi   I’ll weigh in on being picky about food.  Yes, and I was brought up that way.  We didn’t have to eat everything our parents ate.  They had a number of things they ate that they figured we wouldn’t eat, an acquired taste things or one or the other didn’t like them too.   even as an adult there are many things I won’t eat.  In my defense, there are different things my wife won’t eat.   the weird thing is that after being in E, my tastes have changed.  Sweet, sour, salty or bland, if I eat or drink too much of any one thing and I have to counter act it.   Willow

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday
    • MaeBe
It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃
    • MaeBe
I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.
