I was relaxing after studio session last night and watched Jackie's video on talking with your spouse's during transition and I was so proud of her talking about Transpulse and especially how good and wonderful our moderators are. She is SO right.

My thanks and gratitude to all the moderators. You have all been so important to my mental health and I cannot say thank you enough for all you do.

FOR all of you who are not moderators please use this topic to chime in.

It's nice to know that an "influencer" is looking after us and sending people who need support our way.  Allies are wonderful to have.  Thanks, Heather.

Thank you @KayC and thank you @jae bear Jani tells me I am a lot like you and in finding you on YouTube along with Dr. Z gender specialist in LA I found these incredible ladies and have moved forward more in 2?months then in 68 years. Thank you for your sound advice and I hope to join the ranks of full transition in as timely a fashion as I am able.

And again thank you ALL the moderators here ... You gals are the most beautiful, thoughtful, caring and comforting women I have ever known and cannot express my gratitude any more then my weak attempt here. As I say in a song I wrote that @Cyndee liked enough for us to work on together "Words Get in the Way". I notice now that many of my songs speak to those of us gathered here and I will continue to share the recordings in my blog here and hope they help some of you during times of trials and tribulations.

@Kymmie - she has so much she shares and is VERY articulte in her presentations - wonder if she has teaching and/or motivational speaking background. It's nice to have honest input with no sugar coating nor being something that doesn't seem real.

Oh my,   ?

my rabbit ears were burning!

it really feels good to hear that I’m doing what I set out to accomplish, it’s definitely been a long trip both here on the forum and on YouTube, and I always do my best to get girls moved over here that need the support! This is where I found support at first, this is where I was prompted to find a therapist, the one thing that made the world different and set me up for success...
I picked one of the therapists out of the resource page, searched my location and found one not far from me, that therapist helped me start my path. That’s why I talk about the forum in my videos, because I know how important it is to get here, to use the resource page, to talk to the girls here and get reassurance that the world will not end if I started doing what had to be done for me, to start the process of transition as scary as it soundEd at first. All the members and moderators helped me through those scary first steps, and one of those moderators, “who knows her own name”?, told me to take things one day at a time, not to live by fear, and that the world would not end if I showed people who I really was... She was absolutely right, she was there with the right words when I needed it, and I certainly hope that I am presenting the right words when someone else needs them, and if not, at the very least I hope I help them find their way here.

Jackie:

You brought me to this forum to help me transition from male to female.

Although, I am 67, it is not too late to transition to my real self as a woman.

I have done a great deal of soul-searching and have decided to start HRT in the near future.

I have contacted my primary dr and psychiatrist and brought up my wanting to start my journey to female.  I have been referred to a gender clinic here in Portland to see about HRT transitioning.

I am excited and nervous at the same time not knowing how this journey will proceed, but I will not stop the process.

Much Love,

Katherine1745

Oh! I didn't know that was you! I've been gorging myself on youtube trans videos (so addicted to them) and I saw one or two of yours just recently. You were out at a park talking about differences between living as a man vs a woman. (BTW, I wanted to say, FWIW, even gender aside, I think when people enter a business and see a desk right by the door, even if there's nobody there, there's a tendency to assume "Well, that's where people put receptionist desks, so that's probably who works there". People usually think of a business owner's or manager's office as usually being further in, out of public view. So that may be part of the issue.)

One of the the things that's been helping ease my mind with all of this is noticing how much I envy the MtF youtubers. It's like my inner kid is whining "Aww, they were born a boy like me, buy they get to be girls!" I figure that's really telling me something.

Hi Heather, yes that is actually me, I talk about this is my friends and sometimes it surprises me that people watch me at all or that I am an “influencer” On YouTube, I still find it baffling but I am really happy that I’m reaching the right people and have the right message for them. I did the same thing, I would watch girls on YouTube and think the same thoughts, I identified with them and saw myself somehow in their eyes, it showed me a possible future for myself and that with everything I was looking for, now I simply try to spread that message as much as I can to give some assemblance of hope for those entering the process, it is scary, it certainly plays upon our insecurities but I’m doing my best to show that it can be done, and you are not alone...

Passing on what we learn on our journeys is often one of the biggest gifts we can give to another.  Wonderfully in giving that we receive so much ourselves.  Sites like this give us that opportunity.  Somehow we grow to love ourselves as we love others.  I've found the same to be true in recovery from addiction.

Thanks to all here who make this possible!

Hugs,

Hi Jae Bear

I appreciate your YT vids for your laid back style and the reassurance they offer. It's very important for someone like me, on the front end of this journey.

I heard you tell the story of your bike-wreck injuries. My cruiser high-side was 7 ribs broken in 11 places, a flail chest and a punctured lung. Compared to you, I was only bruised up a little. I'm glad you survived.

And I'm glad to know that you're in Oakland. I lived for awhile just uphill from Tele and Claremont. Three roomies from Cal College of Arts and Crafts, and me, just arrived from Reno, mind totally blown by Telegraph Ave before the "Summer of Love" brought the speeders, waiting for Cal residency for SF State. We were good friends with Owsley Stanley, but I'm old as dirt, so a young girl like you might not have met him. We could stand on our front porch, look directly out under the GG Bridge, past the Farallons at beautiful sunsets, while loaded, playing acoustic guitar and feeling soooo hip, slick and cool.... Charlize might know that feeling, too....

~~Thanks, and a big hug from Lee~~

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?

Good morning    Now @Abigail Genevieve and @Mmindy what makes you so certain I didn’t mean it to say bee itch certificate?  lol. Thanks Mindy. I was asleep when you saw this and fixed it, and yes Abigail, as a moderator I could have fixed it myself, or weren’t you pointing out the irony of that?   I use Alexis as my alarm to get up.  And I set the ringer to be two guys telling me to get up.  I was so sound asleep when they started telling me to get up that it scared me and my first thought were I had over slept.  Since I have a difficult time getting to sleep as early as I have to in order to get enough sleep I at least cut back my normal awake time to get ready.  But now I have to do my hair and get going.   enjoyed my coffee and a little time catching up   see you all later, for its hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.   Willow

Republicans have long committed grave errors by emphasizing their social agenda and moral issues instead of just focusing on the economy, lowering taxes, keeping the public safe, building a strong national defense, promoting business, touting reasonable immigration policies, etc.   The country would thrive economically under Trump's tax and business policies. That's a fact. Another four years of Biden will run this country into the ground financially (including all of our 401Ks and IRAs). But the GOP continues to play right into the Dems' hands by leading with their moral crusades instead of staying the course and trusting their fiscal policies to win the day...

LGBTQ rights Project 2025 takes extreme positions against LGBTQ rights, seeking to eliminate federal protections for queer people and pursue research into conversion therapies in order to encourage gender and sexuality conformity. The policy book also lays out plans to criminalize being transgender and prohibit federal programs from supporting queer people through various policies. The project partnered with anti-LGBTQ groups the Family Policy Alliance, the Center for Family and Human Rights, and the Family Research Council. Project 2025 calls for the next secretary of Health and Human Services to “immediately put an end to the department’s foray into woke transgender activism,” which includes removing terms related to gender and sexual identity from “every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.” The Trump administration proposed a similar idea in 2018 that would have resulted in trans people losing protections under anti-discrimination laws. [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; The New Republic, 2/8/24] Similarly, the policy book calls for HHS to stop all research related to gender identity unless the purpose is conformity to one's sex assigned at birth. The New Republic explains: “That is, research on gender-nonconforming children and teenagers should be funded by the government, but only for the purpose of studying what will make them conform, such as denying them gender-affirming care and instead trying to change their identities through ‘counseling,’ which is a form of conversion therapy.” [The New Republic, 2/8/24] The policy book’s foreword by Kevin Roberts describes “the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children” as “pornography” that “should be outlawed,” adding, “The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned.” Roberts also says that “educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Roberts’ foreword states that “allowing parents or physicians to ‘reassign’ the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end.” Echoing ongoing right-wing attacks on trans athletes, Roberts also claims, “Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; TIME magazine, 5/16/22] Dame Magazine reports that Project 2025 plans to use the Department of Justice to crack down on states that “do not charge LGBTQ people and their allies with crimes under the pretense that they are breaking federal and state laws against exposing minors to pornography.” [Dame Magazine, 8/14/23] Project 2025 also calls for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to repeat “its 2016 decision that CMS could not issue a National Coverage Determination (NCD) regarding ‘gender reassignment surgery’ for Medicare beneficiaries.” The policy book’s HHS chapter continues: “In doing so, CMS should acknowledge the growing body of evidence that such interventions are dangerous and acknowledge that there is insufficient scientific evidence to support such coverage in state plans.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Going further, Project 2025 also demands that the next GOP administration “reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military.” The policy book’s chapter on the Defense Department claims: “Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service, and the use of public monies for transgender surgeries … for servicemembers should be ended.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023]   …summaries of what’s within the rest of the document re: LGBTQ+ concerns. A person can believe their gender is fixed but incongruent with their physiology, but the authors and Trump (by his own words) just see the incongruity of an “expressed gender” that conflicts with what was/is in a person’s pants.
