Picking Up Some New Shoes Today -- Orthopedic For Diabetes Care

My higher heels and fashion days are over or getting there.  Two weeks ago I had some special molds made of my poor old feet and they called me to pick up a pair of shoes that will protect my feet from Diabetic foot ulcers.  Insurance is picking up some of the cost but the idea is sure making me feel OLD.  Luckily the shoes I picked out were from the women's catalog that had some OK looking ones, but the do look like older people's shoes.  On the good side, an appointment with my endocrinologist yesterday shows my Diabetes is under the best control it has been in a long while, and I have lost just about 20 pounds during this Pandemic experience. I will post pics when I get them. Do not let GD get in your way of taking care of your other needed body parts.  I know this will help me enjoy life a bit more and a bit longer.

OK, this is a picture of the new ones, I need to break them in over about 5 days, so not full time, they do support my feet, but are heavy and hotter than my other stuff.

Been there, done that, Vicky!  First of all, big congrats on getting the diabetes under control.  That's not always an easy task.   

 

I got my special shoes last year for bunions and flat feet.  It took about a week to break them in but now I love them.  I chose a sneaker look, but I like yours, too.  Best of luck with them and happy walking!!
