@Bri2021, I often dress just like that. I absolutely love the dragonfly though. I've been looking for a nice dragonfly pendant. My spouse, tragically, doesn't QUITE "get" my style choices.

@ElizabethStar, love the sweater. I agree, it would look good kind of off one shoulder. It is what it is though, I'd just be happy it fits.

@Niamh... I need your coat. It's cold here and while mine is pretty, it's not warm and I really have to layer up. I'd love some down that looks that nice.

I'm still dressed for the gym so I'll spare you the carnage. Grey racerback, lavender tights. Nothing fancy.

Hugs!

Looking fabulous ladies!

Yes Liz, that off shoulder look would be nice although like Jackie says the sweater is nice as is. I'm not brave enough for off shoulder though.  The phone case is amazing.

Niamh I'm loving everything going on there right down to the buckles on the boots.

Jackie given how much you work out, I don't think a pic of the workout attire would be "carnage" lol

Thank you to everyone on the compliments!

The phone case..... I actually got it awhile before I was out. It had one of those ring things on it but it blocked the image so there was no love lost when it fell off. Not that you can tell in the pic but my phone is rose gold. More things about myself I should have paid better attention to.

Decided to make an effort today. Also it's cold so I bundled up.

Behold my first experiment with full-body selfies and the timer function on my phone camera.

I chose the rose gold Apple watch when I bought one. I'd probably chose a phone like that too, except that I'm still using an iPhone 5 like they had on the Flintstones.

@Jackie C.  Super cute and warm! I love the blues with blonde hair look so much!

Love,

~Audrey.

Onward to my micro-mini fashion show.

I see where you're going from a fashion perspective here!  I love the front zip sweater!  Your choices all highlight my insecurities. lol. I hate my tattoos now so don't like exposed my shoulders or back. I'm also not brave enough to bear my tummy yet so you go girl!

Are the jeans new? Cause damn! you look good in skinny jeans.

This is as short a skirt as I'm brave enough to wear and as you can see, I'm covering my gargantuan and tattooed shoulders. lol

I do like you outfit, especially the skirt, but I find myself still shying away from patterns. I think white clothes hate me. The last time I wore white I made it a whole 5 minutes before spilling coffee on it.

I feel that. Every time I wear white I'm in terror I'm going to spill something on it. Doesn't stop me though. I've got a white peasant skirt and a couple pairs of white pants. I look fantastic in them.

@Bri2021, I think your shoulders look perfectly feminine in shape and size...maybe it’s the outfit but I don’t see them as oversized at all. Also, I have to say that this new hairstyle makes you look very pretty. It really frames your face nicely.

Aww- I love you right now.... we all have our insecurities though right?

My hairstyle is courtesy of a run in with an old client last night at work who just found out I was trans when she walked in. She's a hair stylist so naturally we talked hair.  Same haircut as before but after I put curling cream in she said to then scrunch it with a dry t-shirt or microfiber cloth. It absorbs some of the cream and the curls set/dry quickly.  If you do it with your hands the curls don't air dry fast enough and weighs things down.

Well, it looks great @Bri2021! Your old client gave you a fabulous new look. I like it!

Believe it or not, I use curling cream (given to me as a gift) like a setting cream to hold my loose curls instead of using hairspray and I have to say, it works pretty well.

If my hair is dry, I dampen it lightly with warm water from a spray bottle combing it thru evenly....not too wet though. Then drop a dab of curling cream into my palms and spread it in my palms and run my palms and fingers evenly through my hair. Then I comb it in with a fine comb. Then I use a blow dryer on the lowest setting and round brush my curls to style just before it’s fully dry. The loose curls last as long or maybe longer than hairspray without that tacky feel in my hair

I will have to try your method to see if I might look better with a few tighter curls. It could work well and may save me some time curling it when I want a different look. Thanks for the tip!

Or use a diffuser and scrunch a section of hair into it and push it up to your scalp and run it for a couple minutes / until it sets, then go to another section. I use a medium heat so I don't burn myself since it staying in one place for a bit.  Not sure how any of this will work if you don't have much natural curl but worth a shot.

Rather simple today. Going up to a friends house for a visit and wedding ceremony practice. New sweater and jeans that I got yesterday. Although I did manage to get a hint of cleavage for the first time.

I call shenanigans. From that picture that's WAY more than a hint. I wish I had that much up top.

Lol. The size is from my forms. I’ve always had a had time positioning them for any kind of cleavage. Today I managed but it really isn’t all that much

@Mia Marie I agree that it seems most of the focus is on Trans Youth.  And maybe that is in part because of protecting Trans Youth from the political environment, and to give them a chance to transition at an earlier age.  Many of our generation have been cloistered for most of our lives by societal exceptions and I think that has made it more difficult to be Visible ... until Now. So I guess my answer is ... Be Visible and seek out, or even start, support groups in your local area.  Planned Parenthood does provide Gender Affirming Care and therapy in most U.S. regions (and they take Medicare!).

As a registered CA voter I would be HAPPY to vote against this bill ... BUT as @Carolyn Marie mentioned it has little chance to make the ballot.  Hopefully this will put the Death Knell on the bill.   wrt Parents Rights of notification.  I would agree if there was potential harm to a child, or if the child was involved in potentially harming somebody else.  BUT, that would not be the case in the preponderance of situations.  The decision to Come Out to one's own parents should be up to the individual child only.  If the child does not feel Secure or Safe in their household then it should not be up to the State or School to make that determination. If the child did feel safe and secure they would have probably already come out.  If they haven't ... then the situation seems obvious.  Protect the Child, not the System.

Great news!  We ARE starting to receive more public support and visibility in opposition to these types of horrendous and wasteful bills.

Nice to meet you @mattie22 , and Welcome! Your feelings are very normal.  I felt much the same at the beginning of my Journey.  But, in fact it is a 'journey' that is unique to each of our individual lives.  There is not a specific or pre-determined destination.  That's up to you to discover as you find your way. You already received some great Encouragement here.  I hope stay with us, and you will both discover and contribute.  Deeps breaths ... one step at a time

Incredible news for transgender and abortion providers and patients in Maine. Despite violent threats, Gov. Janet Mills of Maine has signed a sanctuary bill into law. It even enshrines WPATH Standards of Care as protected by Maine.   https://twitter.com/ErinInTheMorn/status/1782894991368462520/photo/1

Basically my only source of validation is from close friends who know I'm trans 😅   I'm not a very masculine-looking guy in general, and I've had to stop binding due to pain, so strangers and physical validation aren't things I can get. My family still uses she/her pronouns and female terms with me, so there's not much validation at home, either.   I'm grateful I have friends that are willing to use my pronouns and such, though. It makes me feel a lot better.

I use my  chosen name online and when ever I can. I play some online game and only go by that name. That is how everyone there know me. Yes it does feel great to be called the name you prefer.

I was ten years old when my mom walked in on me frolicking around my room dressed up in her bra, panties, and some pantyhose. I had been doing this in the privacy of my bedroom for a little while now so I had my own little stash box I kept full of different panties, bras, etc ... of hers. My mom's underwear was so easy for me to come by and she was a very attractive woman, classy, elegant. Well when she walked in on me, she looked at me with disgust and said to me... "If I wanted to run around like mommy's little girl instead of mommy's little boy, then she was going to treat me like mommy's little girl."  She left my bedroom after telling me NOT to change or get dressed or anything and returned with a few of her work skirts and blouses and such. She made me model off her outfits for her and I have to admit ... I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. I felt so sexy, and feminine. And she knew I loved it.  She told me we can do this every weekend if I'd like. It would be OUR little secret.

The usual social ways, of course.  Taking care of my partners and stepkids, being involved in my community.  That makes me feel good about my role.   As for physical validation and gender... probably the most euphoric experience is sex.  I grew up with my mother telling me that my flat and boyish body was strange, that my intersex anatomy was shameful, that no man would want me. So experiencing what I was told I could never have is physical proof that I'm actually worth something.

<Moderator hat on>  I think that, at this point we need to get the thread back onto the topic, which is the judge's ruling on the ballot proposition.  If there is more to be said on the general principles of gendered spaces etc., please discuss them, carefully and respectfully, in separate threads. <Moderator hat off>

People who have no understanding of transgender conditions should not be making policy for people dealing with it. Since it is such a small percentage of the population, and each individual is unique, and their circumstances are also unique, each situation needs to be worked with individually to see that the best possible solution is implemented for those involved.
